I dropped off my sick MacBook Pro, and the experience was far superior to what I'm accustomed to in typical mall Apple Stores - speaking as a long-time Mac user. Before formally submitting my device, "Connie" asked me questions and conducted a thorough problem-solving session. My options were further detailed by the Service Manager, "Sunni." As a former Applecare specialist, Sunni is a bastion of insider insight and realistic advice. Overall, the service was more transparent and MUCH more personalized than I'm used to - though just sitting in peace without waiting or straining to hear the staff was a treat, and it's comforting to know the business employs an *accessible* team of experts with different specialties. I learned more during today's intake than in all my past repair consults combined through the Apple Store. The positive reviews grabbed my attention, and I can see why they're successful. I had a very old computer (maybe 12 years old) that I wanted wiped clean for possible use again (simple internet and word processing) and I wanted the photos saved. I didn't have the power cable. Victor, the proprietor, had me text him a photo of the model # sticker on the back. Based on that he was able to order the power cable (and I venmo'ed him the $25). When it arrived, I had trouble dropping off the computer (not that it's hard to find his shop; it was me) so he kindly picked it up at my house, and in just a few days the computer was ready...all at a very reasonable rate.
