Great Coffee Shop. I love their coffee. Roasted by the owner and her staff so the coffee always is rich and has that great fresh coffee flavor. I stop here everyday almost and the rest of the guys that work with me I got them hooked too. Also you can bring freshly ground coffee home. This is the only cafe (non-franchise) in the area. It makes me sad because the coffee is pretty good. I walked in there one day with my mom, excited to have found a cafe in Shirley. I felt this very uncomfortable, cold, energy, but thought that maybe it was all in my head. The baristas kind of gave me this look like...just order and leave. I've since then been there a handful of times. Today being one of those days. I walked in through the back and 2 white gentlemen just stared at me...and not that good "she's hot" stare. It was definitely negative; one I've received from people there in the past. A sweet girl with braces took my order; said all the right things and handed it to me with a cover. Then a little red head girl gave me my second order; no cup cover or whip cream like I'd requested. She placed it on the table in disgust. I've never entered a place in New York (even though this is Long Island) and felt like I shouldn't be there. This is definitely that place though. I get the feeling that they don't really like..."color" in there, and I've never said that about a place before. They don't even hide it. It's unfortunate because it's a nice place with pretty good coffee. They could at least hide their "opinions" better. Especially to someone who's a regular there. Mind you not all the people that work there have made me uncomfortable. Just most lol. And the customers...yeah they'd definitely throw me out (physically) if they could. I think I'll just have to take my business elsewhere from now on. Sucks. read more

It's like a mini Starbucks in Shirley! Great ambiance for a coffee shop. The staff is friendly and helpful. I don't know much about coffee, so I never know what to get. They help me with french press and latte questions, decisions, everything! They're the best! On days I can't decide what flavor to get, I order on the phone and have them surprise me. By the time I get there, my coffee is ready and warm enough to drink without burning myself. They also have seating and wifi to use, while you enjoy your drink. read more

The best coffee! A little out of the way, but well worth it. The plain coffee, cold brew, soy caramel macchiato and dirty chai latte are my favorites. They also sell a nice variety of organic coffee beans to go from different regions of the world, which have become a staple at my house. Tip: If you order an espresso drink, expect to wait a couple minutes as you would at any other busy coffee shop. I usually get a plain black coffee if I'm in a rush. read more

This is such a cute addition to Shirley. Very friendly staff here, and I love the flavors of coffee that they offer. Sometimes it's Nutella or Rainbow Cookie or Almond Joy, but whatever the flavor it is always delicious. The prices are a little high, it's about $4.00 in change for a small/medium sized coffee (grande at Starbucks size). But since it's not a chain and is a small business, I am not as angry about paying a bit more. I highly recommend coming here if you're a coffee lover. read more

Stopped here en route to the Hamptons while looking for a serviceable coffee spot that wasn't Dunkin/Starbucks/soulless chain joint. Tend is a locally owned/operated java joint that brews a fierce americano and does their own roasting onsite. They also retail about a dozen different (pure + blended) bagged coffees for home brewing. There is limited seating in and out and easy access to Route 27. Service is quick and friendly. I'd definitely stop here again whenever I'm rolling through the area read more

To begin a day that was going to be filled with fun and adventure across this lovely island, my girlfriend and I needed a jolt of something to get us percolating (literally). Once upon a time, a coworker of hers had brought her rainbow cookie flavored coffee from Tend and ever since that day she has desired it again. Well yesterday was the day her dreams came true, and mine as well. We drove over to Tend, which from the outside resembles a tiny house. You're more than welcome into this house (from front or back entrance) to experience some quality coffee. Inside it feels like a cute, little coffee house that has its own personality. As promised from her coworker, they had rainbow cookie flavored coffee so we ordered two larges (about the size of a Dunkin' medium). The employee was friendly and told us about a punch card for frequent visitors which is a smart way to get customers to return. I was a bit skeptical that this flavoring was going to live up to expectations, but it did this wonderfully by extracting the tri-colored goodness that is a rainbow cookie. You mix in your own milk, sugar, and other coffee additions, and the flavor was at the bottom so you'll have to do a little work to get it to your desired level of taste, but it's worth it for sure. Overall, Tend coffee attended (I went there) to our needs and when in the area we'll most surely return for some rainbow cookie in coffee form. read more
