I've been buying food online from this store throughout the pandemic but I've never actually been to the store. They are a one stop shopping store: they have prepared foods, meat and chicken, cleaning supplies, drinks, snacks, fresh vegetables and baked goods. The vegetables aren't amazing (3.5 stars ) but they're fine for staples --bananas, carrots, onions, and potatoes. I have been coming here for years, mostly because its close to my home, but they have decent prices and usually its a one stop shop. The cashiers area always so friendly and helpful. However, for the past 3 weeks their chicken has smelled like rotten eggs. I don't know what they are doing differently lately but if I have to keep throwing out expensive chicken I will be finding another place to shop. read more

I have shopped here many times over the years. It has an excellent selection of kosher groceries. Unfortunately the meat has not been good and I've had to throw out chicken a couple of times recently because it smelled so bad. I also bought steak recently and it was not rotten but the quality was poor. It's too bad since I will now have to go into the City to shop. read more

Stay away! The place is dirty, poorly managed, poorly laid out, and the checkout people are incompetent. We've gotten chickens that were rancid (they replaced them but it made preparation for Shabbat a nightmare), Parmesan cheese that was moldy, and other products that were not fresh. And if a customer complains, they make the whole line behind them wait. And wait. And wait some more. They just don't care. During covid they didn't enforce masking because... they just don't care. Go to the kosher store on Johnson, or go to Westchester or Teaneck. Just don't go here until they clean up their act (and their store). read more

Twice I have got chicken and is spoiled there and when I brought it back they told me that it wasn't their fault. Great Market ,excellent food ,service and groceries .

I had the worst experience today! I have been a customer of them for as long as they first opened. I buy all my kosher products and more there!!! I have noticed these past months that they always put price on their vegetables/fruits different from what is into their system. As I pointed out today again, the cashier argued with me but at the end removed the label that was incorrect. Then the manager was so rude when I asked him to honor the price of the label. My husband called them to complain and the manager simply LIED to him, pretending that the label was misplaced and it was for another type of tomatoes. NO, I pointed this to the cashier from the beginning, the label mentioned "Plum tomatoes". Furthermore, the manager agreed with me that it was their mistake. So why couldn't he honor the mislabeled item as any other business would have done it. Why telling me in a VERY RUDE way "You don't want the tomatoes, don't take it!" and pretend to my husband that their customer service is impeccable. So, treat your costumers as you would like to be treated ... I used to go there at least twice a week if it is not more since they opened. I always recommend new comers to Riverdale to go to this place for shopping. They just lost me and my entire family as customers and any future opportunities... Will shop elsewhere and recommend other places in Riverdale or online. Too bad it was convenient... Oh well I prefer to give my money to people who respects their long timer customers ! read more

Excellent Kosher products and they have a huge selection of sauces. The sauce aisle is my favorite aisle. They also have free parking for customers. This place has a lot to offer. I just wish the prices were a tad bit lower; otherwise this place is Ko-sher!!!! Challah back.... read more

I have been a long-time Riverdale resident and have seen this place go through many transitions. Overall, the store is nice and relatively clean. Staff is not too helpful, but the owner is extremely helpful and attentive. The prices are astronomical, even by Riverdale standards. There is no reason that the premium is so much. The meat is the same stuff as you would buy anywhere. The takeout is good, but super expensive as well. The take out special is good food but the price structure is ludicrous. On Sunday and Monday it costs one price. Tuesday and Wednesday, a bit more. Thursday and Friday, double the price that it costs Sunday and Monday. Who has every heard of a store doing this? I assume their food cost is the same no matter what day they are selling it. This amounts to just screwing people. The other thing that drives me crazy about this place is the checkout staff. They are teenagers, which in and of itself isn't a big deal. What is a big deal is that they are rude and don't pay attention to anything. They are ALWAYS on the phone and texting. I challenge anything to go in there and find a time where this isn't the case. I have been double charged for items on multiple occasions because the staff was on the phone. I visit this small market sometimes during my lunch hour. For a little space, they have a ton of interesting and different inventory. They have Calafia almond milk (the BEST almond milk) and Skinny Girl sparking sodas. I was intrigued by the Skinny Girl Soda as I'd never seen it elsewhere and picked one up the last time I was at the Market. It was Strawberry Lemonade and the Strawberry flavor was spot on. I was a little disappointed when I looked at the ingredient list and saw a ton of unpronounceable/chemical ingredients, but the drink was very tasty and maybe a better choice than a normal diet soda? They also have these awesome natural kiwi fruit roll ups (kiwi, banana and pineapple flattened into tasty circles (and with no added sugar or preservatives.) I've not explored the store as much as I would like as I'm usually in a rush when I'm there, but it's really a fun little market. I don't keep kosher but I like to visit this store for new and interesting food finds. read more

I primarily shop here for the kosher meat, which is of excellent quality, and occasionally for kosher products not available elsewhere. RKM's meat prices are the usual outrageous for kosher meat, EXCEPT they have a weekly special email that always features EXCELLENT prices. If you buy the specials only (and keep in a freezer) you can't find better prices for RKM's level of quality meats (5 stars for that). I enjoy shopping here because the store carries an interesting range of products that I cannot find anywhere else in Riverdale. Their selection of gluten free products is particularly good. I too am a long time Riverdale resident. Your review is unfair at best and malicious. Have you actually compared pricing elsewhere to be able to make such a bold statement? My husband and I were long time "Fresh Direct" customers until one day my colleague asked me if I ever bothered to take the time to compare prices: They are virtually the same, if not cheaper. Yes, there are places in Brooklyn that charge close to cost, but this is certainly not the norm. I find the entire staff there to be very helpful and totally professional, as do most of my friends. The one time where I had an issue the staff resolved it quickly and professionally. It is people like you that are going to drive a store like the Kosher Market out of business and then we will have nothing. Is this what you are aiming for? Your "the grass is greener on the other side" attitude stinks and rather then complain you need to take the time to actually do some research and make sure you are speaking the truth and not just slandering. read more

aisles are narrow and prices are way too high, glatt kosher food is usually more expensive, but they jack up prices. because they are right next to sar high school, most of the time, the store is busy with rude and annoying high school kids. parking lot is terrible, but because they have the largest selection of glatt kosher food in the area, they stay in business read more
