I had a great experience here with Brad! He is the most kind person and does a great job cutting my naturally-curly hair. He has given me both haircuts and Keratin treatments and I've been happy with both (I come from NYC and have high expectations when it comes to haircuts and straightening treatments). Also, just a shout out to how awesome he is: one time I got a keratin treatment with him and it started raining and he actually walked me to my car with a giant umbrella to make sure I didn't ruin my newly straightened hair! Loved the place, love Kristen. She fixed a terrible cut from somebody else and made my hair look the way I want it to plus gave me some excellent styling tips. My hair is straight but super thick so it is hard to make short styles look sleek and not super round. Thus I rarely like stylists but this one was very good and made it happen! read more

I got a killer haircut from Chanel at Arrow. She did that magic thing where you get your haircut, but it actually looks longer. It's really one of the best haircuts I've had in years. The salon is really gorgeous inside, but also super comfortable and down to earth.The whole experience was just easy. Nothing was contrived, trying too hard, or stuffy - actually the haircut I got was the same way. It was just perfect. I went to the salon on a whim while I was visiting during the holidays and now I'm sad I don't get to make it my regular salon. Cannot recommend it enough. read more

Onslow was amazing! I am living in Durham temporarily and have continued to get my haircut at home, but due to timing needed to go somewhere here. Onslow was extremely patient with me (I'm really particular and scared of getting my haircut) and gave me a great cut. I'm super satisfied with this salon. For years I straightened my thick wavy hair so it would look more "professional." Glen has given me a cut that I can style quickly but is much more natural, and I don't think anyone is taking me less seriously. Between the cut and the color, I get lots of compliments. Glen is a true artist and very careful. And the prices are very reasonable compared to others salons in the area. Don't go anywhere else! read more

I have mixed feelings, but giving a 3 does not do Stephanie justice. She did a great job with my hair trim, really only cutting the little amount I felt comfortable. She was easy to talk to and I really liked her. However, when I went to pay, I was surprised to find out it there was a $20 charge for the flatiron, which I definitely was not warned about. And if I had been asked if I wanted to pay $20 for the flatiron, I would have declined. I had to touch up my hair at home anyway, so I was really displeased that my hair trim ended up being $100. That feels like a crazy amount in general, but especially for Durham. So now that you've been warned, you can go have a good haircut. read more

I was in NC visiting my family for Christmas and got my hair done by Chanell! She did an amazing job and was very sweet and talkative (which I like in a hair stylist, there's nothing worse than sitting there for hours in silence). She did highlights and a cut which both look great. My mom gets here hair done by Chanell as well and it always looks great. She is very knowledgeable about what will look good and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. I love this salon - Tiffany is very talented and experienced, and I've been very happy with the haircuts I have gotten at Arrow! The salon itself is decorated beautifully and the staff are friendly and professional. Before moving to North Carolina, I had lived in NYC for many years. When I moved, I didn't think I would get my hair done outside the city -- I was so skeptical that I could find great style outside NY (I know, ridiculous, but still, I was planning to back to NY whenever I needed my hair done!). I booked a haircut with Kristen at Arrow last week. My impression of the salon is overall very positive. I love the open feel. They took my coat when I came in, which I thought was a nice touch. I was offered a glass of wine before my consult with Kristen. Given the vagueness of my instructions, Kristen did a fantastic job. I decided to go for Bardot bangs, which I was really nervous about because of my hair texture- and the fact that I have a tiny forehead. The cut she gave me looked great out of the chair- like I couldn't stop stealing glimpses of myself in reflective surfaces, because my cheekbones and eyes looked that great. However, I think a lot of that effect was due to her skill at styling my hair as the day after, I thought I could use a bit more face-framing. I called the salon and explained. They were able to fit me in to see Kristen that afternoon and the adjustment was free of charge. Overall a great experience and I will definitely get my hair cut there again. read more

I really enjoyed my experience this morning with Glen. After my hairdresser sadly passed away, I hadn't found someone to cut my hair since September. My husband found Arrow and made an appointment for me. When I had to cancel my first appointment because I fell and covered myself in mud (true story!), they were happy to reschedule. Glen was super nice and we shared stories about our kids and our time spent in New York before moving to (and loving) Durham. He listened to me about what I wanted for my hair and gave me a sharp haircut that was really on the ball. He also gave me some tips about how to maintain the curls and lose the frizz. Glen also used some product that they hadn't used before, and asked me to tell him how it was at the end of the day. I was in and out in 45 minutes. With parking validation, a glass of cool lemon water, and good conversation, I will certainly be returning as I have found my new stylist. read more
