After having a stellar experience with Templeton Glass at our place of business, we found the need for its services at our home. Our 18 year old sliding glass door was showing signs of moisture intrusion between the dual panes of glass and we wanted it repaired. We live in an older mobile home and are finally able to do some much needed upgrades. I was concerned that nothing in this house is square or seemingly level, nothing is "standard." Turns out all houses have these problems! Customer service is top-notch (Madi, you're wonderful!), communication is excellent, everyone is professional and friendly. The installation team can't be beat--on time, on task, and answered my questions. The guys were great. The last 2 of 6 windows are being replaced the end of December. Can't thank you enough! As a side note--the very old single pane windows were replaced with Milgard double pane. It was quite a surprise that the noise from the outside world was significantly reduced inside the house just from the new windows. read more

Poor Customer Service, Yelps online screening process gives provides more than enough information to vet a customer for a particular job. When I finally received a call the lady was condescending and rude. She kept trying to tell me that she wanted to give me a rough quote. I don't want a rough quote. Nor do I don't want to speak to a robot of questionnaires to provide a rough quote for Templeton Glass. I need an actual quote. I do not want to spend 15 more minutes of my time explaining a job to an individual not seeing the job and giving the actual quote. I need an actual quote by a business excited to have customers. Quote the job, you are in the business of replacing windows. Or tell the customer you do not service Arroyo Grande. read more

After a poor Milgard sliding door install by someone else we needed a service call and tune up. Most companies refused to even listen if the doors were not purchased from them. My son broke the sliding glass door window while weed whacking. I asked him to arrange the glass being replaced. Templeton Glass worked with him and scheduled an appointment to give an estimate. They gave us an estimate and a time frame for the replacement. We accepted the job and on schedule they came out to do the repair. The glass was 8' x 36" or so and double pain, I thought the price was fair. The job was done very well, the glass matched perfectly and they left our house clean. Awful awful business. Cut glass incorrectly and I had to argue with the TPT owner's wife everyone else is complaining about here! When she finally agreed to redo, they LITERALLY screwed it up again placing a clearly described electrical hole in the wrong place. TPT Princess said "oh it's not that bad, we won't redo that". My husband busted a window in our rental installing the washer and dryer in a very tight space. I called multiple glass repair companies in the county all were very over priced and months out for even coming to look. EVERYONE I came across at templeton glass was amazing! They were able to give me a low priced estimate the same day I called and the repair guy was out the next day. The gentleman that came to my home was sweet and caring poor guy was harassed by my very inquisitive and determined toddler and the repair man engaged with him and was very sweet to him! I went into Templeton glass with not a lot of information on what I needed , it's very confusing for a housewife :) BUT the girls Kelly and Erica navigated me thru it with diligence and educated me a bit . They made me feel like family . I would never do buisness anywhere else. read more

Only good thing is the free measurement..... but they go back on the quotes they originally give you. I had 2 options: a) repair glass for $529 and keep original frame or B) $1,000 range to repair the whole window frame with tempered glass and change out the aluminum frame to fiber glass...... I chose option A of course. Templeton glass who started me with the same quote, and they took 2 weeks before they were able to come measure, and they said it would be another two weeks before the install. I was in the process with them and 3/4weeks into them they said they couldn't get the right thickness of glass to fit with my grids and I would have to replace the whole frame....with a new quote of over $1,000..... then I turned to A-1. A-1 promised me that they wouldn't go back on they quote. I called Templeton to let them know I was going with A-1, because I admire the promise with the quote, and that they should do the same for their "loyal" customers (I has 9 windows replaced with Templeton in the past). The exact words that were said to me by TEMPLETON GLASS WERE "YOU HAVE FUN WITH A-1 GLASS, IN FACT, NEVER CALL US AGAIN" read more

Just had a couple replacement windows installed with my office at 7630 El Camino In Atascadero. Both the installers who showed up on the job were very professional and courteous. They kept the job site very clean vacuumed as they went and even washed the windows after installation. One thing I wish they did was use insulation between the gap's of the windows. If this was my home I would've made sure that that was done. Otherwise the installation went well everybody was polite professional and courteous and I would definitely use them again. read more

