We brought our car in after someone damaged it in a parking lot. We'd used Ted's before for repainting a car that had environmental damage and it looked so good afterward that I often got offers to buy it! For our current car, they examined the damage on two panels, took lots of pictures, and wrote up a detailed, itemized estimate. They answered all of our questions about how they would do the work, match the color, etc. We had two other repair shops give us estimates as well, one of which was a shop recommended by the insurance company of the driver who damaged our car. They both included more procedures than seemed necessary. We asked about them back at Ted's and were assured they were not needed. In one case, they had included a panel that was not actually damaged. We went with Ted's. Our car was fixed in a week and looks like new! They even cleaned the whole inside. They communicated clearly with us throughout and also dealt with the insurance company, making it very seamless for us. Highly recommend! read more

Heard about this place from family and friends, sad this doesn't have more reviews yet! It can be kind of hard to find a place that doesn't want to rip you off... Thankfully, I have found trust and quality at Ted's. This is a great place to stop by for your repairs! They are professional and get things done with efficient timing and superior quality and results (wow, this review is wordy). Really though, I or my family have been through a FEW collisions (nothing serious/no one was harmed thankfully) and have brought our cars here every time. This last time, we brought in one of our cars after it had been hit in a parking lot by a mystery hit-and-runner. They left a lovely hole in the bumper along with scratches. Whoever worked on my car did an amazing job, can't even tell anything happened! I have added a before and after picture of the damage that you should be access (on this yelp page) should you want to. We've had a great pleasure working with Ted. Very accommodating and friendly; awesome customer service. My housemate wrecked my vehicle in an accident that was 80% his fault. Fortunately, nobody was hurt; just my baby Ruby Red Van (that's her name). I was seriously upset when he called to tell me he was in an accident. I got on the phone to call my wonderful insurance company (Capitol Insurance Group) to find out what I needed to do. They sent the assessor from SJ the next day. After he examined Ruby Red Van , took photos, the& wrote up the estimate I was told to take her in for repairs. I looked on-line for an auto body shop, but there were several to choose from and I wanted someone familiar with the make & model of my van. It occured to me to call my KIA dealership to see who they use. Immediately I was told to take her to Ted's Collision Center on Abbott Street. The housemate rushed her over & dropped her off after chatting with Ted, the owner. It took several days to get all of the parts & do the repairs, but it was worth the wait. She has a new front panel & bumper. She is bright & shiny, just like new. They scrubbed & washed her after9 repairing her. I highly recommend Ted's Collision Center! Just had my prized Dodge Ram truck painted at Ted's and it came out great. I originally went there and told Ted I wanted a good paint job with good quality paint and clear coat. Ted suggested a higher end DuPont product. I took that under advisement and did some research comparing it to PPG. Ted's price to paint my truck and camper was comparable to the other two bids I had received and I liked his input and attention to detail such as dents and alignment problems with the bed to the cab that he pointed out. The price was agreed to and I told him I had to have my truck back for an upcoming vacation we had planned. This truck pulls our family trailer. I gave him a drop dead date and told him I had to have it back by then or before. Ted said he could make that date and would get my truck in by the following weekend. I dropped in for a couple of unannounced visits and on the first visit I didn't even recognized my vehicle. All hardware had been stripped off of the truck and the entire metal had been sanded. The worst areas had been stripped and prepped for the primer. It appeared no time had been wasted getting on my job, I was impressed! The next visit I found the hood and tali gate had been removed, already painted and the rest of the truck was in the paint booth. Ted brought me one of the paint cans and showed me that it was the DuPont brand and color I had selected and agreed to so there was no slight of hand or substitution of an inferior product, I liked that. The following week I received a call that my truck was ready, and it was at least a week ahead of the agreed upon date! The vehicle looked great and my wife was also impressed. Ted said any problems just let him know. The next day while having a better look after the excitement cooled down some I found one area with a nasty run and drips behind one of the frameless window edges, This is the sort of spot most people wouldn't even see but it was near the drivers door and I would think of it every time I got in the truck. I met one of the employees that morning before the shop opened and he said they would take care of it and gave me a ride to my meeting. 2 1/2 hrs later it was done and ready for pick up! Incompetent and inefficient. Any problem caused by them will be blamed on you, and you will likely find yourself spending more trying to fix the problems their half-assed efforts cause you. Mechanics can, and should, do better. Almost enough to trade the car in for a bicycle in hopes of avoiding similar service. read more

Boyfriend scratched the corner bumper and scuffed the paint off. Before coming to teds I got two estimates at two other body shops down the street (Abbott and searsons) Abbott quoted me 1200 and searsons $682.all that needed to be done was to sand down and repaint bumpers. Then I found teds and thank god I did, he was quick, and to the point only charged a quarter of what the other body shops charged. This review is disappointing for me to make as my family has used Ted's for numerous incidents over the last 4 years and he always does top quality work. On this occasion, I dropped off my 2009 Malibu to have an insurance repair made as well as a repair made to the other side of the vehicle - the other side was not insurance related but I figured I'd get it fixed while it was there. The work was completed quickly, but they only completed the insurance claim. They completely forgot the work on the other side of the car. I was going to look over it and go on to get it fixed anyway when I learned that the repair was actually $306 dollars more than my "preliminary estimate." I understand that estimates are just that, but I have also always understood that a good business stays in touch with customers when costs are going to exceed the estimate. They did not. I asked upon pickup what the difference was, and they were unable to tell me. They repaired the existing panel rather than replacing it with new, which was in the quote. Technically, the repair was cheaper... which should have brought the price down. I pointed this out to no avail, being told that there were just "lots of little things" that made up the difference. When asked about these "little things" the individual took the paperwork back to the owner to find out for me. She returned and informed me that they had to take a headlight assembly off to paint the fender. That was the only explanation that I received. 300 dollars amounted to having to take a headlight off of the car and put it back on. Granted, I know that you have to drop the front bumper cover on these cars to do that - but that part of the work was included in the original quote. All of that being said, the work (that was completed) is very solid, just as it always has been. I also understand that prices can increase with work, but when it jumps 300 dollars and comes in at 45 dollars more than the initial insurance estimate - I don't think it's too much to be asked where the dollars go. I am not out of pocket any money as insurance did cover it, but it is a very shady way of doing business. I truly thought for years that they were better than this, but today has left me very disillusioned. I will take back every recommendation I have ever given them, and will not make the mistake of utilizing them again. read more

Ted did a great job on my newly purchased 2007 Toyota Tundra. New bumper, panel and grill, new tail light. Buffed out headlights (they look brand new) and brush scratches along the sides of the truck. This truck looked a bit rough, but now looks great. The trucks resale value is worth much more than the very reasonable fee Ted charged me. I plan on taking my 06 Xterra to him next. read more

Someone recommended this shop to me he was a friend of the owner, so I took my car there for repairs.First off the girl in the office was very unprofessional. I let that slide, so I left my car, after about a week I got a call my car was ready so I went to pick it up, I looked at my car and right away noticed faults in the paint and also the repair and alighment of parts, The owner Ted(LUCKY) was very rude and got an attitude right away. He wouldn't even go outside so I could show him the problems. Turns out after talking to my friend that recommended him that he no longer had any of the employees that had worked on his car who he said were very proffessional and knew how to repair a vehicle right.
