It is a small space so crowding could happen easier than at most establishments but I liked the size as well. There was only one guy running the whole space but he did a good job with the 20 or so people who cycled through while I was there. Of the small food menu only had the pretzel but it was among the best I've ever had! Hopefully a food place moves in that they can partner with to increase the possibilities for food beyond frozen pizzas & the pretzel. That is as close to a complaint as I had but the excellence of the twist made up for the lack of options.

We were waiting by the host stand when the hostess came up, followed by who I assumed was the manager on duty, all in a huff. Instead of a basic, professional welcome, we were snapped at: "It's going to be about 20-30 minutes to seat you, we are understaffed and very busy!" No apologies, no "Hey, please understand we are understaffed at the moment, if you like, please grab a drink at the bar and we will get you seated ASAP." The bar area seemed to be the only open section, and that was half-full at best. As someone in the industry, I get staggering tables, but to be so b*tchy about it is unacceptable. With both a street fair and the Bison game happening that same day, management should have expected that level of business and staffed accordingly. It wasn't our fault they were understaffed, and taking that frustration out on guests is a terrible way to make an impression on out-of-towners or locals alike!

The Drawing Room does the modern-elegant-with-a-speakeasy-wink thing just right--subtle entrance, clean lines, good energy without trying too hard. Cocktails are the main event and they deliver. Balanced, thoughtful, no weak links on the list. You can tell the bartenders actually care about what's in the glass. Only note: dial the lights down another notch or two. It's already intimate, but a little more low-lit mood would push that speakeasy feeling over the top. Otherwise? Easy yes. Chill spot, strong drinks, zero pretension.

There were signs on the entrance and on the directory to tell you which floor things were on, but that was it. You go to the basement and it was kind of fun to find the door to go in (it's not that hard, you can hear people). The place is so fun. It's decorated very dark, moody mid century. We sat ourselves at the bar as most other tables were full. The bartender who took care of us for the night was named Mason and he was excellent! So friendly, welcoming and eager to talk wine with us. The menu had a ton of specialty cocktails but their wine selection was too good not to try. We nerded out for a bit and he got us generous pours of what we ordered. We only got drinks but I'd return for the bites when in town next. Great spot!

Unfortunately, even though we were the only people dining in the restaurant, it took almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive. By that point, we were very hungry! We ordered two salads and a sandwich, so the wait felt especially long. The salads were just okay and on the smaller side for the price. My salad was $14, and my husband had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken for $20. My son ordered the club sandwich, which was really good, and the fries were excellent--although the portion was quite small. Overall, Rosewild has a beautiful atmosphere and friendly service, but the long wait and small portions made it a 3.5/5 experience for us. There were definitely some highlights, especially the club sandwich and fries, but we expected a little more for the price. Great location right downtown with street parking available.

I wanted to meet Harold, but he was probably getting so much needed shut eye, perhaps 6 feet under; may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace.
