Lines all the time
Juan T.

There is always a line and the market is a messy show. Seems as nobody walks the isles to clean up or reorganize the stock. There is at best 2 cashiers at any given time. Empty boxes everywhere but they don't get replenished. How about the juice and milk.. all the way to the back and we have no way to get them.

Cheeses, crackers, jams and stroopwafels from Aldi

Aldi has a great variety of food at good prices. Bought items to make a cheese plate and everyone loved it. Unfortunately the lines are usually very long at this Aldi, as there are few cashiers; there are never any shopping carts available when I come to this location and recently when I went, most produce did not look fresh and some had mold (raspberries). I also bought bars (apple pie and peanut butter ones) which I didn't realize until after but one was already expired and the other was expiring a week later. Hopefully that doesn't happen again, but next time I'll be sure to read the date carefully before buying!

I come to Aldi often and I do not understand why they do not open earlier especially on Sunday. They always have a crowd outside the door waiting for them and it is really annoying when the door does not open on time. This has happened a time or two. Some of the staff members are not very open to helping out customers when you have a question and others go above and beyond. I like this store but, I wish they would have all items that are posted in the weekly ad available on the day the new ad comes out which is Sunday. I am always told to come back Wednesday or Thursday for a specialty item because it is not there. I love the prices and the selection of products they have. They are cheaper than most stores especially with the produce items. I love the exotic cheeses they offer such as smoked white cheddar it is delicious - this is a must buy item! Overall I like the store I just think they need to be better organized. I intend to come back and continue shopping there.

Such a good place to stock up on pantry and everyday items but also a good place for random snacks and household items!

A must visit market for your fruits and veggies. The farmers' that come here are small family-owned farms from NY & NJ! Everything they carry is fresh, local, and organic with no pesticides or spray. And as if all of the above PLUS having a farmers' market up here in the Bronx isn't amazing enough their prices are ridiculous!!! They are often the same if not cheaper than the regular stuff we find in our supermarkets. Really, I find this to be pretty incredible because organic food is usually so much more expensive, but not here. I went there today and picked up apples, plums, peaches, kale, red basil (smells AMAZING), eggplant, zucchini, cucumbers, tomato, beets and organic corn (I stressed organic because what we find in stores is mostly genetically modified corn) - my total was under $25. The market often has cooking demos and you can always find literature on food education, recipes, seasonality, recycling, etc. and the beautiful ladies that organize this truly do an amazing job and are very passionate about everything the market stands for. If are a local make an effort to stop by you will not be disappointed. Go support!!!

I went to the farmers market this week up in Kingsbridge since I missed the Saturday one in Inwood. When I arrived to the market I was...surprised. There's only one stand! When I think of a farmers market I imagine 10+ vendors selling a variety of locally sourced goods. The stand that was there only has fruits and veggies. I didn't think to ask at the time if there are more vendors during the spring/summer season. The individuals that were running this particular stand were warm and welcoming! At the market I picked up zucchini, squash, and a mini-bucket of brussel sprouts. My favorite part of this market was its affordability - those three items for $5.75?! Sign. Me. UP! The veggies were fresh and great in my dinner Sunday evening. At the end of the day I did have to run to Aldi to pick up items I was hoping to purchase at this market. But it won't stop me from coming back since the prices can't be beat, and I hope they can feature more vendors in the future!

They also have a lot of food necessities and household items. Their flower section is inexpensive and not bad at all - a good place if you want to pick up some everyday flowers for your lady or mom. They'll make fresh bouquets of roses for you if you can find someone. They've always had the 2 registers in the middle of the store which caused 2 lines forming. Now, the cashiers are in the corner and the bright customers can never figure out how to form a line or two. People are all over the place, blocking aisles, and cutting each other off.

Now, I'm sure commercial landlords are used to tenants asking them to rearrange window and door placements on the street front, but to pull down the front wall entirely? I don't think I've ever seen that before. So... needless to say, this place never closes! There's always a really huge selection of fruits and vegetables out front (hence the name of the store, I think) and they're all really reasonably priced, if not downright cheap. Other than that, it's just a really large bodega with an unusual selection of herbs and chilis and other such things I don't recognize from my conservative suburban upbringing. :) Mostly I just enjoy coming here to make jokes about not being unemployed in Greenland. But that just goes to show I've seen The Princess Bride far too many times.
