Staff was super friendly and chill, not hawking you down like some other places. They hold lil events, giveaways, special items, etc. Worth going in to check out the local stuff and buying. Pro: Staff is helpful. Con: Return policy. Was in a hurry and bought shoes here and took them without a box because I was on my bicycle and had limited space to carry things. Got home, tried them on and they didn't fit so I looked at the receipt for the return policy. 14 days with store credit. Went back 2 days later to exchange them. But they wouldn't take them without a box. Nowhere on the receipt did it say sale was final. When I bought them, the employee didn't inform me. There are no signs in the store. I kind of think that is bullshit. I get that the manager might have to figure something out, but it comes off as shitty to me. Plus, it's only for store credit. There are better options in Williamsburg that are willing to work for the customer. read more

I do enjoy their half pipe and the group of hotties that usually hang around here on the weekends. Is skateboarding a sport? Or a lifestyle? Who cares. This -- at least to me -- relatively new skateshop in Williamsburg attracts a lot of skate rats and older skaters, and it's not rare at all to see a squadron of people pushing up and down its stretch of street. Inside, they've got a full wall of decks, skate shoes, other gear, and related wear. Next time I need a pair of Vans, I'll probably head here instead of ordering them online. C. and I didn't stick around long, but it appeared that there was also a smallish halfpipe -- a mini ramp -- taking up one half of the space. That's a great thing to see. They also host skate video screenings and art exhibits. If I'm not mistaken, KCDC used to take up more humble digs further west on N. 10th Street (active since the early '90s?). This location is less funky but more open, bright, and airy. Nice to see them moving on up. read more

I don't usually write reviews outside of food spots but I felt my experience here was so crappy i had to. I'm giving them 1 star because of the ATTITUDE. The shop is great: ramp&selections of goods...but wassup with the sense of entitlement. Came here with my BF to buy sneakers when they were at their old location. Apparently the assumption was he was just sneaker collector and not a "real skater". When we checked out..the guy that rang him up said "these are selling fast, there ain't going to be any left for the real skaters." My BF is a bigger man, literally and figuratively and just ignored the b*tchass comment.... I on the other hand am not. funny when hipsters move in to your hood and think they run the place, please go back to LI if your gonna keep up the attitude SUPREME in the city has since inherited our business. Like reviewer olivia l. I hadn't been on a skateboard since about 7th grade ... then I moved to Greenpoint and decided it would be a great way to get around. In other words, I'm not a skater, just a dude who bought a board on Craigs List and has been learning to ride. So when a little internet research determined I needed new bushings (my board veered) after reading these I figured this was the place to go. But I was also a little nervous about being a clueless dork amongst all these lifestyle skaters. But the dude who helped me out was cool, no attitude that I could detect. He replaced the bushings, made a few recommendations & showed me how to clean my bearings. Prices seemed reasonable, but I wouldn't know for sure since I don't shop around for this stuff. Mostly I wanted to write this to say if you just skate casually, or are new, or like me don't trick but just bought a board to run errands, don't be put off by the hardcore appearance of this place. Everyone was totally cool and helpful. Great to have such a good shop nearby. read more

Solid dudes. I went in today to get a complete board (I'm not a 'skater', just a guy who wanted a board to go to the corner deli quickly without having to take my bike and lock and what not). The guys were super helpful. As a non-skater, I was a bit apprehensive as I always assume that guys in specialty shops like this would give me some attitude. No attitude (except a good one) to be found. They helped me select a deck, trucks, wheels, bearings, risers and then they put the whole thing together for me. Thanks guys. read more

This place was ACTUALLY GREAT in 2003-2004. In 2009-2010 they were the worst. Prices are NOT ONLY JACKED THE F UP, the attitude is the same. Parking, not so much. I used to like this place when it was Low-Key. read more

I recently purchased a complete for my nephew at KCDC and had a really pleasant experience. Not only was the staff super helpful, they also took the time to show him ( an eager 9 year old ) how to put together his new ride from start to finish. They gave him tons of stickers, and made him feel like he was part of the crew. The smile on his face was priceless, and I am sure he will remember that day for a long long time. I would highly recommend this shop, and will continue to support it and other local businesses in the neighborhood! read more

New York has no shortage of skateshops, and KCDC is by far the most legit shop in the city. I worked/managed two different skateshops. One during my college years, and one between college and grad school. KCDC is exactly what I like to see in a shop. Not that it's too terribly important, but I've been skateboarding for 15 years, so I feel like I have a decent idea of what to expect from a shop. KCDC wins on all levels. They have a great selection, the space is phenomenal, and most importantly, the staff is the best. I went here for the first time when my friends used to live nearby (6 or so years ago), and I fully back everything they do. It's not the most convenient place for me in terms of location, but do yourself a favor and go to KCDC, even if it's slightly out of the way! read more

Really great shop here and the staff are nicest as can get. One of the most memorable skate shop experiences that I have had. They carry all kinds of boards ranging from Palace, Polar to Real and footwear selection is on point with Vans, Nike SB , Lakai and much more. KCDC moved to this spot a couple of months back. Bigger, more spacious. It's a skate shop. Full of decks, shoes, shirts, related wear and supplies and parts for your skateboard. Even a place to skate inside. I can't really comment on the staff at this location, but they seem to be younger than the staff that used to work at the previous location. However the staff at the previous location were pretty chill to talk to, while the ones here seem quiet and standoffish, but it doesn't really bother me. For all you SB beasts...A few years back at the older location they were selling a pair of size 6 Lodens for only $60. I passed up on it. Now I'm hitting myself. A good place to visit if you're into skating and are in the area. read more

So I was seized with the compulsion to finally get a skateboard and heard these guys were doing a deal on completes so I headed over. They have a sweet board selection and I ended up with some good stuff. KCDC is one of the best skate shops anywhere! While the new location doesn't have the miniramp that last spot did, they still have a huge selection of both hard goods and soft goods. The shoe wall is HUGE and you are sure to find something you are stoked on (which is especially great for me since I am vegan and don't wear leather). They have supported the NYC skate scene for the last decade and always throw amazing events (parties, art shows, skate jams, premieres, etc.). In the winter they have skate nights up the street at Villain, where they set up a miniramp and a couple other obstacles for people to escape from the elements and skate/party. The employees are all cool and know their stuff. They also support a super legit team and put out videos. Definitely worth your time to stop by... read more

I was visiting New York and couldn't find certain brands in any other shops except KCDC. This shop has the best selection of good underground skate brands that are hard to find elsewhere and plenty of the better big brands. They have stylish clothing & footwear, my girlfriend even bought clothes & sneakers she liked. The people that work there are pleasant and help you without being pushy & fake. I grew up in Williamsburg and I wish there were spots like this when I was younger. There's always art events, skate exhibitions and signings. Wanna learn to ride a half pipe? I went in for a complete they had everything I wanted needed. Dude working was super cool and put it together for me lickity split. And he recognized my star trek ring tone (first person to do so). I spent so much time adjusting my trucks that I didn't notice he tightened one of my wheels too much and rode home like that and kicked my self for not buying a skate tool as well. I was impressed that they had all different widths of independent trucks. I have not been able to find the wide ones in a shop before. read more
