I came with my family and there just happened to be random sounds of thunder. It is completely understandable that we had to wait 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder to enter the facilities. However, the way the teenage lifeguards spoke to us was so utterly disrespectful, but whatever...that was no problem at first. We hung out by the lake for about an hour and a half playing and listening to music. Meanwhile all the lifeguards were screaming, laughing, listening to music and lounging by the pool sunbathing because it was clear and sunny by now. We timed it and waited 30 minutes after the last thunder sound to go ask if we could go in. They told us the last sound was one minute ago. Uh what? Okay... As we were leaving, I decided to check if they had a number I could have to call and ask if the pool is open. I was banging on the gate yelling HELLO! HELLO! Even though they were right by the gate, they couldn't hear me over their laughing. After awhile, they looked back over their shoulder and utter "Yeah?" I asked 'Could I speak to someone face to face please?' And they didn't even move and said "what?" I was appalled and so disgusting by their attitude. I see this behavior in my high school classes, but if these are lifeguards representing the community we pay to be apart of, I never want to go back again. My 6-year-old son even looked at me and said 'They are not very nice, right?' Pahh!!

Wish the pool had a bigger grassy area for patrons to lounge and sunbathe on towels and blankets. Disappointed that they didnt have proper shower and changing areas in the restrooms. All they had were toilet stalls in the womens restroom. The city only offers two outdoor rinse-off showers for everyone to use. They probably made it bare minimum like that for safety reasons.

But she did point us to this one. It's an older neighborhood in Sugar Land and it looks like it's been there forever. But it's totally worth finding: - Well maintained bike/jogging trail that goes for a couple of miles - Skate park for the teenage boys in your family - Tennis - Baseball/Softball fields that are well maintained and used by the Little League - Sand Volleyball - A public pool The pool is pretty basic but it ranges from 3 to 12 feet and has 2 diving boards. It's also dirt cheap. Sugar Land residents pay $1 for kids under 18 before 5 and $2.25 for adults before 5, $0.50 for kids/$1.00 for adults after 5. Non residents can use the pool for a little more: $1.25 for kids under 18 and $2.85 for adults before 5, $0.65 for kids and $1.25 for adults after 5. We eventually found Memorial Park in a newer part of Sugar Land. But the pool at City Park is a good option for the summer if you don't have ready access to one in your neighborhood and the trails are well maintained. If your kids are into skateboards, the skate park has shade and looked pretty popular.

It felt so fancy inside, and on the first floor there was a smoothie bar with snacks and food that we got the açaí bliss protein smoothie from. I also really liked that in the women's locker room there's lotion and spray on deodorant and hair dryers, and it's super clean. The second floor is stacked with machines and treadmills and anything you could possibly need for a good workout. There's also an indoor basketball court and pickleball courts and an outdoor pool. Definitely play pickleball during work hours if you're off, because we went at 7 pm and it was packed because everyone had gotten off work. But, when we were there at 4:30-5 pm, it was pretty empty.

The kids club was a perfect setup. We had use of the party room for an hour. The kids were able to rock climb and play in the bounce house while we decorated. The last hour of the party was spent in the pool. We were able to use the family dressing room and then the pool. The water was nice and warm and the kids (and adults), had a blast. There was seating for the spectators that didn't get in. Life time provided the life vests and a lifeguard for the party. Each kid had to have a guardian in the water which was not a problem. The two young adults helping us made sure to take care of everything. They helped us set up, passed out pizza and cleaned up the decorations when we went to the pool. They had all the gifts and stuff packed up on a cart and helped us take it outside. Great place for a kids pool party.

Lifetime has been a staple gym in sugar land for as long as I can remember. Yes, LT memberships are…read moreexpensive, but you are paying for the experiences and all the services that Lifetime has to offer. Personally, I play a ton of pickleball so having SL lifetime as my home gym (where there's now 3 indoor courts and 13 outdoor courts) has allowed me to enjoy the game that I love. I have also been taking spin classes every week and enjoy exploring the myriad of classes that Lifetime offers outside of spin. I feel like nothing beats a gym like this, where I can get pickleball, fitnesses classes, weight training, cafe/study space, indoor and outdoor pools, and recovery equipment all in one place. Sure, sugar land LT is on the older side, but this membership lets you explore all other LTs in the nation (depending on your tier), so if you're on the fence about starting a membership, this is your sign to do so!!

Every single year since COVID, there has been a membership increase, and at this point it feels less like "premium service" and more like taking advantage of long-standing members. I recently received notice that my monthly dues will increase from $239 to $279, effective January 1, 2026. The message claimed this was somehow a benefit because my rate is "$70 below new members." After supporting this club since day one, I don't believe I should be paying anywhere close to what new members pay--much less enduring constant annual increases. Where is the appreciation for loyal, tenured members who helped build this club from the ground up? Life Time's response feels dismissive and out of touch. Being told that the price hike is part of their "commitment to a premium membership experience" is honestly frustrating. The experience hasn't changed enough to justify these repeated increases, and loyalty clearly doesn't matter here. I've enjoyed being part of this community for years, but it's disappointing to see that long-term members are treated no differently than new sign-ups. I will be giving my 30-day notice and transitioning to EOS Fitness, which is covered by my health insurance and actually values its members. Life Time used to be worth it. Now, it's just overpriced--loyalty not required, apparently.

My two oldest boys are special needs, so finding activities where they feel welcomed, accepted, and…read morecomfortable is extremely important to us. This place provided exactly that environment from the moment we walked in. Going into swimming lessons, I honestly expected it to be challenging trying to teach them how to swim. Instead, I quickly realized the staff had real experience working with children with special needs, and I was genuinely impressed with both their patience and teaching techniques. The manager or owner was also incredibly kind and communicative throughout the process. We exchanged text messages beforehand where he explained how everything worked, what to expect, and what we needed to bring, which helped make us feel prepared and comfortable before even arriving. The process starts with a trial lesson, which costs less than the standard tuition and gives families an opportunity to see if the program is a good fit. They also offer Saturday time slots, which is a huge plus since the kids are in school during the week. The facility itself is very clean, organized, and unique compared to other swim schools we have looked at. They require everyone to rinse off before and after lessons, and the overall environment felt well maintained and professional. Most of the instructors appeared to be younger, likely college students, but every single one we interacted with was attentive, careful, and great with the kids. What stood out most to me was how well they helped my children feel comfortable. Even though my boys typically love being in the water, it still took them some time to warm up to the structure and environment of the lessons. The instructors handled that transition with patience and understanding. We are still deciding whether we will continue long term because the pricing is definitely something families need to consider carefully. I have no doubt the program provides value, but we are still figuring out whether now is the right time financially for ongoing swim lessons. That said, if your child needs to learn how to swim, especially if they may need a more patient and understanding environment, I absolutely recommend giving this place a shot.
