The place is real nice, clean and roomy and smells amazing. First, the kids hit up the salad bar three times and don't miss the warm bar either, that I did have and it was rice, beans, scalloped potatoes, mushrooms and Lobster Bisque. All of it was delicious, I actually really like the lobster bisque. Then came the meats, OMG. We asked for everything medium rare and if something came that wasn't rare, they simply said they'll be back and they always can back with perfectly cooked meat in minutes. The amount of meat was ridiculous. Filet, filet wrapped in bacon, sirloin, spicy sirloin, flank, sausage, chicken, oh my. It went on forever. Then, once you think you've had it all, BAM, ribs came out. Seriously, it was too much we couldn't fit anymore. Lastly, our server Connor was great. I would go as far as to say he was the most attentive and professional server I've had in the last dozen sit down dinners I've had. It is a little pricey, but you do get what you pay for. Four dinners, one pitcher of mocktails and one cocktail came in at just under $300.

Extremely Disappointed…read more I hosted my daughter's baby shower at The Piermont, and what should have been a wonderful morning started with us spending approximately 2 1/2 hours cleaning the venue ourselves. When we arrived, the room was already set, but the tablecloths throughout the room were stained and dirty, approximately 80 chairs were visibly dirty, and the bathrooms were not clean. We ended up finding cleaning supplies, scrubbing the chairs ourselves, changing linens and resetting tables before our guests arrived. I have numerous photos documenting the condition we found everything in. Victor, the maître d', arrived around 10:45, with the party starting at noon, and said the room was going to be cleaned when they arrived. Given the amount of cleaning required, I cannot imagine how that would have been accomplished in time had we not already spent hours doing it ourselves. I do want to recognize Jackie, who was lovely throughout the booking process, Josh, who tried his best to help us that morning, Jonathan, the GM, who came to address the situation, and our waitstaff, who were outstanding. Thanks to our decorating and everyone's efforts, my daughter's shower ultimately turned out beautiful. Unfortunately, my conversation afterward with the owner, Steve, made the situation even worse. He minimized my complaint as being about "dirty linens" and then accused me of "harassing his staff for two weeks," which I completely dispute. I expected concern and accountability--not accusations. This was my daughter's baby shower, a once-in-a-lifetime event. We paid for a professional venue; we should never have had to become the cleaning crew. A beautiful waterfront location does not make up for a lack of cleanliness, preparation and accountability.

Amazing food, great service and friendly staff!…read more Came in here today for dinner, unfortunately did not have reservations but we called in advance and were told it would likely be about 15 mins wait so we headed over. When we got to the restaurant it had gotten busier therefore we waited about 40-45 minutes, went to go check in with the waitress for an update and the owner happened to pass by and allowed us to put in our order for apps in advance and kindly gave it to us on the house!! For apps ordered the brussel sprouts, mozzarella squares, calamari and as per owner recommendation the vodkarita pizza. The food came at the perfect time as we got it within 5-10 minutes into us being seated. The brussel sprouts were crispy, the mozz squares had the perfect cheese pull and the calamari was cooked well. It was already a great start to the rest of the meal. For entrees, we ordered the rigatoni alla vodka, chicken parm which came with a small side of pasta, sicilian snapper oregnata and lasagna florentina. The rigatoni alla vodka really hit the spot for all of us, probably one of the best I have ever had. The additional touch of the burrata really brought out the creamy flavor and the chilli crisp added depth to the dish. For dessert, we decided to go with the tiramisu and molten chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Neither dessert was overly sweet which everyone appreciated especially because tiramisu can sometimes get over powering but this was perfectly balanced. My husband ordered their seasonal flavor for the pumpkin spice espresso martini and it was delicious, better than most cocktail bars we've been to! Excited to see what they do for the winter flavors. Would highly recommend everyone checking out this establishment. It was our first time here but they definitely have won us over to be visiting here more often.

First you are served garlic bread with dipping sauces which the bread bey itself is delicious but add in the dipping sauces and it's insane!! i wish there were more than 4 pieces but given the portion sizes of the rest of our meal, I'm glad there wasn't more. For appetizers we had the fried calamari. I am not a huge calamari eater, but I will say it was fresh and not rubbery. The marinara sauce was very complimentary to the calamari without being overwhelming. For entrees we both had the rib eye steaks. My husband had the garlic mashed potatoes and I had the roasted both were excellent potato choices. The steak was seasoned perfectly. It was tender and cooked perfectly. The steaks were so large that neither of us finished ours. I also really enjoyed adding the dipping sauces from the breads to my steak. It was awesome with our without it but loved the dipping sauces! My only suggestion was I would appreciate my water glass being checked on and not having to ask for it to be refilled. Other than that service was attentive without being intrusive. We cannot wait to go back!!

