I cannot express how amazing Tenji is! An old Wendy's on the outside, but nice renovations inside. The fish is fresh and delicious. Their rolls are pretty big and are so tasty. I have gone twice in a span of one week! First time, I went with my family and when I took all these pictures. The second time was on Valentine's Day. The staff are amazing and so kind. Even with a packed house, they still provide great service. You can tell how loved this place is by how many people were waiting to get in on Valentine's Day! I will definitely be coming back to try out more!

It was hard to wrap our heads around the fact that this was obviously, previously a Wendy's. They tried to make the inside inviting, but it's just bizarre. However, we read the food was great, so we met our friends there. Our server was very soft spoken and didn't exude confidence, but she did a very good job. The sushi IS very good. We had the Hana Roll and our companion had the Mexican Roll with no sauce. Both were very fresh. The yellowtail nigiri was also perfectly fresh and lovely. The vegetable tempura was just okay. We didn't love the sauce, and it was the last dish served at our table? There was one piece of onion ring, broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, and two pieces of sweet potato. Our friend was confused by her Bento Box as the fried rice she asked for was odd, and the shrimp came one fried, and three in a sauce. The Tonkatsu Ramen was good, but not great. The broth was flavorful, but the noodles were all in a solid clump, and the egg was whole instead of cut in two, so I had to take it out and cut it with a knife. The pork was tender but didn't stand out. I ordered miso cod as it is one of my favorite dishes, but they just re-did their menu and took that off. Bummer.

I ordered takeout and only tried the sushi. My thoughts: not horrible, but not good. I got the Kings Island Roll ($14.95), Hana Roll ($15.95), and Salmon Roll ($7.45). All three tasted fishy and the salmon wasn't fresh. Prices are similar to other spots in the area, but the quality is worse. Side note: the online menu prices are outdated, everything I ordered was $1 more than listed. Even if it were cheaper, I wouldn't come back for the sushi. Not worth it.

First time here and by far the best sushi I've had in Cincinnati! I ordered the chirashi and the fish was so fresh and flavorful. My boyfriend got two rolls and they were tasty and filling. The server was very attentive and all the plating details were so cute. The restaurant was quiet and clean, a good choice for a casual dinner.

We've been here twice now and I can say it is one of my favorite places to get sushi in the area. The sushi and sashimi is 50% off and taste amazingly fresh. Service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

Stepped into Tenji on a Monday evening and had the entire dining hall to ourselves. The waitress is very sweet and friendly. We tried their otoro nirigi, aburi salmon nigiri, Valentine Roll and sashimi truffle appetizer. They all were delicious! Their sashimi is 50%, so definitely take advantage of that deal!

Stopped for a late lunch & was pleasantly surprised with menu selections & pricing. Food was delicious, attentive service & casual atmosphere. Would recommend & we'll be returning!

This is hands down the best sushi in the area. Fresh, beautiful presentation, great preparation with details and flavors you don't see elsewhere. The outside didn't do this place justice. Friendly staff And sushi chef comes over to table often.

Updating my review since they have changed ownership recently. Sushi is on par and they really have some interesting choices. The bluefin tuna, salmon and shima aji (recommended by the chef) were amazing. And right now, all sushi is 50% off. Rolls were good but I have to admit, with the sushi being so great, I'd just go get some of the special fish they have not seen everywhere. They were out of the sweet shrimp, so looking forward to trying that again next time. Service was great. Servers were attentive and friendly.

They grill it up with your choice of noodles and or fried rice and serve it direct to your table. In addition there was a wide selection of sushi rolls, rice wrapped and fried. With a variety of California style rolls, fish, shrimp, squid and others. The Sashimi also had quite a selection tuna, salmon, squid, seaweed salad and more. Overall there was a nice selection and all of the food was fresh and tasty. The servers www very pleasant and kept our drinks full. We would definitely try this again.

