Solid Best Buy that is part of Crabtree Mall. Luckily they are in a the first mall "plaza" so you don't have to deal with full on mall parking when you just want to go to Best Buy. But, you generally do have to deal with full mall traffic to get there. The employees are always super friendly and every time I've been in someone has asked if I needed help. We were scoping out TVs and trying to compare the different options. It was nice to see so many options laid out right next to each other to compare. I also like wandering the appliances aisles dreaming of how much better my appliances could be. Dreaming over a washer/dryer? That seems like peak adulting level! My son also thoroughly enjoys this store. If you are looking for a fun store to occupy your toddler with this also fits the bill!

The actual TV advertisement. False advertising

Maybe it wasn't a scam but it sure felt like one. bait and switch. I saw an LG OLED TV, open box. It seemed like a good deal and I've bought several TVs from Best Buy over the years. Plus, they so helpfully categorize your open box items to help customers make informed decisions and know what they are getting. The Open Box categorization was "Excellent". According to Best Buy's own criteria "Excellent" means Looks Brand New, Includes All Original Parts and Accessories, Typically contains packaging. See screenie attached. Excellent. What got brought out curbside was a TV in bubble wrap only. I pointed out that it "typically comes with packaging". Your rep said well no, no packaging and if I don't want it anymore that's ok (gee thanks). Almost like this was a common business practice - wheel out a substandard item, see if the customer will take it. Well no box...ok, not that big a deal. He then told me the remote and power cord were wrapped up in the bubble wrap. "And the stand?"..."no stand"..."I can't use it without a stand -..."well we don't have a stand for it".."I'm not talking it without a stand - get a stand and we're good"..."It was the display model, the stand is long gone"..."Then I don't want it"..."OK" and off my truck it came. Like it happens all the time (shrug). Never mind that Open Box and Display Unit are not synonymous. No one batted an eye, no one seemed to think it was at all unusual, or a mistake, that this TV categorized/advertised "Excellent" didn't meet Best Buy's own stated criteria. Like it went on All. The. Time. No effort, no initiative - like that is their training. They may want to say it's an honest mistake, but I sure didn't get that 'mistake' vibe. No one tried to make it right (I asked for a stand), folks quickly pivoted to "ok you can cancel the transaction" as if (shrug) maybe it'll work next time. No harm in trying, and backtrack right away if there is any push back, tell the customer to just cancel the order. The TV didn't even meet their own 'satisfactory' criteria. It met 'fair' criteria o Vital accessories may be missing Like a stand. The rep said it's best with Open Box items to come look at them in the store, don't just order. Like he knew the "Excellent" category was fiction at best (and outright fraud at worst). Or else why would he say that? Why would he express ZERO confidence in his company's advertisements, in how his company represents products? I'm trying to come up with a scenario or explanation other than employees know the open box categorizations are bait-and-switch...and I'm not having much luck. Why would I need to come see something that you advertise, promise "Looks Brand New, Includes All Original Parts and Accessories, Typically contains packaging? Well if you are dealing with an unethical business it would be a good idea. I guess BB's own employees think the company is unethical. Was almost impossible to get the Store GM's contact info. Over an hour with India. Finally got a Supe who promised me he was going to get the GM contact number and call me back in 30 minutes. I knew it was a lie. I told him I knew it was a lie. But I went along. This was the only thing on which Best Buy didn't disappoint: there was no call, as I predicted. It was all a kiss-off. oh - I learned from the national customer service center rep I talked to - no one in Best Buy stores gets the calls, they are routed to the national reps. If you want to talk to someone in the store, you have to go down in person. That is how much you are valued. They don't want to have to talk to you. This was just the Raleigh store. Bill at Southpoint store seems like a good guy, said if it had been his store he'd have for sure made it right. And I believe him. Crabtree did offer to try make it right. I declined. No trust I wouldn't somehow get ripped off in the process,. Maybe it wasn't a bait and switch scam, but it sure felt like it, how slick it was, how easily they pivoted to "oh just cancel then". It felt...like it happens all the time. It's so crazy how poorly they treat customers, when they have been bleeding customers for years. That should tell you something. Shop elsewhere. I'm not at all convinced it was all innocent mistake. Someone should really look onto it. I'm on to the TV stations and DA.

Like other big box stores, Best Buys are very cookie cutter operations. Sadly, there aren't many options for electronics when you want to shop local. This one looks just like every other outside and in. A security associate (greeter?) gave me a "hey" when I walked in. I went right to the area I needed and found my desired widget quickly. The price, however, was not so good. I have the "RedLaser" app on my phone. This awesome app can read barcodes and looks them up on the Internet to tell you who has the best price. My widget was $49.99 on the shelf, but $29.99 on bestbuy.com. I showed it to the blue-shirted associate and he said that they would match the price in the store. Done deal! So if you're buying from Best Buy, I'd really recommend you check prices first or while your shopping. Otherwise, you will end up spending way more than you should!

First of all, I was charged an additional (on top of the regular delivery fee) $150 for a large appliance fee. One would think that this would ensure that a smooth and professional delivery would ensue. The 2 guys who delivered my 48" range were clowns to say the least. They put the range up "on one end" and my heart just sank. By the time they got it inside, one door was scratched. Plus who knows about the guts of the range. We filed the damage report and here it is 4 weeks later and the technician has come to replace the door only to find out that something else (a hinge?) was damaged and that needs to be ordered as well before the repair can be fully completed. Also, technician said that the installer should of "leveled" the range. The DID NOT !! What was that extra $150 for ?? I wouild think that a refund in that department is due to us. I am so glad we chose to buy our other new appliances elsewhere.

The salesperson who assisted us did not know the status of their inventory, quoted a 3 to 5 week deliver (when our washer had just failed), and outrageous prices. She was the most unhelpful person ever. Plus, the noise was deafening while they were doing repairs. No one was friendly, no one went out of their way to help us. AVOID at all costs!!!!! We went to Home Depot, found just the right washer for a great price and delivery in 3 to 5 days. I will NEVER go back to Garner Appliance. Beware.

They assured a call back. Days past and I called them and finally got a callback a week later. We agreed on terms and I got an install scheduled for July 20. Installer (owner) arrives gets the old machine out and new one installed to test. Error code comes up that could not be resolved. I inquired about other options but everything was sold. The only diagnosis was an error code indicating to contact whirlpool. A week later we had a service person come to perform a warranty repair. They needed to order a kill switch. It took over 3 weeks to get the part. They come back to install and it is missing a $2 bracket to install the switch. 11 days later we have a working dishwasher. We were without a dishwasher for about 2 months. The savings was not worth washing a lot of dishes by hand for 2 months. Also if we bought at a big box store they would have replaced the unit much sooner. I did also inquire about an additional discount for my trouble, but only received snide remarks from Christina. Needless to say buyer beware. If you want an unprofessional amateur experience then discount appliance is the store for you.

It's not credit application based and you can lease appliances and furniture on your own terms. The customer service at this location is phenomenal. The delivery service was exceptional as well. I did not want to rent a monthly washer and dryer and decided to lease to own so that when I move my appliances come with me. Aaron's also offers free repairs plus delivery service which is an exceptional value. I completed the application on their online portal in store and was instantly approved. Within minutes I chose an affordable set and made my first payment. 3 days later in a timely fashion the technicians arrived and delivered my appliances. Very happy with the energy efficient GE washer and dryer set I have. The sales guy shared that the appliances had 1 previous owner who returned the appliance rather quickly when they had to relocate. I received a really good retail price. Very happy with this Aaron's and would definitely give them my business again.
