The Drawing Room does the modern-elegant-with-a-speakeasy-wink thing just right--subtle entrance, clean lines, good energy without trying too hard. Cocktails are the main event and they deliver. Balanced, thoughtful, no weak links on the list. You can tell the bartenders actually care about what's in the glass. Only note: dial the lights down another notch or two. This was such a fun find! We were in town for NDSU graduation and wanted a drink while avoiding college bars. We stumbled upon this place on Google. There were signs on the entrance and on the directory to tell you which floor things were on, but that was it. You go to the basement and it was kind of fun to find the door to go in (it's not that hard, you can hear people). The place is so fun. It's decorated very dark, moody mid century. We sat ourselves at the bar as most other tables were full. The bartender who took care of us for the night was named Mason and he was excellent! So friendly, welcoming and eager to talk wine with us. The menu had a ton of specialty cocktails but their wine selection was too good not to try. We nerded out for a bit and he got us generous pours of what we ordered. We only got drinks but I'd return for the bites when in town next. Great spot! read more
