It's taken 6 months to schedule an appointment and then…read morewhen trying to schedule I was told I wasn't a good fit because the receptionist apparently thought I was using a tone of voice she did my like. When I tried to rectify the situation I was told she could ban me from the spa and hung up on. I tore to call back, but I got no response. I'm very upset, because I tried to get the appointment made and was denied because the receptionist did my want to accept my attempt to rectify her perceived attitude from me. This unwillingness to have a discourse was very upsetting and hurtful,

The office is clean and I liked that you can now tip using a your card (the old office didn't used to do that and I don't carry cash all the time). I also liked the ease of access and easy scheduling online. Massage - I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and I have a lot of aches and pains. I don't like firm/deep massages and I liked that Trudi can adjust the pressure to my liking. I also truly appreciate the silence during my massage session. Trudi will tell me before we start "this is your time. Relax" and she'll do her thing while I dose off. I have been with other massage therapists and most of them likes to talk and you end up listening to their life story instead of relaxing. I have 2 other kids and 1 hour of silence while getting a massage is such a treat for me!

My…read morejob takes a toll on my muscles and if I didn't have the care I do here, I'd be in constant pain. I've seen a lot of the therapists here but Alyssa is my favorite by far! She listens to what you are looking for (if your shoulders have been stiff, or if you want a relaxing massage that day), she's really strong, and very skilled at making knotty muscles behave! I love that I can ask her for the sciencey-answer to what she's doing or what muscles are locked up; it empowers me to learn more about my body and how to care for it afterwards! The spa itself offers convenient online booking, it's very clean and peaceful (and looks down onto the ocean!), and their customer service is top notch. I use their Wellness Plan option, which offers a year of monthly massage appointments for a slight discount. Love it!! I hope this place stays here forever. And the fact that it's right beside the ocean means that if you want to continue relaxing after your massage, you can just walk downstairs and sit on the beach.

Hmmmm. Since baby was born I have not had a chance to do…read moreanything for myself. Baby is now 9 months and my husband generously purchased a surprise facial & massage. I left pretty disappointed. 5 Stars facial -- The facial was awesome. The esthetician was so sweet and bubbly. She explained what was going to happen and her positive energy alone was 5+++ Stars. I would go back solely for future facials with her :) The massage: it was by a girl named Jennifer. After reading the reviews I'm saddens that I got a newbie vs. Marisa. It was the worst massage I have ever gotten. When the masseuse came in to meet me after I had spoken to the esthetician she was not warm - and bland. I told her I wanted deep tissue & to not be gentle. It started off ok, but as she got further along I thought "did I pay for a massage or merely to be inadequately rubbed with lotion". You know the massage isn't great when you're left laying there wondering when it's going to be over and it feeling like it's taking forever. I have had better relief when getting out of a long shower. Total disappointment ... :(

The massage that I received worked on a lot of areas that were tight and I walked out of there so happy. I seriously almost cried. It feels so much better. I will be a returning customer for sure. I have had many massages over the years, and this was by far the most unprofessional and…read moredistressing experience I have ever had. The session began without a proper intake. I was not asked about injuries, medical history, areas to avoid, or consent preferences. Within the first few seconds of the session, the therapist began applying very aggressive, deep pressure with no warm-up strokes. Only after already working on me intensely did she ask what kind of pressure I wanted. I said "medium." While actively massaging me, she began attempting to upsell me to a higher-priced "therapeutic" massage and repeatedly stated that "relaxation will not help you." I had already booked a relaxation massage. I clearly told her that I was carrying significant grief, including the death of my father, and that I was specifically seeking a gentle, soothing experience for my mental health. I explained that I did not want deep tissue work. Despite this, she continued with very firm, painful pressure and stated that she was "here to help" and that relaxation would not be sufficient. Throughout the session, I repeatedly communicated that the pressure was too firm. I used phrases such as "that's tender," "that's sore," and "that's too firm." When I identified areas as painful, she would return to those same spots with deep pressure rather than easing up. She would ask, "Is that better?" and I would say yes simply to get her to move on from areas that were extremely painful. I was not experiencing relief -- I was trying to endure the session. I understand that massage can sometimes be uncomfortable, and I am not new to massage. I was very specifically not seeking deep tissue work during this appointment. It became clear to me that what I wanted, what I booked, and what I paid for did not matter. She chose to focus on tender areas and overwork them despite my requests. At one point she performed a very deep stretch on my arm that went too far, causing my body to involuntarily spasm. I had to ask her to stop because it was extremely painful. In response, she said things like, "You're so young, you can't raise your arms?" and implied that it was difficult because my body was "heavy." The comments strongly suggested that my body size was the reason for the difficulty, which felt body-shaming and inappropriate. During the session I became visibly and audibly distressed. I was fully crying and clearly in pain. Despite this, the massage continued with aggressive pressure. Later, while I was trying to compose myself, she asked, "Are you scared of me?" Regardless of intent, this comment felt inappropriate in the context of the distress I had already expressed. There were also issues with positioning and draping. The face rest was removed at one point to work on my neck and was not immediately replaced when she moved on, leaving my head unsupported for a period of time. Portions of my body were not consistently re-draped after she moved to different areas. I wanted to end the session early, but I felt overwhelmed and froze rather than feeling able to get up and leave. I left physically sore, emotionally shaken, and deeply disrespected. While some soreness can occur after massage, this experience was not therapeutic or restorative. I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking consent-based or, relaxation-focused massage.
