Mattresses are more expensive than when I bought my last one 23 years ago (I know; like I said, I've received an education). But mattress "technology," or at least design and materials, has changed as well. Since we spend one-third of our lives sleeping a good mattress matters. It was an excellent shopping experience. We were done in about 20 minutes. The owner, Glenn, knows EVERYTHING about mattresses. We walked into the warehouse and he asked if we wanted to look around on our own or wanted some suggestions. We asked for suggestions. He zeroed us in on three models, had very detailed info on each. (His website also has a lot of great info.) Great prices. Next-day delivery plus removal of the old mattress. Also sells sheets, pillows, metal bed frames, and mattress covers. Since we were moving from a queen to a king, that was all really handy. Also, he works with manufacturers to get flippable mattresses, which are hard to find now. He said that one-sided mattresses are basically like buying half a mattress. People will go to him specifically for 2-siders. He says he doesn't advertise because he gets so many referrals. We were so impressed with him, we actually called the next day before the delivery and asked him to throw in a second mattress to replace one from another bedroom. I felt fine just buying it over the phone because he's that knowledgeable. He also gave us a bit of a discount for buying two. "I'm a long-term operation," he said several times. He wants customers for life. Mattress is good so far. A little firm but it takes a while to break them in. Also, as Glenn pointed out, a mattress can always be made softer with mattress toppers but it cannot be made firmer. Highly recommend!

Looking at the pillow, it is obviously a flaw in production, so I went to Raymour and Flanigan to see if they could replace the pillow. Instead, they said without the extended warranty, they would not look at it. 4 months out of warranty on a pillow. If your quality is not good, make it right for a customer who has bought and will continue to buy. A pillow. Now they will never see me again or my dollars. Over a pillow.

Very interesting as you see red marks turn to a shade of gray as the bed gets closer to the sleep number score which suits you best. Now full disclosure, they test your score out on a P5 Model bed, this is the bed that we ended up going with and it is two steps up from the base model, basically it comes with a few extra inches of cushion. We tested the base model and model above base and we thought they were okay but we were not in love with the comfort level. Now, my friend when I told him how much we spent on it immediately said they up sold us. Maybe, but to me comfort is everything when purchasing a bed and if I am handing over several hundred dollars I want to be happy and feel good about the purchase. There is a Tempur-Pedic store a few steps away from this sleep number store if you want to compare the beds. For me, I loved the idea of being able to adjust the comfort level anytime, also you can adjust either side to any number you want. So if your partner wants to adjust to a firm mattress with a sleep number close to 100 that is fine and you can still sleep on your side at any number you want whether it be ultra soft or medium score around 50. I will update review if anything changes down the line as we only had mattress for about a week but as I said in the start of my review, so far so good. As always people SYOY!!!

Our salesperson was Tim M. First, he ordered the wrong bed, but caught himself at the last minute in that error. Then, he asked us if we wanted to order a mattress pad, to which we said yes, and he added it to our order. We asked about sheets - Tim told us we could just order them on Amazon. Turns out we can't, because the measurements don't correlate. We found this out last night. Well, the mattress pad arrived today - and it was NOT FlexFit with the split top. We were going to go to the SleepNumber store today to buy sheets, but we called first to make sure they had the size we wanted (since we didn't much trust Tim M. at that point.) Well, it turns out they don't carry Cal King sheet sets in the store, because it's an unusual size. SO. We now have a bed arriving in 3 days, no mattress pad, and no sheets. I can't speak to SleepNumber as a company - we don't have the bed yet. What I CAN speak to is the customer service provided to us by Tim M. at the Montgomeryville store, which was not good at all. She went from 50-100 saying you don't look over 18 you need to leave you have to be 18 or over to shop here. First off. I have a FULL BEARD WITH WHITE HAIRS -and I have salt and pepper hair. I flipped out. I felt like this was a joke or a prank but no this this discrimination because of how I looked?! I felt so embarrassed like why would a MANAGER just all of a sudden not even 30 seconds into my shopping experience am I being profiled and asked for my age. What does it matter. I'm by myself and if you saw me you wouldn't see a child. I'm a grown adult married with a mortgage. I was told to leave by the lady who said she was the store manager with threat of calling the cops because of how I was responding to how she responded to me.
