She was visibly upset and I was taken aback by this reaction. I usually tip 15% to 20% but this time she cut five minutes off the session and did not help me put my socks and shoes back on, which she usually did. I am a disabled veteran and bending is sometimes difficult for me. As a result, I will not be going here any more. I have two other places I can go to and never get an angry reaction like that because of a tip. Perhaps Helen did not understand that a tip is always optional and not required. Perhaps her supervisor will teach her that so that Evergreen Tree doesn't lose any more clients.

The massage was merely mediocre at best. 1. I made the…read moreappointment online the day before. When I arrived 5 min before my appointed time, the person who met me at the door had no idea I had an appointment. She had to call someone to verify. That can be forgiven as simple oversite. 2. During the entire massage, people kept coming in and she had to go help them. Again, this is fine except she left the door open. 3. Most of the foot massage was just vigorous rubbing. There was no reflexology, no pointed work on different parts of my feet or leg muscles. The best part of the massage was the 5 min at the beginning and at the end when she simply put her body weight on me to stretch or relieve pressure. 4. At the end when I paid, she insisted I give a 20% tip because she "took great care" in my massage. I work in the service industry. You NEVER demand a tip. How ridiculous!! She was lucky I gave the tip I did based on the service I received. I will NEVER go back here again and would never recommend this place to anyone.

I've been coming here for over a year now, for monthly massage therapy. I couldn't be happier! My…read morejob takes a toll on my muscles and if I didn't have the care I do here, I'd be in constant pain. I've seen a lot of the therapists here but Alyssa is my favorite by far! She listens to what you are looking for (if your shoulders have been stiff, or if you want a relaxing massage that day), she's really strong, and very skilled at making knotty muscles behave! I love that I can ask her for the sciencey-answer to what she's doing or what muscles are locked up; it empowers me to learn more about my body and how to care for it afterwards! The spa itself offers convenient online booking, it's very clean and peaceful (and looks down onto the ocean!), and their customer service is top notch. I use their Wellness Plan option, which offers a year of monthly massage appointments for a slight discount. Love it!! I hope this place stays here forever. And the fact that it's right beside the ocean means that if you want to continue relaxing after your massage, you can just walk downstairs and sit on the beach.

Hmmmm. Since baby was born I have not had a chance to do…read moreanything for myself. Baby is now 9 months and my husband generously purchased a surprise facial & massage. I left pretty disappointed. 5 Stars facial -- The facial was awesome. The esthetician was so sweet and bubbly. She explained what was going to happen and her positive energy alone was 5+++ Stars. I would go back solely for future facials with her :) The massage: it was by a girl named Jennifer. After reading the reviews I'm saddens that I got a newbie vs. Marisa. It was the worst massage I have ever gotten. When the masseuse came in to meet me after I had spoken to the esthetician she was not warm - and bland. I told her I wanted deep tissue & to not be gentle. It started off ok, but as she got further along I thought "did I pay for a massage or merely to be inadequately rubbed with lotion". You know the massage isn't great when you're left laying there wondering when it's going to be over and it feeling like it's taking forever. I have had better relief when getting out of a long shower. Total disappointment ... :(

I was scheduled to have a major surgery, and Jen was incredibly flexible in squeezing me in TWICE last minute. She not only relaxed my muscles, but put my mind at ease entirely. I'm convinced I will recover swiftly thanks to her masterful hands. Jen is a queen-of-all-trades and reads your body like a master. In one of our sessions alone, she used the many modalities of deep tissue, swedish, craniosacral, Thai stretching, reiki, and intra-oral on my TMJ to fix the popping issue, as well as some deep belly massage to work on my incredibly tight psoas muscles. How many practitioners do you know that can fit all that into a single session? I've had many, many massages over the years, and Jen has helped my body so much in such a short time. I haven't felt this loose in ages. Do yourself and your body a favor, book a session with her and you'll leave feeling incredibly relaxed and blissful. Thanks again, Jen

I received a wonderful massage from Palesteen today…read more I was lucky enough to be her FIRST client since she has returned to her practice after she took almost exactly a year off due to the pandemic! I chose to receive a massage from Palesteen because her office is fairly close to my home, I felt safer and felt that it was lower risk to receive from her since I was going to be one of her first clients in about a year (I didn't know until I got there, and she told me, that I was the number one first client since she took time off!), and because of her glowing reviews here on yelp! I would like to add a glowing review of my own. I had a very good experience with Palesteen. I arrived about 10 minutes early in order to fill out my new client intake forms, which were very thorough in their scope. Palesteen was wearing a mask, and I was wearing a mask too. She wore the mask consistently and correctly (covering both her nose and mouth) throughout the entire appointment. The massage room was spotlessly clean, and Palesteen assured me that everything had been sanitized prior to my arrival. After I filled out the intake forms, Palesteen offered me hand sanitizer, which I accepted. Palesteen asked me if I had to go to the restroom prior to our massage, and I really did, so I was glad that she asked! The restroom was spotlessly clean, too. Palesteen asked if I had brought in the small plastic basket (that I had with me) as a tote to store my clothing while I received the massage. When I said yes, she made me smile by saying that was a "genius" idea that I had. :) Palesteen checked in with me a few times during the massage about the level of pressure, which was very good - firm enough to feel like it was doing something, but not too deep. During the massage I remembered to ask her to avoid/go very light pressure on my inner wrist area. When she got to my other arm, she checked in with me about which area exactly to avoid/go easy on. This made me feel comfortable and cared for. I had requested my upper forearms and my mid-back as focus areas, and Palesteen spent a good amount of time in both areas. She did good work. I haven't had a massage in months due to the pandemic, and I'm glad that I chose Palesteen as the massage therapist with whom I resumed receiving massage. I had brought in my own oil with me (a blend of almond oil, apricot kernel oil, and vanilla and citrus fragrance), and Palesteen was happy to use that oil for my massage. Draping was good, and the sheets were clean and comfortable. I loved the choice of music and the volume of music - very relaxing. Palesteen and I had a nice chat during my massage. I felt nervous since she was a new therapist for me, so I got a bit chatty. She put me at ease and made me feel comfortable in her space. I had a few moments where I gave her some feedback about the pressure in a couple of specific areas, and she was very responsive to my feedback, which I appreciated. I am a massage therapy school graduate, although I have never practiced massage professionally. I graduated from Port Townsend School of Massage in 2016. Palesteen graduated from Cortiva School of Massage in 2012. Cortiva closed its doors before the pandemic, but I know it was a good massage school, with a high quality of massage education. Palesteen seems like she really has it together. I'm pleased to recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great massage therapist in the Shoreline area.

Thanks to Palesteen, I've experienced improvements in my neck pain and general anxiety. I also love that Palestine's business is owned and run by her. It feels great to support a small business that's built on such care and wisdom. Her studio space feels clean, peaceful and serene and has a convienent location. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who genuinely cares and truly listens.
