The wife is Sicilian. She approves. This place must not only be seen, but it MUST BE EXPERIENCED!!! These places are so rare nowadays. Here in the Bronx, it is still alive. read more

We bought some prosciutto and some speck -- both excellent. Could have (should have!) tried a bunch of other stuff. The smell of this shop is just insane -- I'm not sure I've ever experienced anything like it (and I grew up with a family butcher shop). read more

Oh boy... This place is awesome. If you haven't seen the famous "sausage chandelier"...you need to visit this place, even if it's only to see that. The selection of cured and dried meats is outstanding. They also offer cheeses, some bread, and other Italian products such as olives, sauces, pasta, and the like. They even make sandwiches which are loaded with meat and can feed two people easily. Everything here is fresh and of the highest quality. It's all delicious and if you love Italian cured meat...you'll think you've gone to salumeria heaven...! Very highly recommended if you are over on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx's Little Italy (much better than the tourist Little Italy in Manhattan) ! read more

Just going IN and experiencing the Sausage Chandelier and getting that first whiff of salumi history is all you really need to know. If you've been...you've been back. Every bit of cured meat we tried was divine. The staff knows their sausage, their cheese...everything. This is one of those places you MUST visit at least twice in your life. Outside of being in ITALY to eat these cured meats...this is where you need to be. And you can get SANDWICHES made from all of it. They will let you sample stuff...don;t be shy about asking. It can get crowded so be prepared. If you CAN'T make it to the store...try their online store. Definitely a do not miss destination. Plus...it's on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, so there is plenty to eat and do after you finally leave the store. read more

Vast assortment of Italian cheese and sausages. There's a famous chandelier of sausages in the ceiling they leave you in awe. My partner loves liver sausage in particular, a type of sausage that is difficult to find in the states. A must visit when one is in the Bronx looking for Italian goods. read more

When in Little Italy, you have to grab some prosciutto and sausage from here. The staff are super nice and fast, which makes the experience perfect. Food & Service: 5/5 They have a huge variety of homemade sausages -- honestly, you can't go wrong. I came a little too late for their sweet fennel, so I ended up with a pound of their classic sweet sausage. They even offer a thin version, but I prefer mine thick. I also picked up a pound of prosciutto -- the perfect pairing with some fresh mozzarella from a few blocks down. Ambiance: It's hard not to be impressed when you look up and see over 40 sausages aging above you. Such a cool, authentic sight that really adds to the charm of this place. All in all, if you're in Little Italy, this is a must-stop for classic Italian staples done right. read more

What a dream! If you're in New York City, jump on the Amtrak and go visit the Arthur Avenue neighborhood. It is very much worth the trip. Stop at the Calabria pork store and purchase some small portions of a variety of meats, pick up some cheese and a nice loaf of bread at one of the other authentic shops And find a place to sit down and enjoy. Absolutely fantastic. Service is excellent, efficient and very informative. Ambiance: the picture says it all. read more

Have you ever been rained on? But have you ever looked up and saw a cloud of sausages. This is the place to go. Besides the meat chandelier, there are also sausages in the fridge and luckily I decided to try the cheese sausage and the broccoli rabe sausages and they were both delicious and flavorful! It was also very affordable. There are also some snacks, pasta and goods from Italy. At the counter they had fresh mozzarella! One was Smokey and the other was with parsley and they were both delightful, being soft and fresh! The service was friendly, kind and quick. The meat samples at the counters were also really tasty, my favorite is the spicy one! The shop is in the middle of the block and it's a small shop, so make sure not to miss this lovely gem! All in Little Italy in Bronx! read more

What an experience. Upon entering this shop, there is a lot to take in by site and smell. There is sausage hanging from the ceiling, almost as if there's a salami chandelier and the smell is pretty overwhelming. The spicy salami, which is sold by weight is by far the best I've ever had. I let the man at the counter know I was about to hop on a short flight bringing that, and he wrapped it up really really well. Shopping here felt like an authentic experience in little Italy and I imagine not much has changed over the decades. Also, this store had some of the best air conditioning on Arthur Avenue, so it was a little bit of an oasis from the July read more

Went to Arthur Avenue with a friend on a Sunday and decided to make our own little "food crawl." We started at Cosenza's Fish Market, then headed to Bronx Beer Hall inside the Arthur Avenue Retail Market, and eventually made our way to Calabria Pork Store. There was a short line at Calabria, but it moved quickly thanks to how many staff were working. They're famous for their "meat chandelier", rows of sausages hanging from the ceiling, completely covering it, and as soon as you walk in, you're hit with that unmistakable smoked sausage aroma. We picked up mozzarella to go: both the smoked mozzarella and the fresh mozzarella. The fresh version was my favorite, creamy, soft, and incredibly flavorful, while the smoked one had a unique taste that was fun to try. We got two full plastic pints, and the total was only $20. An amazing deal for such high-quality cheese and a perfect addition to our Arthur Avenue crawl. read more