Why is everything deep fried? Ok, I may be slightly exaggerating and not everything is deep fried but I would say roughly 90% of the dishes are. Not good. This place needs some variety. Some greens even. Sushi: 1/10 rating. Once again, more than half of the sushi is deep fried. What's up with this place and frying everything? Additionally, a good chunk of their sushi selection had cheese. Now, if you were to find a roll you liked, I wouldn't recommend even eating it. That sushi looked like it's been sitting out for a couple hours. I stuck to the sashimi. Salmon was the only edible item. I ate about 10 saucer trays and noticed they stop putting any more out. Deserts: 3/10 rating. You're probably wondering how they mess up desserts if everything is just preordered. Well many of the desserts have been sitting out way too long much like the sushi. When I thought it couldn't get worse, I try the ice cream. Tried a vanilla and a chocolate cup. They somehow failed storing ice cream cause it was not solid. Ice cream had the consistency of sour cream and the chocolate tasted sour. Ambiance: 1/10 rating. You want to play janky covers of songs? Fine. You want to have a bunch of nonfunctional bubble fountains? Fine. But the guy should not be screaming the entire time. Why the F am I able to hear you at the sushi area from my table? They're not dogs. You don't need to be shouting commands at them. Service: 5/10 rating. Can't say I expect much from servers. You're collecting the finished plates and refilling drinks then that's a 10/10. Unfortunately our server forgot one and never once refilled our water. The other Tokyo Hibachi Buffets found in Beavercreek and Kettering are better. This particular one is definitely a pass.

I would try it again, but would probably seek out a different place to try first to compare. First, I found the ordering process a bit confusing. Their website advertises BOGO rolls but it's unclear how the second roll is taken off the bill. I was expecting to see a second roll deducted from my bill but didn't, so I called and found out that there is a plus icon under every roll that indicates a second one. I could see this after that, and it made sense. I was coordinating an order for 6 adults so there were several different rolls in our order plus all the free ones. When we picked up the food to split, it was all on one giant platter. This was fun (and I'm glad it saved waste) but we couldn't tell which roll was which and which was the second free one. I wish I would have known to ask for takeout containers to split up the extra also. Another note about the ordering- there is nowhere on the website to enter a pre-set pickup time (only default 25-30 minute option) so you'd have to either order right before pickup or call the restaurant like I did to change the time on your order. I also ordered vegetable fried rice and green gyoza. The fried rice was good but not great. It was hot and fresh, but just not as flavorful so I topped it with more of my gyoza sauce. The green gyoza were not good. The skin was dry and stiff, and the inside was a starchy filling, almost like chickpea or another starchy bean. It was not the soft wrappers with smooth fresh filling I expected, and I was bummed cause I was looking forward to them so much. Our order was on time and the restaurant had easy parking and entry. But besides that, I found all of the aspects of this takeout experience to be just okay.

After a quick search on…read moregoogle and Yelp she found this restaurant and based on the reviews decided to check it out. It's located in a strip mall next to Kroger. It's a smallish restaurant that has six 4+ top tables and a sushi bar. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by a nice woman who was also our waitress and prepared food. The menu included some basic sushi rolls, a few speciality rolls, hibachi items, rice bowls and appetizers. It's small but includes a lot of classics. We ordered two house salads, miso soup, gyoza, crab Rangoon, spicy tuna roll, tempura California roll, and Thai boba tea. (We were hungry!) We had read a few reviews that service was slow but we had the opposite experience. The food came out extremely fast! Our salads and soup arrived first and then almost everything arrived at once, hot and fresh! The restaurant only had 2 other seated tables but they had a fair amount of togo orders while we were waiting. Let's start with salad and soup - traditional hibachi type salad and soup. The salad had the dressing on the side in cute heart shaped bowl. The soup was traditional and was hot and tasty. Next up appetizers - the menu didn't indicate the gyoza was deep fried but it was very good too. Crispy on the outside and moist and filling in the middle. The crab Rangoon had been mentioned in previous reviews and I'm so glad we tried it. It's on the sweeter side but filling is very creamy with pieces of imitation crab. I'd recommend them both. Finally onto the rolls - my daughter loved her California tempura roll - packed with traditional California roll filling and perfectly fried. My spicy tuna roll was extremely delicious, a little spicy and packed with flavor. Our total was $45, but we had a really great and extremely filling meal. I'd highly recommend dining in or ordering togo. Service was excellent and our waitress was so nice. One last detail, they have wooden chairs with smiley faces cut out.
