Outstanding service. Brooks and David really go above and beyond the call. I had a relatively new MacBook Pro who's hard-drive died. The technicians at TenPlus took the time and trouble to attempt to recover data from my old drive while transferring it to a new drive. Additionally, they provided backup recommendations and equipment to avoid future issues. I cannot rave about TenPlus enough. After getting back my computer from the Apple Genius Bar with the exact same problem that it went in for, I was able to have TenPlus come out for an onsite repair, saving me a trip back to the apple store with my heavy imac (all covered by AppleCare, btw). I have owned Macs since 1984 and have done business wit Ten Plus for ten years or more. They are extremely professional, very smart and don't have the silliness that seems to be ever present at the Apple retail stores. I buy all of my equipment there and they do all of the service. You can park at the curb and walk about 15 feet in the door and talk with their people without fighting for attention. They are prompt and quick most of the time with their repairs. In April 15, 2016, my Macintosh failed to power on; repeatedly, I could not start it. Frustrated, I contacted Ten Plus. I delivered the Laptop, explained the issues and then Will, at the counter, assured that he clearly comprehended my concerns. He patiently listened to and noted every additional, related issue. After compiling the list of concerns, Will then discussed pricing; the Macintosh is under Warrantee but other charges might apply. He gave me a waiting period of three days, for notification of Findings and the need of my authorization to repair the problems. Will also informed me of expedition, for seventy five dollars my Macintosh immediately gained service. Later, I contacted the store, agreeing to expedition. Contact now occurred in four hours. Robert, of Ten Plus contacted me, as previously indicated, discussed his findings and recommendations. I authorized the repairs and later retrieved the Laptop before the store closed. Because of the Warrantee, I paid nothing for the Hardware related issues. My costs were minimal. Within six hours my system was up and running. I recently had trouble with my Apple display. I took it to the Apple store (Crabtree) and was told that the logic board needed a replacement but Apple no longer supported the item since it was originally purchased in 2009. I took it to TenPlus where the staff friendly. But I received a call a few days later saying the logic board was not the problem. Instead it was the entire screen that needed replacing. The employee was quick to ask if I wanted to scrap the monitor and let them dispose of it for me and perhaps buy a new Apple monitor at about $1000. I declined and picked up my Apple display at a charge of $55. I located an Apple display logic board (eBay) and found another authorized Apple repair service (in Durham) where a technician installed the board. My display works fine because all it needed was a logic board. This is where I lost faith or trust that my issue was serviced or assessed properly. Instead of blaming an entire business I think perhaps it was an isolated employee incident - and a poor employee assessment because there were no tools used to determine a problem. The technician told me over the phone, "It could be 50% the logic board but I think it is an entire screen replacement issue". I felt I was being rushed into scraping an item TenPlus would keep and perhaps repair and possibly resell because no proper technical assessment was determined. I kept hearing over and over, "your monitor is a vintage model" from 2009. I didnt feel that my technical problem was properly assessed and there were no escalation procedures within the business. I will never return here. I brought in my older macbook pro because the Apple store would not work on it because it was older than five years. The gentleman who did the intake was very helpful, polite, and kind. I was bringing it in because I had spilled liquid on my keyboard and over zealously wiped it down, taking off some of the keys. I booted it up in front of the salesman and gave him my passwords. I then shut down my computer and left it with them to get a new keyboard installed. A few days later they called me and said I also needed a fan. I said fine. They called me to pick up my laptop and, being in a hurry, I didn't boot it up while I was still at the store. I have a work laptop, so it was a couple of days before I booted up my mac. It didn't work. I couldn't get past a completely blank blue screen. I called Remy and told him that I couldn't get past a blue screen. After suggesting a few things, and none of them working, he told me to bring it back in. When I brought it in, the woman at the front desk immediately started to imply that there was something wrong with my hard drive and that there was NO WAY they were responsible for my computer's failure. It became slightly contentious, she was rude, Remy was patronizing, and I finally understood all those jokes and cartoons about the way that IT people deal with