We started out by sharing the fried calamari appetizer which was light and crispy on the outside and tender and tasty on the inside. The house made marinara sauce was a welcome addition. Our Caesar salads were fresh and flavorful. I particularly liked the shaved parmigiana cheese on top. For our entrees, I had the rack of lamb, cooked just the way I asked for it, medium. I loved the au jus which added an another dimension to the flavor. The lamb was tender and tasty. My husband had the 12 once filet mignon rare. He was so pleased that it was served exactly as he asked for it. He raved that the filet was absolutely PERFECT! It was so tender that it practically melted in his mouth. He truly enjoyed every bite. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was dark and quiet. We both agree that we can't wait to return to The Holstein Grill Steak House for another meal. This time we'll have to save room for dessert.

This is perhaps a preemptive review in some ways. You see Fire Island Vines is planning to play a…read morebig part in our lives in a few months, but more on that in a sec. I'll start off by saying that my wife and I came here on a Friday at the beginning of the summer to actually sit and have dinner, which turned out to be quite a tasty treat. The interior of FIV has a somewhat rustic/beachy vibe that works well for its Bay Shore location and feels at home on Long Island. It's got a nice bar and a decent seating area where we pulled up a table and were helped by the staff who were friendly and attentive. Besides the importance of good feels from the workers, the food and drink is where it might matter most and Fire Island Vines doesn't fall short of doing this. With a somewhat Mediterranean/Greek/Italian direction to their foods you'll find some delicious dips (spicy feta, hummus), savory chicken skewers, and crispy pizzettes which was just about everything we ordered. There's much more than that here and of course plenty of chances to wine while you dine. I instead ventured to the house sangria which was delightful while the wife had a concocted mocktail she really enjoyed. And, therein lies the biggest hint to why FIV will mean a lot more to us in just a few months as my wife and I are expecting our first child and the baby shower is planned for right here within these walls. So far all planning has been fantastic and owner Angelo has been very kind and accommodating. We're looking forward to our full festivities, but for now I'll wrap things up by saying this spot will be holding a special place in our hearts and so I wanted it to be my 1,000th review on Yelp to be even more memorable. With all that in mind (and trying not to get too sentimental on Yelp!), check out Fire Island Vines for some weekend dinner or an event and be ready for some greatness.

It was advertised as a full brunch with breakfast and lunch options. Well I guess that wasn't for our 3:30 seating because all we got was left over bagels and an omelet station (shoutout to Hunter for keeping his cool trying to do all the omelet orders). Definitely need a better set up because people were fighting on the circular buffet setup. Then to make matters worse, they ran out of prime rib. Dessert selection left a lot to be desired. Could have done a lot with a better fruit selection, some pastries or something more creative. To put the cherry on the top, they charged for soft drinks on a $99 per person buffet. NEVER AGAIN!

Listen, I'm just as surprised as you…read more I tend to be wary of very expensive restaurants on Long Island. Many of them charge city prices with mediocre fare, and truly, Chops was never on my list because of it. With that being said, a friend and I were looking for the most bang for our buck during restaurant week and since Chops was on the list, we figured, why not? Inside is dimly lit with red and black hues throughout. The staff was super kind (and honestly had jokes) throughout the night. For starters we ordered the baby lamb chops, I ordered the salmon and for dessert, the banana pudding. It did take a while for our food to arrive but I guess that's as expected with restaurant week! The lamb, buttery and salted well. A welcome surprise considering how meager it looked on the plate. The salmon itself, well cooked with a lovely pistachio crust. But my favorite dish of the night was that banana pudding. It was overwhelmingly packed with caramelized banana flavor and I loved it. My friend raved about her porkchop and cheesecake. For the amount that we paid, it was such a satisfying meal. With all that being said, if I had paid market price, I'm not sure I'd be quite as happy. But, overall, its a good, solid steakhouse to try out!

Wonderful vibes: The atmosphere is warm, cute, and lively--just the perfect cozy breakfast/brunch aesthetic to start your day. The Cons: Confusing parking situation: Parking can be a bit of a puzzle. At first glance, it feels like your only option is hunting for metered street parking along Main Street.
