This deli is top notch. During Covid they delivered up to my home in Connecticut. I have never seen such great customer service and courteous staff. Would highly recommend to anyone! read more

Great customer service. Top quality and fresh products. Especially for specialty imported Italian items. Love their Francesconi brand!

Sadly ... gotta give this crappy rating. Have been ordering from them for a couple of years with good luck. Just rec'd 4 gallons of oil from them. Two of the containers were so bashed they couldn't stand up and two are rocky (but standing) and leaking. Bottoms of cans are rusted and when I called customer service (shipping) they blew me off and said that as long as the cans are wrapped in plastic the oil is fine. DONE... the packing has always been underwhelming and iffy (not enough packing paper) and trying to blame UPS is unfair as the box was completely in tact when it arrived. read more

Arthur Avenue is a wonderful place that only for shopping but also eating. Anytime I make it down I definitely make sure I stop at Teitel Brothers. I go there for prosciutto the Parma assorted cheeses fresh mozzarella and honestly anything Italian their prices are amazing and I have never had prosciutto as good as theirs except in Italy and that says a lot. Quality shines End it shows everybody there has been super helpful and they're always giving suggestions whether it be a cheese suggestion or a recipe you just have to love this place read more

Love this place, and love the prices.....it is hard to find another place in the US that carries the same quality imported products. The cheese selection is amazing, and the unfiltered olive oil is the nicest around. A must if you are in the city. read more

The best of the best. I love this place. If you want real Italian products come here.

One of our favorite food stores in NYC and our go to place for everything Italian. We were happy to learn that Teitel Brothers delivers to private homes. In addition to great food, service is outstanding and always with a smile. Thanks Mike, Eddie and team. read more

Due to the pandemic I was unable to get to my favorite Italian market for my favorite tomatoes Francesconi DOP! I ordered a case on line and a day or so later I received a call from the store to confirm my order and my tomatoes arrived by UPS at my front door! read more

Hands down the BEST place on Arthur Ave! If you have never been before you are seriously missing out. As soon as you walk in the door you can smell the memorizing aroma of the meats and cheeses. The guys behind the counter are so helpful and accommodating. They will often say "hey I have something for you to try". Which always ends in us trying something we had no idea existed and ultimately buying tons of cheese. They have a great selections of tuna, olive oils, vinegar and dried goods all for prices you can't beat. Check them out!! read more

I just was at the store and I was beyond happy to see that they're helping to keep the community safe by selling home supplies! I love this place. So glad they are open during this difficult time. This goes to show what good people they are and how they care about the community. Gil has been a fixture on Arthur Avenue and always remembers my name and my daughter. He always has a smile for us and is like a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. Michael is a chef who has tons of great ideas and is always sharing family recipes with me to make for my family. There is no equal to these guys anywhere in NY. If you want a taste of Italy in New York this is where to go. Totally worth the trip to the Bronx. During this pandemic they are still open and offering delivery and curbside pick up. read more

I love this store (and so does my mom). Besides having great products at great prices, they are genuinely helpful! read more

Teitel Brothers - Grocery Near Me - Bronx, New York

My favorite place on Arthur Ave, by far. I don't think this place has ever changed, but when something's this great, why should it? I like this store because there are no frills, no stupid philosophy behind the store. Some specialty stores (I'm thinking of Dean and Deluca's) can be highfalutin and criminally overpriced. Teitel is the real thing. The meats and cheese are excellent. The prices are very reasonable for what you're getting. Consider the large jars of Roland's Pesto. For what would cost you 20-30 bucks elsewhere will run you 9 at Teitel. I make cheese and pesto runs about every month. The amarettini cookies are also a good buy. The staff is great too. They will recommend what's fresh, or what's special if you ask. Just don't be afraid to elbow your way though to the front. The place gets crowded, and if you don't make continued eye contact with the staff, you'll get passed over. The meek do not inherit anything in Teitel. read more

Apparently they take cards now, but I would stick with cash anyway. They don't like cards because of the service fee, like most businesses.

This place deserves everybody's patronage as they do NOT rip you off. They are the real "too big to fail" franchises in my book.

Review for Italian sweet sausage....worth the trip! The flavors were amazing and freezes well.

I am humbled and grateful for this establishment during these difficult times we're faced with. My self being high risk was in need of food impossible to get a time slot in with a typical super market I reached out to Teitel Bros placed a DELIVERY order which mind you same day no grocers can match that or their huge selection superior quality foods condiments best pricing by far. I can't say enough how amazing Teitel Bros are. You're not just a customer but treated like FAMILY. read more

My husband and I have been going shopping on Arthur Avenue for over twenty years and there's never a time we pass by Teitel Brothers without stopping in. They have an amazing assortment of cold cuts and cheeses for the best prices around. The proscuitto de Parma is delicious and the least expensive I've seen in the city. They also have a great selection of pastas, olive oils and olives. When we come home with a shopping bag from here my teenage sons can't get to it fast enough. If you're visiting Arthur Avenue this is a must see! read more