others: Like we're idiots. I insisted (repeating myself three or four times) that my computer was fine when I brought it in, and whatever caused the blue screen had happened there. Remy asked me to leave the computer with him, he would look at it and get back to me. The woman continued to sneer at me. A couple of days later I received a call from Remy saying that I was correct, there was something that had not been installed correctly when they reloaded the software -- or something like that -- and that he had found the problem and fixed it. So sorry, yada, yada... Recently the left shift key stopped working on my new keyboard -- never had a problem with this computer in seven years until I took it here -- I give up. I emailed Remy asking if I should bring the computer back in and got no response. Which is ultimately fine because I wouldn't trust them with a TI-99. read more

Called in for appointment, I was told to drop in, first come first serve. Dropped in, got extra storage. (Later noticed at home that now my computer was hot and noisy, my computer savy friend know it right away what was the issue) During the wait, the sales person talked to me at length about selling the newest Ipad. Did order one a few days later. When I went to pick up my new Ipad on the given day, also indicating on the phone that I need to adjust the noise and heat on my laptop, the front desk woman said I needed to leave my laptop there for 2 days, for diagnostics. They also did not want to transfer the data from my other Ipad to the new one, unless I make an appointment for another day, at 110/hour. That is unacceptable. I was also coming from Chapel Hill and said so, for which she answered: "I am living there, too" Well, I returned the I pad on the spot, took my business elsewhere. read more

SECRET GEM Ten Plus Systems is excellent. Sucessful small businesses can thrive when they care about people and this company does exactly that. They go above and beyond customer expectations. My first experience with Ten Plus Systems was nurturing and educational. I live and work in the Raleigh/Durham area and I personally know many Apple certified technicians. The technicians that work at Ten Plus Systems, like Brooks, Lizzy, Robert, Hudson or Steven are just as good or better than those at the Apple store locations. In fact, on three separate occasions, I was referred by Apple employees from Apple store locations to go to Ten Plus Systems to have my Apple products serviced, due to the fact that many Apple stores can no longer service certain models of Apple computers. This place is a secret gem that is growing a customer base rapidly in a huge area booming with technology jobs and businesses. Just to get qualified as a licensed Apple retailer is a big deal and these guys definitely take that seriously. Polite, understanding, passionate and professional. What a crew and what a business. I went to Ten Plus to get with some minor cosmetic fixes that the Apple Store wouldn't do anymore on my "vintage" MacBook Pro. The service thus far has been fast. I can't complain about the prices I've been quoted thus far because 1. I haven't gotten my laptop back yet and 2. By nature computer repair is going to be fairly expensive, or so I've been lead to believe. What was originally supposed to be a quick visit to fix my keyboard backlight took a turn. The technicians went ahead and took the initiative to tell me, over the phone, that my hard drive is in prefailure and needs to be replaced. While I didn't even ask them to do a checkup or make any diagnoses, I do now realize that they caught an important problem which needed to be addressed soon. However, they also should've been more ready to provide clarifications for a surprise repair, which leads me to my next point: The guy at the front desk was super nice and easy going-- he even let me bring my dog in to the store! The technicians talking to me over the phone? Not so chill. I've been on the phone with them about three or four times now, and the both the technicians I've spoken to have been short and somewhat condescending. During my interactions over the phone with these workers, I've been asking a fair amount of questions regarding the pricing, and their reasoning. I don't know much about computers, so I want to know why my hard drive needs replacing, and if there are any alternatives. Especially since my initial visit was for cosmetic purposes only. I feel as though my questions have made the technicians impatient, or maybe they've been taken as distrustful. For example, after realizing I'd be sinking some serious cash (for me) into getting a hard drive replacement, I called back after doing some more research; I wanted to see if they could add in some other upgrades that I'd read about online. The guy on the other end of the phone initially just gave me a "no we don't do that here" reply. But the tone of the response after I simply asked "oh how come?" is what bothers me about interacting on the phone with your technicians. He seemed pretty audibly annoyed that he had to spend that time explaining things to me. I understand that