I received a wonderful massage from Palesteen today. I was lucky enough to be her FIRST client since she has returned to her practice after she took almost exactly a year off due to the pandemic! I chose to receive a massage from Palesteen because her office is fairly close to my home, I felt safer and felt that it was lower risk to receive from her since I was going to be one of her first clients in about a year (I didn't know until I got there, and she told me, that I was the number one first client since she took time off!), and because of her glowing reviews here on yelp! I would like to add a glowing review of my own. I had a very good experience with Palesteen. I arrived about 10 minutes early in order to fill out my new client intake forms, which were very thorough in their scope. Palesteen was wearing a mask, and I was wearing a mask too. She wore the mask consistently and correctly (covering both her nose and mouth) throughout the entire appointment. The massage room was spotlessly clean, and Palesteen assured me that everything had been sanitized prior to my arrival. After I filled out the intake forms, Palesteen offered me hand sanitizer, which I accepted. Palesteen asked me if I had to go to the restroom prior to our massage, and I really did, so I was glad that she asked! The restroom was spotlessly clean, too. Palesteen asked if I had brought in the small plastic basket (that I had with me) as a tote to store my clothing while I received the massage. When I said yes, she made me smile by saying that was a "genius" idea that I had. :) Palesteen checked in with me a few times during the massage about the level of pressure, which was very good - firm enough to feel like it was doing something, but not too deep. During the massage I remembered to ask her to avoid/go very light pressure on my inner wrist area. When she got to my other arm, she checked in with me about which area exactly to avoid/go easy on. This made me feel comfortable and cared for. I had requested my upper forearms and my mid-back as focus areas, and Palesteen spent a good amount of time in both areas. She did good work. I haven't had a massage in months due to the pandemic, and I'm glad that I chose Palesteen as the massage therapist with whom I resumed receiving massage. I had brought in my own oil with me (a blend of almond oil, apricot kernel oil, and vanilla and citrus fragrance), and Palesteen was happy to use that oil for my massage. Draping was good, and the sheets were clean and comfortable. I loved the choice of music and the volume of music - very relaxing. Palesteen and I had a nice chat during my massage. I felt nervous since she was a new therapist for me, so I got a bit chatty. She put me at ease and made me feel comfortable in her space. I had a few moments where I gave her some feedback about the pressure in a couple of specific areas, and she was very responsive to my feedback, which I appreciated. I am a massage therapy school graduate, although I have never practiced massage professionally. I graduated from Port Townsend School of Massage in 2016. Palesteen graduated from Cortiva School of Massage in 2012. Cortiva closed its doors before the pandemic, but I know it was a good massage school, with a high quality of massage education. Palesteen seems like she really has it together. I'm pleased to recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great massage therapist in the Shoreline area. read more

I received a gift card for this studio & scheduled an appointment for my birthday. I was traveling up to the day of the appointment, flew in on a redeye only to learn I'd accidentally scheduled the appointment for the previous day. I called as soon as I realized to apologize & rebook the following month - stating per the policy, I understood the the amount of the 90 minute massage had to be invoiced; but that it could also be used towards the next massage. A gentleman called me back & said "We understand things happen, but we will have to invoice the gift card & you will have to prepay for the massage you booked, next month." I responded by saying "You all don't seem very understanding, at all. This massage was given to me as a gift & since I can't afford to prepay - I'll just cancel my session." This cost a lot of money. I called to explain the situation and the gentleman showed no signs of empathy. Not exactly the birthday gift or professional service experience I'd hoped for. I get being charged a percentage of the appointment, but charging in full & not applying that payment to the rebooking is so far from being "understanding". Updating to 3 vs 1 after the owner reached out, but seriously - automate reminders. Nobody would be happy about being charged $200 for a service they didn't receive, especiallywhen looking forward to it. I had a legitimate reason for missing my appointment & a little grace would've been nice. Also, per the website - you state the full amount would be credited to the next scheduled appointment for first time clients, but on the phone I was told I'd need to prepay... lowering back to a 2, now that I have the evidence to support my frustration. read more