This is an exclusive salumeria. No other salumeria in the NYC 5 boroughs makes in-house dry cured sausages Capicola prosciutto etc. Bo where else will you find the variety they have here yes they even make their own NDuja Dry liver sausage pancetta bacon and guanciale . The front case is all fresh meats and sausages to cook at home. There's a large variety of Cheeses and imported Italian items in the shop including pastas anchovy sodas etc. The men working here are professional. They are fast and patient. All very experienced. Family owned and operated. Do t come with a food tour. They don't shop they are in the way of customers. Before you even enter you can see the ceiling from front to back with salumeria in all stages of curing. If you are buying many items you must ask them to mark the packages( label the different sausages) PS they also sell sandwiches that Nikes deli could never come close to. Fresh pork products and outstanding dry sausage made on the premises. Selection of cheeses on site make this a one stop shop.

We to Aurth Avenue in search of what my aunt and I call " goodies ." We venture into a few legacy markets. I call them that because they have been around for multiple generations. I love shopping in places like this. We needed a little pick me up and stopped in a cafe. This is where we met the son of the owner of Calabria Port. He escorted us across the street and we found this amazing specialty shop. 50 years in the Bronx. They are part of the Bronx. Please visit!!! read more

Just an awesome unique experience. The smell is veryyy strong. The cold cuts and pork is fantastic.

I ordered Dried Sweet Sausage online from Calabria and could not be happier. Fast delivery (just before Christmas too!) of superb product. EXCELLENT quality at a reasonable price. Talk about a great value! I hope to get to visit them someday, but am very happy with my initial, online experience. My whole family has had homemade, dried sausage for many events but the number of people making it is decreasing fast. Calabria's Dried Sweet Sausage just won over a whole bunch of them! read more

If you're ever on Arthur Avenue, Bronx-NYC you must go and check out Calabria Pork Store. Not a very big store but a very charming, old-world pork and meat shop. As you enter...you get a strong smell of all the hanging sausages and soppressatas drying from the ceiling. They call it the "sausage chandelier". Besides sausages, soppressatas and salamis...they have a variety of meats in their front case. My 2 favorites are for sure the rolled pork bracciola and the sweet sausage stuffed with broccoli rabe. Excellent for an Italian Sunday dinner! The guys behind the counter are always very attentive and helpful and there always seems to be a touch of humor in the air. They have an assortment of imported Italian cheeses as well and they are priced very reasonably. BTW...my favorite is the smoked mozzarella! It's great! So...should you go to Arthur Avenue, you gotta make this one of the places you go to. I think you'll enjoy it....... read more

Came in on an food shop/crawl to the Bronx and of course we had to come to this little hole in the wall (per all the raving my little nonna did about this place). I was definitely not disappointed. This place was a cheese heaven for me (since I don't eat meat) but if you're a prosciutto, salami or soppressata lover such as all the ones that come in, then this is the place for you! Wide variety of everything hanging from the ceiling. Fresh cheese out the door. They have samples for you to try and very affordable prices. The staff is extremely nice despite being in the middle of the Bronx. Delicious burrata, Bocconcini and nodini. Other Italian pantry favorites available as well. Place gets packed but line moves fast. Credit cards accepted $10 min. Definitely a Bronx favorite! This place is mozzare-hella good so I will for sure be back for more! read more

the store has good stuff. However, workers ripp off customers!!!! Went there yesterday. ordered 2lbs sweet sausages at $5.99 per lb. the bill was $39.50!!! You must be vigilant when shopping there. They assume you are a tourist and over charge you. Their practice is to weigh your purchase behind the counter out of view so they may Overcharge you. Now that I know how they play, I will Never shop there again! Be vigilant when shopping there and any other store in the area. I am certain other vendors do the same. read more

This review is for the sandwiches (see below and the pic). So simple but the quality of the meat, cheese, and bread (esp bread) was outstanding. Their sandwiches are no frill and let the main ingredients speak for the flavor. Very little oil and vinegar added and that's really all you need. Italian combo Prosciutto Sopressata (sorry if I botched the spelling) We would've gotten the porchetta but it was sold out. read more

Really good sandwich but they didn't have any bread and asked us to buy bread from next door first. Odd but weird/funny experience to talk about.
