I was so impressed that 5 years after the installation they would come out and look at an issue. In addition to a change in stone, we also added some features like stone windowsills details, a stone backsplash and shelf behind the oven, and a waterfall edge on the peninsula. The process was ideal from start to finish. Ben was responsive and always very helpful. He listened to what we wanted and made suggestions and gave us options to get a finished product we are thrilled about. They went the extra mile to make our house livable between demo and installation. His team was friendly to my whole family (including the dog). Let me preface this by saying that I hate having to call out for repair. I'm an engineer with a…read morebackground in general engineering so as a matter of professional pride (and affordability, and fun) I do most of my own home improvement, appliance repair, and some of my auto work. Granite, though, has the distinct quality of being dangerously heavy and somewhat delicate, so when the seam between granite pieces on my center island started to split, I knew i needed to call in a pro. The folks at Epic stone couldn't have been more professional. They gave me a no pressure quote over the phone and got me in within a week. I ended up having them fix the seam and drill a hole in the counter for a garbage disposal air switch. The gentleman they sent out had the rare combination of being extremely detail oriented and fun to talk to. He took his time blending different epoxy colors to make the new seam as unnoticeable as possible (and did a far better job than the builders did on the original seam). When he was done, he had me inspect his work and showed me everywhere the stone was slightly uneven around the seam (caused by house settling or original installation issues); fortunately they were very minor. He also offered to buff a corner of the slab that had chipped over the years free of charge. Like I said, I don't enjoy calling out for repair, but I wouldn't hesitate to have epic stone back the next time I need something.

Samuel made the template, grabbed our sink, we sent him the specs for the cooktop and said he'll call me when it's ready. He called four days later and said he could install it, but our painters weren't done yet so we agreed to stay with the original plan. His team showed up earlier than the time he gave and got to work immediately. They worked hard! It wasn't easy getting our stone up to the second story kitchen and then he matched veins within the stone with the backsplash to countertop. Our GC said it was one of the best looking layouts of countertops he's seen. The appliance installation team said the cut outs for the sink and cooktop were so good they didn't need to install brackets. The wife is extremely pleased with how it looks!! I found this hidden place by the kind referral by the Arroyo Grande granite place. What sets it apart is the Customer Service & wide choices of remnants... if you happen to find a piece that suits your little project they are a bargain. They also do fabrication & have a little cute shop where you can plan the big projects. They are far more friendly than the Nipomo granite place, but have fewer choices... but better prices. Veronica L. was friendly, helpful, & knowledgable...even though I just picked-up just a small perfect piece of granite for very little bucks. It just happened to be 1 foot wide & about 16 inches deep which fit perfectly width wise. The front side was already polished & the back jagged side is now hidden by kitchenware. It just fit a gap in my weird assortment of remnants that cover much of the crappy old white tile with aging grout in my kitchen. My wife was very pleased with the color of the granite which just so happened to be complimentary to the next piece. Since I also just found a fabulous local Santa Maria fabricator who can either join up my random assortment into something joined/ epoxied that looks better. He also has the same idea as me as to possible breakup the random pieces & make a mosaic type of counter filed with dark grout that would be really cool looking & quite cheap. He said he did a similar thing with his bathroom wall. Definitely worth a stop, while you explore the area...like Dunes Park & getting a snack at King Falafel, while you explore the small former Japanese town of Guadalupe on wonder Hwy 1.

The problem doing this is that you must purchase a large slab, find someone to cut, finish, transport and install it. I saw The Top Shop's ad in the Lompoc Record and I went by to see if they had any remnants as I didn't need a very large piece. Greg was very accommodating and tolerant of my indecisiveness. He showed me what remnants he had that would meet my needs. Since I was having the fireplace retiled, I decided to use the same countertop material for the hearth too. He also knew someone who could do my tile work and they coordinated the project together. Greg and George do beautiful, precision work. I am so pleased with the outcome. The old hearth was terrible with chipped tile that had been painted and it wasn't level. Now I have a beautiful, sleek, level hearth with a matching countertop.