I can't say enough good things about Palesteen! She's been my go-to massage therapist for years, since before the pandemic, and I'm so grateful to have found her. Not only is she reliable, professional and incredibly skilled, but she has this wonderful, mothering vibe that instantly makes you feel safe and cared for. Palesteen is also one of the most generous and intuitive people I know. She always knows how to help with the tension I carry, especially in my neck, which has been a chronic issue for me. Thanks to Palesteen, I've experienced improvements in my neck pain and general anxiety. I also love that Palestine's business is owned and run by her. It feels great to support a small business that's built on such care and wisdom. Her studio space feels clean, peaceful and serene and has a convienent location. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who genuinely cares and truly listens. read more

Palasteen is a treasure! Very communicative and a great listener, she really pays attention to what is going on with your body and responds not only to your verbal communication but also to how your body is reacting. I left feeling like jello in the best possible way. Very simple uncluttered setup which a really appreciated. She also has a warm very grounded vibe. read more

Palesteen is not only a miracle worker, she is extremely kind and talented as well. I've tried to practice more self care over the few years and I'm very glad I found her. She checks in on the pressure during the massage, she listens if you want to chat, allows you space when you don't and knows the difference between the two! The best part is, if the massage is an hour...she means an hour! Not like other chains who take up time and a 60min massage becomes 35! Her prices are very fair especially for her skill, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay with her if her prices were to increase in the future. read more

Excellent massage. Very responsive to requests for attention to problem areas, degree of pressure, etc. Very reasonable rates. Highly recommended. Logistics: Location, in an office building is easy to find with plenty of convenient parking. Online appointment software is excellent. read more

I have been getting amazing massages here for the past several years. The price discounts on package deals can't be beat, and Palesteen is responsive to client needs as well as highly knowledgeable about the best approaches to use for different types of muscle problems. Palesteen genuinely cares about the health and well being of all clients and it shows. I highly recommend her services! read more

I have been going to Palesteen for over a year now for both pre-natal and relaxation massage. She has the wonderful gift of being both professional and personal at the same time which is so important in this line of work. Aside from being a skilled masseuse, the main thing I appreciate about her is her extensive knowledge and whole body approach to pain and relaxation. She truly cares about her clients and takes individual lifestyles into consideration when addressing the physical body. I like that she does not pressure you into buying multiple sessions, but instead gives suggestions for home stretching and posture mindfulness to maximize the work she does in office. read more

Amazing and talented! She is magical. None better in Seattle. I sing her praises. I walked in with pain and out feeling human once again. I won't wait so long next time! read more

I've been going to Palesteen for a few months. I originally went for prenatal massages and continued to go after I gave birth. Palesteen is very professional and caring. I experience constant neck, shoulder and back pain in my new mommy body. I prefer firm pressure and she more than delivers. At the end of every massage I feel renewed - so relaxed and serene! Appointments are easy to book online and the rates are unbeatable. I will definitely keep coming back for more! read more

Palesteen is so warm and comforting she immediately puts me at ease. She's very skilled at her job and always makes sure I am given special attention to areas that need relief. What a find. Palesteen was amazing! I won't be going anywhere else! Not only did she give me my fist appointment at 50% off, she had packages designed to make healing your body affordable. I would give her 10 stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and call to book your appointment today! read more

I have had numerous massages with Pal and have been incredibly appreciative of her skills and caring. My boyfriend and I both really appreciate how attentive she is and it seems that she always gives us a bit of extra time if there's something particular that she feels needs more attention. Recently she asked if I liked the music and the water that she was serving and the subsequent time that I came in for a massage she had followed my suggestions :-) what a sweetheart! Although we only found her relatively recently, both of us have had several massages with her that lasted an hour and a half to two hours. That said I think that I can strongly recommend her services! read more

Have to agree Palenteen is a great masseuse. I went in having a lot of shoulder and back pain and I left as good as new. I look forward to my next appointment with her. read more