5 + Stars...Class Act....Quality , Freshness, Service + Tradition. I've been shopping Teitel Brothers for close to 20 years. It's the only source I trust and buy my Reggiano Cheese. Living in NYC, Trips to Arthur Ave to shop @ Teitel are a family tradition. Can't travel or get there during this pandemic, they deliver and totally took care of all my needs on-line delivering to my home. Love these guys, the best ! Nothing compares to the freshness, service and artisanal quality you receive. read more

Even though it's all Albanian ran and operated. It still has that old Little Italy feeling from back in the days of the movie A Bronx Tale. New York has changed so much. Enjoy yourself read more

I just hung from placing an order/delivery for all my household favorites at Teitel Brothers. I am so excited to find that they will deliver to my apartment building in NYC. Made my day!!! I've been coming to the Teitel Brothers store for more than 30 years and although I moved from the Bronx to Queens in the 1980's, I still only get the best Italian products at Teitel Brothers, so I paid the bridge and come because they are the best!! I love their cheeses, fresh mozzarella, sauges, best prosciutto. This is the Bronx/Belmont little secret! Can't wait for this coming Sunday, for Bronx Little Italy's annual "FERRAGOSTO Fest"! read more

My husband and I absolutely love this deli. We travel from upstate NY about an 1hr1/2 drive but it is so worth it. The selection of their food products are unbelievable! From their cheeses, salami's, olives, olive oil, pasta's,bread's,sauce's and so much more to list. Besides the Teitel's fine quality food they offer the customer service has alway's been A++! Everybody that works here are very helpful and treat you like their family making sure that you are taking care of with the upmost respect and safety especially keeping their customers safe during this pandemic. My second time there. Prices are excellent- the food is fresh and delicious, and the staff is knowledgable and helpful. The samples while you wait don't hurt either. Love this place came highly recommended. Parking is tight (street parking) but IMHO worth the trek from Manhattan. read more

As others have said: busy, tight space and kind of like a free for all at times with customers and counter help trying to stay orderly. But somehow, with some time and patience from all involved, it all works out for everyone in the end. And it really is worth it. They have everything from fresh olives and anchovies, all types of dried pastas, cans of everything italian and great cold cuts. But my favorite here is the fresh parmigiano reggiano. Aged 3 years and $9.99/lb: a definite steal whe compared to others that sell it. It is nutty, creamy and cut to order from the block. Fantastic!! Another of my weekly Arther Ave stops for fresh olives, cold cuts and of course delicious parmigiano reggiano. read more

Excellent products and great staff;no numbering system which usually makes me walk right out of a business because people do not know how to act except like crazy animals in a situation like that;however, I asked one of the owners when I walked in what to do as they didnt have a number system in place and she got one of the staff to help me,which was great for me but not a system. As usual I was there super early and the store was not crowded so it worked out;otherwise, the store is teeny-tiny but loaded with great products. I guess the point is: either go when it opens or pop about 10 valiums. read more

A main stay and community staple for decades, Teitel Brothers is as good as it gets anywhere in the 5 Boroughs. Cured meats, Anti Past fair and fine gourmet goods this is the kind of old school traditional Grocer you would only read about but we are lucky enough to have this New York staple survive. Do yourself a favor, shop here ASAP! read more

Came here looking for stracciatella, they didn't have it but Eddie was very nice and phoned a friend who made it fresh for us at a deli around the corner. The space is tight and packed with Italian products. Lots of dried sausages and cheeses. Their Parmesan sample was delicious as well. And we just came back from Italy so that's saying something! read more

Most amazing Italian Sausage on the Planet! Also why pay 14 bucks a pound for old dried up Locatelli from the local grocery store when they have it here for 6-7bucks a pound? The taste will knock your socks off. That savings alone is worth the trip from miles away.. read more

Tons of character, great food, great advice. What more could you want (except maybe a better location for manhattanites)? The young guy I've spoken with behind the counter is apparently part of the family-run biz and he will tell you all sorts of insider things like "this tomatoes in this can are like down the street from the region which is allowed to be called san marzano--so it's just as good and half the price." He'll also tell you what to look for when choosing olive oil. And just about everything else in the store. Come with either a car or a strong backpack and you'll be set. Their sausage with cheese is amazing. read more

I am a big fan of Teitel. This is the King of imported Italian foods products. There is no other store in the United States that provides the same quality products for these honest prices. You will not find here a large number of regional specialties and culinary extravaganzas alike like for example at Mario Batali's Eataly. But you will find a good variety of "staple" Italian items, the must-have. Parmigiano Reggiano, caciocavallo, prosciutto, olives, baccala', caputo flour, de cecco pasta, panettone ecc. They are mostly priced to be competitive and well deserve a trip from the city. If you like me are from Italy, you will appreciate being able to stock up with all the nécessaire from this incredible store, at prices that will not kill your budget. The store is small and sometimes crowded. read more

The boisterous proprietor behind the counter of this hoppin' grocery offered us some parmigiano on the way out after our first visit, and we stopped back in to score some (Roland) hazelnut oil from the back shelf (for which the price had to be manually checked - $8, cheaper than I've seen recently and the same as the adjacent walnut oil - dig it). Good resource for groceries. read more
