I came with my family and there just happened to be random sounds of thunder. It is completely understandable that we had to wait 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder to enter the facilities. However, the way the teenage lifeguards spoke to us was so utterly disrespectful, but whatever...that was no problem at first. We hung out by the lake for about an hour and a half playing and listening to music. Meanwhile all the lifeguards were screaming, laughing, listening to music and lounging by the pool sunbathing because it was clear and sunny by now. We timed it and waited 30 minutes after the last thunder sound to go ask if we could go in. They told us the last sound was one minute ago. Uh what? Okay... As we were leaving, I decided to check if they had a number I could have to call and ask if the pool is open. I was banging on the gate yelling HELLO! HELLO! Even though they were right by the gate, they couldn't hear me over their laughing. After awhile, they looked back over their shoulder and utter "Yeah?" I asked 'Could I speak to someone face to face please?' And they didn't even move and said "what?" I was appalled and so disgusting by their attitude. I see this behavior in my high school classes, but if these are lifeguards representing the community we pay to be apart of, I never want to go back again. My 6-year-old son even looked at me and said 'They are not very nice, right?' Pahh!!

This is the main community pool for the subdivision of Telfair. Located next to the Central Hall…read moreand the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land at University Blvd and New Territory Blvd. Since this is a community pool, you would need a pool tag to get in. The pool tag is essentially a key fob (2 per household) that raises the parking arms leading to the parking lot for the pool and entering the pool. Enter the pool, sign in on the tablet, find an empty spot, and have fun! For you long time Telfair residents who have just thought about checking out the pool for the first time in almost 12 years, check your key fobs (if you ever applied for one), if they are the white ones, you need to get them changed at the Telfair Central Hall during office hours. This pool is fairly large with children's play and kiddie pool areas that have water sprouts and geysers for kids to get in and cool off. There is also a slightly deeper area for older kids to enjoy the heightened buoyancy deeper water offers. Off to the side, there are some lap pool areas offering more serious swimmers to do their laps. Perhaps the main attraction is none other than the towering, multi-story water slide that... If it is open, it has water shooting out of it. If you have gone on a cruise ship and seen those large water slides on the top deck of the ships and are kicking yourselves of not being able to work up the nerve to try it? Now is your chance to do it, and you don't have to pay to use (that is, additional, except for being a resident). As with all large water slides sending people down the chute with gravity's assistance, please remove all loose articles (like jewelry, glasses, etc.) before going on the slides. Because if they fly off, who knows if you will ever find them (whole) again. There are restrooms in the facility and lifeguards on duty when the pool is open. One thing I do wish that it has are shower stalls inside to allow residents more convenience and privacy to change out of their wet swimwear before getting into their cars. A few hand dryers won't hurt either, but then again, people will start asking about lockers and benches like the Aquatic Center, good ol' Aquatic Center. For a community pool, it is still a very good one. The other community pool closer to our house doesn't open as early as this one and certainly isn't as big. So we will be coming here more often. The real challenge now is to get our little 2 year old to start liking the water.

It felt so fancy inside, and on the first floor there was a smoothie bar with snacks and food that we got the açaí bliss protein smoothie from. I also really liked that in the women's locker room there's lotion and spray on deodorant and hair dryers, and it's super clean. The second floor is stacked with machines and treadmills and anything you could possibly need for a good workout. There's also an indoor basketball court and pickleball courts and an outdoor pool. Definitely play pickleball during work hours if you're off, because we went at 7 pm and it was packed because everyone had gotten off work. But, when we were there at 4:30-5 pm, it was pretty empty.

The kids club was a perfect setup. We had use of the party room for an hour. The kids were able to rock climb and play in the bounce house while we decorated. The last hour of the party was spent in the pool. We were able to use the family dressing room and then the pool. The water was nice and warm and the kids (and adults), had a blast. There was seating for the spectators that didn't get in. Life time provided the life vests and a lifeguard for the party. Each kid had to have a guardian in the water which was not a problem. The two young adults helping us made sure to take care of everything. They helped us set up, passed out pizza and cleaned up the decorations when we went to the pool. They had all the gifts and stuff packed up on a cart and helped us take it outside. Great place for a kids pool party.

The email that I sent to the owner, Scott Hebert:…read more Scott, I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how disappointed we have been with A-Bear Pool Innovations. We found you on Angie's List, which I refer to all of the time when making decisions about contractors for our house. We subsequently discovered that we knew some of your previous customers (and potential customers), which made the idea of working with A-Bear even more desirable. I first met with Jeremy on July 11, 2013, when he came to our home in Telfair to take photos before he started on a plan for us. At that time, I was quite honest with him and told him that we weren't likely to put a pool in this year, but 2014 was a good possibility for us. I also let him know that we knew previous A-Bear customers, including one that is still used as a reference today (XXXX XXXXXX). We also know another couple that planned to sign with A-Bear just before one of them was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. Unfortunately, that diagnosis caused them to change their plans. Because we were not planning to build right away, Jeremy asked if he could have 1 to 2 weeks to prepare our plans, as some other potential customers were eager to get started on their projects. Understanding how I would feel if we were anxious to get started, I more than willingly agreed to the 2 week timeframe. I never heard back from Jeremy, so I emailed him on August 9, 2013 and stated that it had been almost a month since we met and asked him if A-Bear was interested in providing a rendering and quote for us to consider. To be honest, this is not typical for me. I would normally assume there was no interest and just move on to another company. However, because of your close proximity to Telfair, and the great recommendation that I received from XXXX, I really wanted to talk to A-Bear some more to hear about your products, pricing, ideas, etc. Jeremy returned my email on August 12, 2013 and offered to meet that Friday, or the following week. We had some vacation planned and other things to coordinate, so I did not respond until August 14, 2013 after we had time to thoroughly look at our calendars and pick a time that would work for us. I let him know that we would like to meet with him at 2:30 pm on August 30, 2013. Jeremy responded on August 16, 2013 and agreed to that appointment. I replied with a thank you and then sent another email reminding him that we also wanted to see some other pools that day (as he had offered) that were similar in size and scope to our proposed project. Apparently neither of those emails prompted him to put our appointment on his calendar. When August 30, 2013 came around, we showed up at your office at 2:30 and told the lady up front that we had an appointment with Jeremy. We could tell by the look on her face that something wasn't right. She went to the back, where she and Pete (I think) looked at the Google calendar and did not see an appointment. She then called Jeremy, who acknowledged confirming the appointment with me, but he was apparently at another appointment and was not available. He offered to come to our house the following morning (Saturday), if that was convenient. We already had plans for the following morning, and we certainly were not impressed with Jeremy's follow-through at this point, so we told her that we weren't interested. Keep in mind that the appointment at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon was during working hours, which meant we both were away from work for an appointment that never materialized. The lady at the counter gave me your card and took down my information. It was my understanding that she was going to have you reach out to me. She asked us not to make any decisions until we had a chance to discuss this with you. I got the impression that this wasn't the first time Jeremy had let things fall through the cracks. It's been a week now, and I have not heard from you, so I figured I would send you an email so that you would understand how some of your potential customers feel. I also intend to add a review on Angie's List when I can get around to doing so. We have already received a quote from Anthony & Sylvan and are meeting with Platinum Pools tomorrow afternoon. We will likely still look at one or more other companies before we make our decision, as we want to make sure that we are getting the best product for our money. Price is a consideration for us, but value is of utmost importance. I wish that A-Bear had been more customer-focused. We were eager to consider doing business with you, but the lack of effort and enthusiasm that we've seen while trying to earn our business has really made us wonder about the service and attention we might receive after the sale.