I had my first appointment with Palesteen and it was awesome. Before the massage, she did a great job asking me all kinds of questions to get to know me and the kind of massage that I like. It was a really great massage. She checked in enough to make sure I was comfortable but allowed me space to breathe and zone out! I left feeling relaxed and ready for the weekend. I will be back! read more

I suffer from chronic anxiety disorder and a big company is too much for me. Palesteen provides a very understanding and simplistic environment which is perfect for anxious me. She was able to figure out why I'm having pain, explain it to me and give me homework to help me feel better, which I love. I suffered a panic attack recently and went to see her afterwards, I walked in with a very high breath rate and walked out with my hyperventilating gone. Relaxing is very hard and foreign to me but she is a great teacher. My mother suffers from decades long chronic pain and has been seeing a massage therapist regularly, I told her about Palesteen and brought her in. She told me after that she was the first therapist to make a noticeable difference in her pain and truly listen to what she needs. Her prices are are very reasonable! Highly recommended by myself and two other members of my family that she has helped. Don't waste money at big massage companies, support Palesteen's private practice and you won't be disappointed!! read more

I first went to Palesteen when I developed a knot in one buttock muscle I had a very difficult time stretching. Her deep tissue massage helped me get the release I desperately needed and she gave very helpful tips on what I could do to stretch and massage the area on my own. I also had the pleasure of a full body massage in addition to the target area. She has such skillful hands I brought my 8 year old daughter to her for back pain. She again brought a release and relaxation I have never seen in any of my three kids. So I am sending her two more clients: my 23 year old daughter and my longtime friend. read more

Palesteen has an amazing talent. I left my appointment feeling throughly relaxed and full of gratitude to have found her. She worked on my neck and shoulders, areas that I have high anxiety and subsequent tensions in. I felt completely at ease throughout, with no worries or overthinking. read more

Palesteen is everything I was hoping for in a massage visit. She was so calming and professional and sweet! She checked in throughout the massage and spent the perfect amount of time "digging", smoothing, stretching, and hot towel. The first visit is 50% off so get the 90-min! She includes a face and scalp massage in the full body package and I'll absolutely be going back! read more

Beautiful massage studio and a top notch massage by an incredible massage therapist. I went there yesterday for the 1st time and am already planning my 2nd visit. Between being a father of 3 young daughters, and a full time chef, I am constantly moving, twisting, bending, and lifting, so a good relaxing and rejuvenating massage was just what I needed. I appreciate that Pal really took the time to hear my needs, and did a posture assessment as well to really maximize my time on the table. Urban Healing Arts Studio is legit! read more

From start to finish this was an amazing experience. Pal is so warm and inviting and her massage studio is like going to a retreat. I was given a 60 minute massage to heal my body after a stressful week and I can say mission accomplished. Pal took time to address my needs and gave me the attention to the areas I discussed in our intake. I only wish I had booked a longer 90 minute massage and I will next visit for sure. Booking my appointment online was so easy and payment taken after my service was super convenient to have all without leaving the treatment room .I highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to really get a great massage and feel the nurturing therapeutic touch that Pal has. read more

Very happy with my massage today! I bought a package and booked 5 more appointments. First massage is half off. Great deal, close to home and Palenteen was very professional and knew her stuff. She was great with my trouble areas and was good with feedback. I can't wait for my next appointment! read more

I had such a great massage experience with Palesteen. She was extremely caring, helpful and her massage techniques did quite a bit to help my chronic issues. I felt very cared for because she listened to me and made sure I was comfortable at all times. And her pricing is so reasonable for the quality you get. A truly great massage experience! read more

Had my first massage with Pal and it was awesome! From being able to easily book an appointment online to the actual massage. She has a wonderful touch, is welcoming and kind and takes the time to understand what you need from the massage. I had a foot injury and a hip injury from 6 months ago that I was able to get help with and feel a difference in. She also has an intuitive touch and communicates well with what she's doing. Will definitely be returning. read more
