We called a few local contractors for help, and NONE were even close to the level of quality and communication of Vent. Other companies wanted to charge us to come out and tell us our AC was broken (obviously) one of which spent less than 5 minutes recommending just a new AC - and implemented some shady sale techniques around scarcity to make an all too quick decision. Emanuel (the son) came out and did a very thorough diagnostic with pressure readings - all free of charge. He explained in detail about what was wrong why just replacing the AC was ultimately not the best way to go - but up to us. Jim (the dad) took over in terms of scoping the project and scheduling the work. He and his crew were friendly and accomidating throughout the day and did a great job with the install and clean up. Overall, we ended up replacing the AC, coil, furnace, and making enhancements to our ducts. The price was reasonable (beating the others just for the AC portion), the workmanship excellent, and communication was great. Would absolutely recommend!

The job required considerable design and energy flow distribution customization. The engineering was well done, installation of the equipment neat and well organized. Today, the heating system continues to work as designed and has requiring the expected maintenance. Very rare 5 Star but what can I say?…read more I read the YELP comments and working for the City Mr Claudio was highly recommended for his honesty. Well guess what? They were not lying! Picture it, It was around 7:30 PM in January (Today) and it is starting to snow and drop cold! Well I called the "other" heating company I worked with for many years, yet I was told by the Manager: "I am at home and it will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon". Ummmm, I have an elderly mom who cannot wait until tomorrow, so I got on YELP, called some friends and again Claudio Heating was recommended since its not far from me and the guy was honest. Extremely happy I did, I love YELP, and as an Elite 11, I take it very seriously! Mr Claudio (yes the owner) was extremely fair with pricing and wasn't looking to kill me financially (mind you I just paid mortgage) and his estimate was not even close to what I thought I would be paying. I was elated and proud to say that Claudio Heating and Cooling are now the pride of my Heating Business from now on. I can't say enough on how the comments really stand up to his capabilities and honesty! This one, is for the books, YELPers take heed, this company is what is needed more of, Thank you for YELP for saving me TONS of money. Wow.

The temperature the following day was predicted to be the hottest day of the year. Fearing the worst, I checked the thermostat. The temperature was well over the set point and rising quickly. I called and left a message for Riley Heating & Cooling, with whom we have a maintenance contract. By shortly after 8 a.m. we were on their schedule and six hours later the service man arrived. It had gotten to be 90*F in my home office. The temperature topped out at 100.4*F (114*F 'real feel!), the hottest day of the year. An hour after he'd arrived, the temperature in our house was heading back to where it belonged. Tonight, I'm back under the covers where I belong. Thank you SO much Riley Heating & Cooling! You resolved our very uncomfortable 'crisis' promptly. We are grateful for your response! Jeff & Sue B., River Forest

Last year, my mom and I were quoted $37,000 to do our AC system by Fred. We have a 2 story house. Fred also suggested a lot of unnecessary work that didn't need to be done. Not to mention he suggested his friends to do other "repairs" for things that are working perfectly fine, and the other 3 companies we got estimates from told us issues he brought up were completely fine. Ended up getting it done by another company for just over $12,000, which is working very well. I felt like Fred was talking to us like we were dumb, and the other honest companies and the outrageous estimate confirmed my intuition. Grateful for this experience because Fred showed me exactly how companies try to take advantage of women. I'll always get multiple estimates to make sure I'm not being taken advantage of because I'm a woman.
