But she did point us to this one. It's an older neighborhood in Sugar Land and it looks like it's been there forever. But it's totally worth finding: - Well maintained bike/jogging trail that goes for a couple of miles - Skate park for the teenage boys in your family - Tennis - Baseball/Softball fields that are well maintained and used by the Little League - Sand Volleyball - A public pool The pool is pretty basic but it ranges from 3 to 12 feet and has 2 diving boards. It's also dirt cheap. Sugar Land residents pay $1 for kids under 18 before 5 and $2.25 for adults before 5, $0.50 for kids/$1.00 for adults after 5. Non residents can use the pool for a little more: $1.25 for kids under 18 and $2.85 for adults before 5, $0.65 for kids and $1.25 for adults after 5. We eventually found Memorial Park in a newer part of Sugar Land. But the pool at City Park is a good option for the summer if you don't have ready access to one in your neighborhood and the trails are well maintained. If your kids are into skateboards, the skate park has shade and looked pretty popular.

Definitely play pickleball during work hours if you're off, because we went at 7 pm and it was packed because everyone had gotten off work. But, when we were there at 4:30-5 pm, it was pretty empty.

The kids club was a perfect setup. We had use of the party room for an hour. The kids were able to rock climb and play in the bounce house while we decorated. The last hour of the party was spent in the pool. We were able to use the family dressing room and then the pool. The water was nice and warm and the kids (and adults), had a blast. There was seating for the spectators that didn't get in. Life time provided the life vests and a lifeguard for the party. Each kid had to have a guardian in the water which was not a problem. The two young adults helping us made sure to take care of everything. They helped us set up, passed out pizza and cleaned up the decorations when we went to the pool. They had all the gifts and stuff packed up on a cart and helped us take it outside. Great place for a kids pool party.

The pool tag is essentially a key fob (2 per household) that raises the parking arms leading to the parking lot for the pool and entering the pool. Enter the pool, sign in on the tablet, find an empty spot, and have fun! For you long time Telfair residents who have just thought about checking out the pool for the first time in almost 12 years, check your key fobs (if you ever applied for one), if they are the white ones, you need to get them changed at the Telfair Central Hall during office hours. This pool is fairly large with children's play and kiddie pool areas that have water sprouts and geysers for kids to get in and cool off. There is also a slightly deeper area for older kids to enjoy the heightened buoyancy deeper water offers. Off to the side, there are some lap pool areas offering more serious swimmers to do their laps. Perhaps the main attraction is none other than the towering, multi-story water slide that... If it is open, it has water shooting out of it. If you have gone on a cruise ship and seen those large water slides on the top deck of the ships and are kicking yourselves of not being able to work up the nerve to try it? Now is your chance to do it, and you don't have to pay to use (that is, additional, except for being a resident). As with all large water slides sending people down the chute with gravity's assistance, please remove all loose articles (like jewelry, glasses, etc.) before going on the slides. Because if they fly off, who knows if you will ever find them (whole) again. There are restrooms in the facility and lifeguards on duty when the pool is open. One thing I do wish that it has are shower stalls inside to allow residents more convenience and privacy to change out of their wet swimwear before getting into their cars. A few hand dryers won't hurt either, but then again, people will start asking about lockers and benches like the Aquatic Center, good ol' Aquatic Center. For a community pool, it is still a very good one. The other community pool closer to our house doesn't open as early as this one and certainly isn't as big. So we will be coming here more often. The real challenge now is to get our little 2 year old to start liking the water.

A+ for customer service! Then Judy, the Zumba instructor, was even more amazing than we had hoped, and led a very spirited and challenging holiday-themed class. Another A+! It is clear that the regulars who attend all see one another as family. We even came back on Christmas Eve to attend her class again. You get one on one feedback from the instructor after EVERY lesson. They have convenient, up to 30-minutes prior to the lesson cancellations which can be done online (we've all woken up to a sick kiddo-no drama to cancel!) If you are able to come during the day, it is not crowded at all. My husband came once at 6pm and he said it was VERY busy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All of the bad reviews are old, they must have had a change I mgmt or just worked the kinks out. No mandatory two week every day lessons like at HSC, which is one of the primary reasons we came here over HSC.

Instead, I quickly realized the staff had real experience working with children with special needs, and I was genuinely impressed with both their patience and teaching techniques. The manager or owner was also incredibly kind and communicative throughout the process. We exchanged text messages beforehand where he explained how everything worked, what to expect, and what we needed to bring, which helped make us feel prepared and comfortable before even arriving. The process starts with a trial lesson, which costs less than the standard tuition and gives families an opportunity to see if the program is a good fit. They also offer Saturday time slots, which is a huge plus since the kids are in school during the week. The facility itself is very clean, organized, and unique compared to other swim schools we have looked at. They require everyone to rinse off before and after lessons, and the overall environment felt well maintained and professional. Most of the instructors appeared to be younger, likely college students, but every single one we interacted with was attentive, careful, and great with the kids. What stood out most to me was how well they helped my children feel comfortable. Even though my boys typically love being in the water, it still took them some time to warm up to the structure and environment of the lessons.
