The awesome wall of herbs to make various teas! It was huge!

A great little stop located within Pike Place. Yep it smells like incense and herbs right from the get go. Here you'll find all sorts of items such as herbs, teas, tinctures, incense, some reading material, and many other products. The highlight for me, was having my own customized tea made, since I could not find what I was looking for with the pre-packaged ones. Behind the counter there are huge jars filled with various herbs and I very much enjoyed seeing the clerk mix all of them together in a large wooden bowl while she explained the benefits of the tea. She mixed in some Alfalfa, Oatstraw, Nettle, Raspberry Leaf, and red clover. For about $8 or $9, I got a good amount of herbs for my tea. It also looked much more interesting all together and not just a measely tea bag. So far I've been boiling it all together leaving it soaking during the night, and straining it. I find it makes a wonderful, fragrant tea and you make the most out of your herbs this way, because otherwise you end up with a very bland, pale water looking tea. You'll find lots of great items if you're into herbal remedies and that sort of thing. If you're not, it's still a neat shop to go into, even if it's to admire their large wall full of herbs and tinctures.

Uhhhhhh.....woah! Beats Berkeley and haight!!!!! So many cool things in here I wish we had a local one in the bay. Las for for zodiac and chakras, teas for ailments, normal tea, tiger balm, incense, so many cool things! We left buying some ailment tea. Really wish I got some chakra oil. Really awesome store to check out if you like that kind of thing.

This door leads to wonderful things.

But today it is as awesome as ever and my go to for vitamins and herbs. There are some extremely knowledgeable folks behind the herb counter, and very kind people at that. It's a great place for natural shampoos, soaps, honeys, herb-based chocolates, household products in addition to all of the vitamins and tinctures as well. AND they have an amazing loyalty program that has saved me a fair chunk when I'm ready to spend big. In short, I love Rainbow and I hope that it remains there forever, helping people use the power of plants to heal.

But unfortunately, today's visit will be my last. I came into the store with a general idea of what I wanted to purchase. There were 3 employees working and only one other customer in store. I didn't receive a greeting, any acknowledgment, or even a smile - nothing. I felt like my presence was a nuisance. Their selection of products is vast and impressive (+1 star), but overwhelming if you don't know exactly what you're looking for. I would be more knowledgeable of what to buy if staff would be helpful and open to questions. I walked up to someone stocking a shelf with products in my hands, said "excuse me?" to ask for help, and the person just scooted away without looking at me. Yeah, no. After walking a lap around the store trying to get anyone's attention, I waited near the register with products hoping they would at least try to cash me out. Nothing again. I waited 3-5 minutes without anyone coming to help or even a "I'll be right with you" although there were workers on the floor. I just put my products away and left. I can't support an establishment that prides itself on high vibes and wellness but makes their customers feel like sh!t. Today's experience has been consistent with the past 2-3 other times I've been in and I won't be returning.

The only real "downside" (though it doesn't bother me personally) is that it's very much a Third Avenue corner store. There's usually no shortage of street people and sketchy characters in and around the store. Nothing harmful or dangerous at all, but it's slightly outside the natural comfort zone of middle class white folks who are unaccustomed to city life and socioeconomic diversity.

Trust all the other reviews and go somewhere else. Seriously, don't bother, it really is as bad as the reviews say. Literally 0/10.
