But during that process I stumbled on reviews for GEHM and what's not to love? I submitted a request for a quote through the website. I received a response more quickly than I expected. Mark had clearly read what I wrote (yippee), had a couple quick questions, and then gave me a quote which seemed reasonable to me. Great communication and I booked it with confidence. Mark did not disappoint. He was prompt, personable and professional. Ok, that's enough alliteration but you get the point. He did a GREAT job cleaning a very nasty second story deck patio roof - better than I expected! I had moved my horse to another pasture to give Mark safe access to the paddock on the side of the barn. OF COURSE on this ONE RANDOM DAY the horse's gate post shifted, the gate opened and the horse walked out, out the paddock gate (which I had left open for Mark) and into the driveway. I will be forever grateful for Mark alerting me to the situation. I never did hear back from the initial company I requested a quote from, but PowerHouse was one of the additional companies and answered back FIRST. I did get a couple other companies that reached out to help providing a quote but days after PowerHouse. Aaron from PowerHouse stopped by and took a look at the gutters we wanted replaced. He walked us patiently through our options, including special considerations we wanted for our house due to the way rain came down the roof strongly in certain areas. He had some custom solutions for each problem we brought up and walked us patiently through to build a game plan. The quote came - and knowing everything is expensive these days - it was still within our budget. He had said it was a one day job with him an another person, I backed out materials costs, and realized they were giving a pretty honest quote and due to the trust he had built with us, we didn't even finish getting the other quotes, which is very unusual for me when looking to hire. The best we could have saved with another company would be at most 10%, but I wasn't even sure of that, and the trust was the biggest thing my wife and I were looking for. PowerHouse has only a few reviews on Yelp, which is why I'm leaving it here. G00gle has 40+ reviews which I read through and we accepted the quote that night. Within three days he was at our house and quickly took down our old gutters (he also hauls these away) and started building out the new gutter system. The biggest observation I can give is Aaron doesn't cut corners to get the job done right. Though he only initially quoted a "one day job at 4-6 hours to complete" the job took him 10 hours. He stayed until everything was perfect. The system also comes with a 5 year service warranty, and an expected 20+ year lifespan (with good maintenance/care). Our gutters look phenomenal. He also added a downspout "trap" which you can open to trap and fish leaves and junk out before risking clogging up your underground drain/plumbing. They are really cool! I highly recommend hiring PowerHouse for your gutter project. Reasonable prices, quality materials and craftsman level installation, and high trust through the project. He's PERFECT at what he does!

But really the thing that inspired this review is some water was getting behind a fascia board during the recent heavy rains so I took a video and asked them if they could help with that -- they had someone out a couple days later who inspected the situation, determines the roof was missing something that's supposed to stop that, and replaced it the next day. It's still not clear to me if that was actually in the scope of their work but clearly they care about making sure gutters are behaving as expected and if the roof isn't doing its job, then the gutters can't either. I don't get the sense it was an expensive part and I'm sure if it was extensive work they'd either need to refer out or get a change form, but the simplicity of the interaction is something I really appreciate. The customer rep Morgan is awesome / responsive, the crew was super nice (Andrew and Clayton) and the owner replied timely to questions / concerns as well. The a roughly 3000 sq home - 2 story, the project probably took the team 1.5 hours to complete. I surveyed the site afterwards and it was in good shape - not a whole lot of leftover debris from the roof. The crew used a water hose for the moss / gutter clean and afterwards applied a liquid solution to prevent moss - I was told the solution should be applied every 6 months (water hose and not pressure wash as pressure wash is too much for the roof). A brush wasn't used like some of the other gutter cleaning companies. The next day - when the sun was out I walked across the street to get a clear view of certain sections of my roof. I noticed "green" / moss still on a certain area so I took pictures and sent them to Jordan. He replied and said that he would have the team come back out and take care of it. Overall - Issaquah gutter has great customer service. Giving them a four star because we had to have the crew come out after the project to get the remainder of the moss on the roof. He went above and beyond to service our vents (even with some surprise obstacles - and perhaps some lapses in training). Since this particular service is new for this company (which we didn't know when scheduling), there are still some "kinks" being worked out. First, our tech was not provided access to information we shared with Customer Service in our scheduling process (i.e. our tech didn't know he was serving a home with ceiling vents, and thus, didn't bring a ladder or proper tools AND we were told by Customer Service that he would service the furnace, which he wasn't trained to do). Also, the company doesn't currently vacuum/wipe down affected surfaces after a duct cleaning service, so customers are left with a mess to clean-up. Growth opportunities acknowledged, overall, we enjoyed our experience with this company and can't say enough good things about Justin as a person. He was really such a joy. Pro Tip: Ensure you confirm your service needs directly to the tech before they arrive at your home, so they are adequately prepared.

Home Improvers are great quality craftsmen, very professional and very responsive…read more The Home Improvers crew (2 guys - both of whom were very professional) installed new mounting blocks on the outside of our house for 3 new lights we purchased. The new lights were larger than the "old school" exterior lights that were on our house so they didn't fit the 4 in x 4 in mounting blocks the house was built with. I looked into installing new mounting blocks myself but quickly realized I was in over my head and that it would take me a lot longer than I expected to get the new lights installed. Fortunately, Yelp search for handymen near me connected me to Home Improvers who responded very quickly with a ballpark estimate. They came out the next day with some mounting blocks that had taken them a while to find (had to visit 3-4 home improvement stores to find them) and even those were a bit too small. So the guys *custom made* 3 mounting blocks. They securely attached the mounting blocks (perhaps even trimming the siding to ensure the fit nicely... hard to tell now that they are installed so nicely.) They also caulked and painted the mounting blocks, installed the new lights and used clear silicone around the lights to ensure they were water-tight. We'll definitely call Home Improvers again for our next home improvement items (including tile work, handyman services, etc.) They were very personable and did a high quality job.
