This is flat out the finest overall meat market in the NY Metro Area. Atmosphere, tradition, quality, service, and variety are all "off the charts". Of course the parking is a nightmare, but that's hardly their fault. Recommendations: Any sausage in the place, but the lamb chervata (sic) is sinfully good. Its the rough grind of the pork that's the secret. Try the stuffed capon, the Frenched chicken, duck breast, and the sliver top roast. This is the Bronx, grow a thicker skin, and yeah, you were wasting the guy's time...instead of being a tighwad spend the dollar or two for an hour's time on the meter. Typically I'm in and out of there in 15 minutes, on a holiday it may take 25. Biancardi's is fantastic. Every single butcher behind that counter is an artiste par excellence with a wealth of knowledge regarding cuts, methods, uses, etc.. They will cut, trim, tie, filet, etc.. whatever it is you need and they always have a ready stock of various bones on hand if you make your own stock such as veal or beef for instance. They grind meat to order if that's your thing. My grandfather was a butcher and my mom would only buy ground to order meat, so that's my cue. They make cevapi and their own pancetta. The steaks are not restaurant quality prime, but they are quite good and fairly priced. The butchers are solid craftsmen and although there's usually a good crowd, there are enough of them and they have some room to work. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience. I asked for sliced bacon BEFORE paying $22 worth of lamb chops. I was told by the butcher they had no bacon. After I paid I saw the bacon, hanging up. I said to the clerk, "I thought you said you had no bacon". After slicing 1/2 pound that I asked for, he refused use my card again because it was under $5. I had no cash. It was HIS fault that I had to have a separate bill. He REFUSED TO SELL IT TO ME. But later I called the manager. He thoroughly apologized and stated that should have never occurred. I've been coming here for several decades, and today I decided I'm no longer coming back. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw most of the butchers handling meat barehanded and proceeded to exchange cash and card without washing their hands in between. I was beyond revolted and decided to step out before I even ordered. Rather than waste the trip, I walked down the street and visited Pete's instead, no such problem. I don't know if the pandemic has made me more acutely aware, and this was always a thing, or it is something new, but I'm surprised this is not brought up by other customers. Obviously, the meat will be cooked to hopefully kill off all the pathogens, but it makes me wonder if they are this careless what else is going on that we don't see? It is an actual health hazard, the number of times they touch money, then continue to handle meat and resume this cycle throughout the day. It got even worse when I saw one butcher Frenching a rack and chucking the discarded pieces right onto the floor, ignoring the giant bins while just laughing and chit-chatting with the customer. I don't understand what has happened to this place, maybe I was disillusioned with how "great" this place was, and it was always like this (dirty), but it just feels like another institution of Arthur Ave going to the dogs. read more

What a nasty bunch of butcher divas! I asked for a specific meat and they were not helpful or interested to serve me what I wanted. I was meant to feel like they were doing me a favor when I suggested a different piece from the bottom selection. I asked them to change one of the three pieces and with the most foul attitude and grimace they finally changed one of the pieces. I was looked at as if I was wasting the butcher's time. It was awful. I felt intimidated to check the other pieces and now, as I prepare the meat, I find that there's a lot of waste on the other pieces as I suspected. When a customer walks into a shop, they should be treated as if they matter and not as if they are wasting the shop's time, as I was treated. If a piece of meat has too much waste on it, it should be discarded and not sold! These guys need to get a better attitude and spruce up their act or shut down entirely. There's no room in this world for this behavior anymore. read more

To say that this was a very uncomfortable visit to Biancardi's is the least I could say. I have never received such rude, dismissive customers service ever, especially from well recommended businesses such as this one. When placing my order I felt rushed, ignored and unwelcomed, No one should ever feel like that after walking out of any business; they could barely be bothered to put their cellphones down. And not to mention the butcher refusing to butcher. I had asked for 2 2" thick Prime Ribeyes, and came home to open a package with 2 1"thick Choice Ribeyes instead. I won't be coming back. read more

Whoever the a hole who answered was,he asked me, "are you for real, you called me to ask me that?" and he then hung up the phone on me.
