Buster came out to look at some 50 year old single hung windows I had. One had become crooked in its frame so I could no longer open or close it. Buster brought a sample window and was very courteous and knowledgeable about explaining options and how I could have them replace the window. Because the room has 2 of these I would have to replace both, for design balance, so the bid was upwards of $3400. Based on the time he spent with me and his knowledge of windows, I would be inclined to give him 5 stars. But... I did ask him if the window could simply be repaired and he said no, it's probably too old to get parts for. He had looked at the window, and he was a window guy, but he left it at that. For some reason, I got inspired to look on YouTube and found a simple DIY video about how to do a repair on these kind of windows. I found a company called Swisco that I could send a picture of my part to and they identified just what I needed. I ended up repairing the window for $19 plus shipping, and it's as good as new. So from that perspective I'd give Buster 1 star. I'm being generous with 3 stars, as I know everyone needs work these days. So - bottom line - if you know you need new windows, they're probably a good company. But keep in mind that their first job is sales. read more