At first, Templeton Glass was very polite and courteous. They provided me an estimate, based on measurements obtained from a local contractor, and after agreeing to move forward because they had the best pricing, they came out and took their own measurements. This is where things got messy. I received a revised price after they took their measurements, indicating that the price had to be increased, because there were "custom sizes" and their measurements were different than the measurements I provided. (I live in a track home and NOTHING in my home is "custom".) I emailed them and let them know that their revised price was too high for me to move forward, and I would not be doing business with them, unless they could work on their price and get it lower. It wasn't 5 minute later, that I received a fairly aggressive call from a woman named Kelly, I believe she is the owner's daughter. She proceeded to barrage me for 1-2 minutes, letting me know that her pricing was very competitive in the industry, that the price increased because I provided them incorrect measurements, that it was my fault and only my fault for the price increase, and that I was the only one to blame, and I should give them my business anyways. When I told her that I did not appreciate her condescending tone, she started yelling at me like I had just run over her dog. I heard her say something to the effect of she would never do business with me again before I hung up the phone. It is disappointing that a small company in a small town would treat their customers like this. I had every intention on working with them to find a mutually beneficial solution, but I refuse to do business with anyone who yells at their customers, verbally insults them, and tells the customer that they are wrong. Business 101 sweetheart, don't ever tell the customer they are wrong. Ever. I waited over a month to write this review, so it would be as level headed and emotionless as possible. I highly suggest that anyone looking to get new doors and windows, to either AVOID Templeton Glass completely, or talk to their neighbors before committing. This review should come as no shock to Templeton Glass, as I discussed my negative feedback with the owner, and let him know I would be posting negative feedback of my experience. After I emailed him my feedback, I received another email response from Kelly, which only further proved that she has a lot to learn about customer service. She apologized for the way she treated me in paragraph 1 and 2, but then went on to defend her position and the way she treated me in paragraphs 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Unbelievable. For the project I was doing, they were about 10 percent more expensive than another glass company I called, but they were much more willing to work with me. Just fyi....Southwood Chalet Condominiums on Laurel Lane in SLO had contracted with Templeton Glass a few years ago to replace our windows with dual pane windows. It was optional to purchase at this time for each homeowner. But now with a few good rain storms the last couple of years we are experiencing leaking windows. And our insurance company will not cover any more of our claims of water damage until we replace all of our windows!! read more

We called around and got estimates on replacing the sliding glass doors on our house. My husband and I were impressed with the competitive pricing and professionalism of all the employees at Templeton Glass. We had two doors installed this summer. The work looked great but I wanted to wait to review them as I have had work done on my house before only to discover a few months later that it was not as good as I originally thought. Then when you contact the people who did the work they give you the run around and don't back up their work and or product. This was not my experience with this company. About a month after having the doors installed the latches were not quite working right so I called them out and they sent someone out right away. He fixed them and they have worked great ever since. About a week ago we had to call them again because the rain has caused the house to shift a bit ( it's a wood house) and they frames were pulled down a bit a there was a small gap. They came right out fixed it and now it looks perfect. I agree with the reviewer who decided not to use them because he felt he was not treated professionally. I would have done the same thing in that situation. Lucky for us that was not our experience. Their prices are good and I would definitely not hesitate to use them again. From custom mirrors to shower glass to store front doors to windows they not only do it all but have the BEST prices and service. They have always backed up their work. If I give them dimension numbers for a general bid they are always out at the site to confirm the dimensions before ordering. This means it is right every time. I have been using them for a few years now and Kelly is my "go to" contact in the office. She knows this business well and I trust her and Jim's advice. All of my customers love them when they show up on the job. They have a friendly and conscience crew who are as clean as it gets. My latest customer owns an older home and Templeton Glass retrofitted double paned windows throughout the house. One can hardly believe the difference! Then when I called back a few days later to place my order, Kelly told me that the first quote was a mistake and gave me a quote that was about 25% higher. I have a business in Atascadero and was having trouble with my double front doors opening up for my customers and then slamming shut as they entered inside. Definitely a liability issue. Called around other places in Atascadero and everyone was at least 2 weeks out. I was referred to Templeton glass.
