Management should be working with employees on their bedside manner here, especially given that prices are at a higher premium than other places where a dude doesn't dismiss you at every question. Just go to the UWS location on 72nd where you'll get a much more friendly and competent staff to help you find what you're looking for.

I tried CVS, Duane Reade, Rite Aid, Target, and Kings Pharmacy and none of these places carries them. Take my advice and go to Athleta. I entered and was immediately welcomed by a friendly associate. By this time I was exhausted so I cut to the chase telling her why I was there. She said they don't have them in store any longer but she would look online. She said if they're available she would order them for me and I would save the shipping charge. I went ahead and ordered two packages of 10 mask filters each package. With tax my total was $8.69. She said I would receive an email and my credit card would be charged. I was told it's two day delivery. I was amazed. After I arrived home I had the email about my order. At this point I'll be happy when they arrive. If anything goes wrong it will not be the fault of this sales associate or this beautiful Athleta location. I won't be ordering from this company again. A company that is too cheap to have a customer service phone, or to respond to emails quickly does not deserve my business.

I found out about this local shop through some friends and before this, I used to shop primarily at the Longboard Loft for my longboard needs. So I dropped by to check it out and I must admit the entrance was nice. It was on the side of a building and you have to go down some steps. Opening the door leads you to a very mellow lit area with longboards everywhere. Behind the counter, there is Jeff who is very chill and kind. He's just a nice person with a passion for longboarding and he loves to share it with others. Jeff also plays some really nice, relaxing music that makes you want to just stay there and hang out the entire day. Not only that, but he'll give you a quick tune up if you ask nicely. I now go only to Uncle Funky's because of the atmosphere and service. I even brought some friends with me who were looking to get into longboarding. They each bought their first longboard their and Jeff walked them through the whole process and even gave a discount because one of the boards was slightly warped. Now they tell me that Uncle Funky''s is the shop they'll be going to. Prices. Prices for the stuff here are decent, the Loft probably has some better deals, but I'd rather give my money to Uncle Funky's for the good time they offer every visit. Overall the shop is a little hard to find if you have never gone, but it is worth the trip. Upon entering, the shop is clean, mellowed out by the lights, and very welcoming. If you have any questions, Jeff is your go-to guy because he has an extensive range of knowledge and he can answer any question you might have whether you are a novice or a pro. Easily my favorite spot to go everything longboard related. read more

If you're in NYC and you skate, this is a must see. Just keep your eyes peeled....you might pass it. The shop is actually in a basement. In my opinion, this just adds to the charm of the shop. They have a great selection of parts and decks. You can also stand on the boards, which is really fun and helps you decide when you're choosing a new ride. The service is always very personal and hands-on, and on top of that, friendly. I wouldn't recommend any other shop if you're in the big apple. I had never stepped on a Penny Board before, but the gentleman not only taught me how to use it, but also sold me a customized Penny Board (that he customized for me on the spot) that I'm in love with. I only skate 8.38, a pristine slab of Canadian maple whose concave curves beckoned me like the shores of some undiscovered nation. The transaction complete, the guy behind the counter did not simply send me on my way with a perfunctory "thank you." No, in his magnanimous spirit, he offered to initiate me into the sacred welcome of the shop's team, to let me drink deeply from the fountain of skating knowledge that flowed through their ranks. Then the other sales lady came back w a different customer who had to excuse himself to step in front of me so she could check him out. Then after the guy made his sale he magically saw me, I said it was weird to let 2 people cut in front of me while I was waiting. He lied to my face saying they were already in line...ahead of me...something I would've seen considering I have both eyes and both ears. Trying to gaslight about a line is hilariously sad and par for the course for his "customer service." He then played helpless when it came to helping me. I love the attitude of "we can't help you even though those are our shoes literally from last season." He couldn't look up my purchase bc they were bought at a diff docs store in a different state. Apparently dr marten has internet issues between states. The guy pretending to help me told to contact corporate , then offered no email or phone and told me to have a nice day. I'm literally wearing their broken shoes from their store. A cobbler helped me do a quick fix for free down the street. I don't recommend this store unless you like to be ignored then brushed off by jagoffs who think they work at Chanel and not Doc fuccciing Marten.
