Called around to a few stores to see if they had our size. Luckily 5 Stride had our sizes. Yay. We quickly hopped on CitiBikes and rode over. We did not have an appointment but were lucky enough to be serviced immediately with 0 wait time. We tried a few brands before deciding to on our purchase. We took FOREVER to decide brand and color of wheels and laces. Paco (staff) was patient and helpful in making sure we got everything we asked for. They also had their latest apparel collection on display, which was nice to see. One cool thing about this spot is that they have the token machine--I wanted to get a token so badly, but I ended up picking up a few other items I knew I'd get more use out of. However, there's one thing that definitely needs improvement. Besides the two people behind the register, it was nearly impossible to tell who else worked there. I kept trying to find my size and ended up asking random customers because I genuinely couldn't tell who was staff. Clear employee identification is a must. If the two cashiers hadn't been standing at the register, I wouldn't have known they worked there either. That being said, the overall experience was great, and I still recommend this location 100%!

It was humbling having to walk my bike all the way home. King Kog is out of my way but I needed to do a long ride the next day, so I took it to the shop since they have one of the earliest opening times in my area and I was crunched for time. They were ready and taking in customers two-by-two at 11. They made great time and it wasn't for lack of care or attention. One employee couldn't help a couple looking for new bikes. But he spent a few minutes giving them advice on where to go and how to get what they were looking for. I went to them out of the blue, but I'm going to make it a point to hit them up for any future needs/advice.

They made a Don Mattingly jersey for me about 25 years ago, and this year I came across some blanks and Googled "embroidery shop Brooklyn McCarren Park." When BQ Sports popped up, it was like a time warp walking back in -- the shop looks exactly how I left it in 2000, in the best nostalgic way possible. This place is super authentic, super old-school, and still delivering top-tier quality in 2025. The blanks are quality, the varsity jackets are quality, and the embroidery is perfection. I brought in a blank Reebok Pro Line jersey and had it customized into an Amani Toomer -- it literally looks like I pulled it off the rack in 1999. Couldn't ask for anything better. End of the day: their work is amazing, the turnaround time is solid, and their craftsmanship is unmatched. I picked up a few more blanks and George is already lined up to customize them ASAP. I'll keep coming here as long as those doors are open. And ignore the negative comments -- Kathy is a busy woman, yes she's on her phone, but she ALWAYS takes care of her customers. My son's team used to use BQ for their uniforms. This year I called them up and told them which…read moreteam I was on--a specific name and age group--and they sent me through an order form. I said I only needed to update a couple of items and the others I didn't need and they insisted I had to buy a whole AND pay a late fee. They failed to tell me that they were no longer working with the team and that they didn't get any other orders from any teammates this year. When the uniforms arrived it was something that we hadn't used in too years. When I brought this up to them they said they hadn't done anything wrong and refused to let me return any of the items, even unused ones that could be used by other people, that didn't have names or anything else. I asked my teammates and this isn't the first time they took order for the team after the relationship had already ended. DO NOT GO TO THESE GUYS. SUPER DISHONEST.
