I ordered a holster in January of 2025, paid $185.00. I have called once a month for the past six months received two calls back (All telling me it is coming). Owner (Dave) changes the voicemail daily but rarely returns calls or e-mails. Six months, no holster, cant reach owner, took my money.... Twenty years ago when I first became a police officer, ESPECIALLY with my department, Ted Blocker was the go to holster. Well I ordered mine in May of 2024 and didn't get my holster till about June or July this year. When I got my holster for my FN 509, it didn't fit. So I contacted Dave (no offense, but Dave is clueless and should probably enjoy his retirement and not be the face/voice of a business) And sent photos of the holster. The gun would not seat in the holster at all. The front sight scraped across the top of the holster and it just didn't fit at all. I'll post pics. Then I contact Dave who's very nice, but just clueless. He tells me to return it and they'll make another one. Well I got the replacement holster about a month or so later. So now it's over a year wait for a holster. I get the 2nd holster and it looked like they just slapped 2 pieces of leather together and sewed it in the shape of a gun. The gun didn't fit at all. So it's been approximately 15 months since I placed my order and I still don't have a holster for my duty gun. And I've spoken to coworkers who have recently ordered from Ted Blocker and they've had to wait over a year for theirs too. So IF you want to wait a year for a holster that MIGHT fit your gun, this is your place. If you want a QUALITY HAND MADE HOLSTER, I suggest ALFONSO's of HOLLYWOOD HOLSTERS. THEY ARE LEGIT! I really really wish that I didn't have to write this and I would be wearing it on my belt today. Really really disappointed! I'll NEVER buy a holster from Ted Blocker again! I put pics of the first holster they gave me (it had white stitching on the top of the holster where my front sight scraped across. The second holster didn't have the same white stitching on it. So the two holsters they sent were completely different and the first one looked like it was built with quality.. and the second one they sent looked like they just rushed it and sent it. After not seeing my order by April, I began calling for status updates on my order and have been told "next month" every single month that I have called. I ordered and paid for a holster nearly one year ago and I am still waiting. Emails go unreturned. And the one time I got through by phone, they flim-flammed me with a sob story and told me that because I am in law enforcement they would prioritize my order. It's clear from the overwhelming negative feedback I have read here and elsewhere that they are untrustworthy and incompetent in business, which means that their craftsmanship doesn't matter. I will be pursuing legal remedies aggressively which, even if they do not result in me getting my long overdue product or a full refund, will help give them a very bad day for their deceptive business practices. I have purchased a variety of holsters from Ted Blocker for a couple of decades. What was once a premier leather holster company has fallen. These current owners (2024) are not up to par and I caution prospective buyers against using their services. The order for my holster came (after four months) made for the wrong side, L instead of R. It also came for some other gun type. I kept the mag pouch as it was correct and returned the holster but had to go through the credit card company to get a credit on the holster. They did not respond to any emails or phone messages. They have also moved their operation from Tigard, Oregon to somewhere Washington state. Buyer beware. read more