my uninformed questions might seem dumb, and that they're probably very common, but that's why I'm buying a service. It should be expected that people want to be informed about whether all the repairs are necessary. I understand that technicians who are swamped, or who want to work on computers, might not be interested in lengthy talks with customers. But I'm also not comfortable paying for something I don't know much about. Overall my experience with TenPlus Systems hasn't been bad. The service has been quick: I only gave them my laptop yesterday, and they've already called me back about fixing it. My face to face interaction with them was excellent. If their technicians can at least pretend to be more patient with customers over phone, and be more willing to provide explanations upfront, then my experience would improve significantly. I cannot offer high enough praise for TenPlus Systems! My iPhone screen cracked in the midst of stay-at-home orders, and I am fully dependent on it for remote work and phone calls. Apple (whose stores were closed) referred me to TenPlus, which was the ONLY Apple-approved repair shop within an hour of my home. I called one evening after 5 pm and was lucky enough to get an appointment the next afternoon. The process couldn't have been easier. The quoted turnaround time was an hour, and I was in and out in 50 minutes. Staff took appropriate precautionary and social distancing measures and were friendly and professional. I can't imagine how busy they must be during this time, yet I watched their small team treat every customer on the phone or in the shop with high levels of patience and respect. I am really impressed and, in the future, will probably skip the long line at the Apple store (a block from my home) if I need service or an accessory. TenPlus can't be beat! read more

Beware SCAM! They charged me $60 just to look at my MacBook Pro when I just brought it in to get the sticky keyboard cleaned. I ended up bringing the computer home and fixing it myself after an incredibly condescending tech tried to tell me that in order to fix my keyboard they would have to replace most of the internal hardware which is absolutely not true. They kept my computer for 4 days to call me back and say that because there is internal water damage to parts like the solid state drive and other components (the computer works perfectly, just sticky keys) it would cost over $600 to repair a 5 year old computer. I did not want/need/ask for them to inspect and he internal hardware. Ultimately they charged $60 which they claimed to be a deposit when I dropped the computer off to not asses my actual problem! My iMac hard drive decided to die after only two years. After hours on the phone with Applecare they told me to take the machine to the Apple store where they told me that there was nothing they could do except replace the hard drive. They could not find any of my files or photos. They said if I wanted to try somewhere else to retrieve the data that there wasn't anyone local and it would cost between $200 and $2,000. I took it to Ten Plus and within minutes I could see all of my files. They were able to pull files off that I needed immediately and they replaced the hard drive under my Apple care warranty in two days. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! They say they specialize in hard drive recovery but couldn't even skim the surface of mine. They referred me to a place that charges $1000 to recover a hard drive. The turn around time on my Macbook Pro keyboard and touchpad repair was slow at best. I was charged $350 for parts and labor. The cashier at the front desk forgot to deduct the diagnostic fee from my total cost and then couldn't even count the money I gave her. Another thing that upset me was the fact that they became inpatient during an email exchange in which I was asking questions about repairs. They responded "We've given you enough information, now are you going to have the repairs done or not?" I thought this was extremely condescending and unprofessional. They also did not let me have the old parts which I had replaced. When I asked why this was, they told me that it was just protocol. I'm sure they are refurbishing them to make a profit. I've been going to TenPlus for a couple of years for service on my MacBook Pro. Today I went in for a one on one session with Jessica. I had a list of questions about problems I was having with different applications. I emailed her the list and she was prepared to answer all of my questions when I arrived. We went through the list one item at a time and she went at MY pace, explaining things in easy to understand language and concepts. She was able to answer all of my questions and help me find solutions to my problems. I cannot overstate how wonderful it was to sit with someone who was so patient and knowledgeable. I had tried to resolve these problems on my own and kept hitting a dead end. It is so nice to spend a short hour with a skilled technician who can answer all my questions and solve all my problems at once. I will be a very loyal customer to TenPlus.