This place came highly recommended by a gun dealer I've known and trusted for many years. And I have every confidence that the quality of their holsters is quite good.... *IF* you can get them to actually make one for you... As others have noted, their holsters are insanely expensive which could be justified if the quality of their products is superior. Unfortunately, I guess we'll never know. Yes, the people there are very nice. Perhaps too nice since they run the place more as a hobby or a sideline and not as a serious business. They have a few demo items available to look at but none of that inventory is for sale. If you want to buy a holster they have to make it for you as a "custom order" even if your handgun is a standard, common firearm. No huge problem for me since my new pistol is most definitely not a common or off-the-shelf weapon. So I'm informed that it will be an 8 week lead time to make my holster. OK, fine. So two months and a couple of weeks pass and still no phone call. Call to check to see how my order is coming and I'm informed that they haven't even started working on it yet! What?!?!?!?!? The explanation/excuse is that they make their holsters "in groups". And that they have not yet started work on my "group". No offer of information on when my "group" might find it's way to the current production stage. Needless to say, this rather important tidbit of information was not mentioned when I placed my order. Had they said, "It will take us 8 weeks to manufacture your holster and we won't even start work on it until we feel like it.... which could be many months from now" they would have sent me to a competitor but at least they would have been honest. This is a pretty Mickey Mouse operation. I could well be dead (or they could go out of business) before my holster ever gets made. So... I reluctantly asked for a refund and am posting this very negative (but 100% accurate) review which will hopefully inform prospective buyers what to expect if they place an order here. Major bummer. I don't get the high quality holster I want and need. And Ted Blocker loses a customer and revenue due to their extraordinarily bumbling business practices. If you don't mind paying top dollar and then some for a holster that you may not actually take possession of for 4-6 months... or perhaps longer, then this may be the place for you. What a huge huge disappointment. I have been buying almost exclusively from Ted Blocker for the last 18 years. The former owners, Don and Shelly, and their staff - a father and son duo who REALLY know what they are doing - were wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. Although it did occasionally take longer than expected to receive the item, I was always blown away with the quality and craftsmanship, which made the wait totally worth it. I recently found out that the company was sold to new owners and let me tell you, they have completely run this business into the ground in almost every way possible. The woman who answers the phone and takes orders clearly has no clue what she is talking about. I asked a question to which she said she would need to get back to me..... 2 weeks and 5 unanswered phone calls later I finally got a response. The price I was quoted was a little bit more than I was used to paying (and trust me, this place has never been easy on the wallet), and felt like she just said an arbitrary number. They wanted pre-payment which was fine because I was expecting the quality I was used too, however after almost 6 weeks I have not received my order, I am out the several hundred dollars and no one ever answers the phone or responds to my emails. I am not sure what happened to the father/son team but I would sure like to find out. I will be looking for a new place to buy my holsters moving forward and would really like to find out if they are still in the business. read more

Excellent workmanship. However the front office people are very friendly, but follow up customer service is not good. They don't return phone calls and never provide a good idea as to when the custom order(s) will be ready. It took about three months to get my wester belt and gun holster, which was fine. Went here for a custom holster for my concealed handgun and wanted a price quote. The Owner Don was very nice and showed me the different options. They custom tailor each holster and can do special requests and fit almost any gun. They also carry high quality belts ranging in price from $40 to $100 and more. A basic holster seems to price out around $100. I will most likely be back very soon to put in an order with them. read more

These folks have made several custom holsters for me. The workmanship is excellent and you couldn't ask for nicer people. Don and Shellie (the owners) are into competitive cowboy shooting. I am not but I feel this means they know guns and holsters. Every holster they've made for me is custom....some of them designed to accommodate Crimson Trace laser sights. The guns fit perfectly as do the holsters. I also own two of their belts. Durable as the dickens. These things will last forever. read more

I have purchased several holsters over the last couple of years from Ted Blocker Holsters and each time the quality I have received is second to none. Moreover, they are very helpful in the proper selection of the right rig for your gun. Each holster I have received has fit each gun like they were meant for each other and if time is not a concern, order from this company. I have been lucky and received my holsters purchased to date in a reasonable timeframe but they do tell you at the outset it may be a while before it is ready. If you want a holster fast, I suggest you order online for that "Prime" delivery window. If you want a quality holster, order with TBH and have some patience; you will not regret it. read more

They may be great holster makers and leather workers, however my experience has been anything but. I wish I could leave a good review because the people in the office were fairly nice. However, I went in there to have a holster custom made for my Kimber Solo. I paid, and I was told it would be six weeks. I called at about 6 weeks wanting to know if it was ready yet. I was told they were behind and that it would be another two weeks. It has since been over 10 weeks and still no call, e-mail or anything to inform me what is going on. I understand business's can get busy, however maybe hire more people. I have been looking forward to doing more business with them, but I am NOT impressed at all with their level of customer service. I wonder how long I will have to wait until they actually call me and tell me what is going on. I'll write a review later to update on what is happening. I ordered the holster on 2/11/14. Today (05.15.14) I received a call from them and was informed that my holster was ready to be picked up. So, 15 weeks later I get my holster. Now, I'm trying to be understanding, however, this is horrible. I would be able to look over the time limit, but when I got the holster home, I realized it was made without the 45 degree angle for back, inside pants carry. So, it is not even what I ordered!
