Went in to get my iPhone 5s screen replaced due to it shattering. When I received the *fixed* phone and took it home, i found that there was a touch-screen issue where touches were not responding to the keypad...sometimes multiple letters would be printed out without touching keypad as well...the screen also has this blue tone to it, definitely low quality. This place was recommended by a friend, will definitely find a second opinion next time a place is recommended to me. Avoid at any cost. Needed mac book screen replacement. Not only that they were more expensive, $525 versus $399 at BuyNCell, but the job they have done was disaster. I asked them to clean up my startup disk and what they've done was formatting it and destroyed all my valuable data. Cherry on top, not only that they didn't apologized, but they tried to convince me that i specifically asked for it. Hey, are you sure that you want to format your hard drive. TechKnow Space is a Joke. The employee's are rude and have no understanding of customer service. Waited 22 minutes (the only customer in the store at the time) to drop off a Wii to be repaired. Dropped of Wii, Senor Bar and power supply, all items dropped off where marked on my work order. Went back a week later to pickup our Wii. Only the Wii and Senor bar where in the box, was told that the tech who worked on the unit was not in that day, told to return the next day to pickup the power supply. Returned the next day and was told they do not have the power supply and that I should check at home for the power supply. Spoke to a manager who did not believe that I dropped off the power supply even thought was marked on our customer work order copy. After I pointed that out to him, he told me he would speak to the tech after hours and he will tear the place a part to find it. Still waiting for a call back... read more

Okay so this was the MOST expensive I found. Seeing the below review I was surprised, but they were double what others were and the same warranty.. If the warranty was better I would have considered it. I have been quoted $40.00 for 3 places with 60 day warranty so I was surprised. I liked how close they were to me, but in my case not worth it I rather not by double and will just drive to save $40.00 Hope if you need to get something done your prices are quoted fairly reasonable and they do a good job. read more

When I visit the place for repairing my phone, It wasn't open even if it was already after opening hour. And a lady who work in there opened door and came out. I entered. then nobody was in the front desk. I found another lady in staff area. I called her and she helped me out. She was kind. And then few hours later, I called them on phone. A guy picked it up. I asked him how long will it take for process. His language was polie but his tone was not. He think I am some kinda idiot who don't understand things. He did even hang up. I was so upset. I did visit the store for my phone. Another lady was there she was kind. But I am still kinda shocked about the guy who was on the phone. I have a blackberry passport that the charging port had been broken and I needed it fixed. I called the shop and asked if they could fix it, and if they had the part in stock to do the repair, and they said "yes", so I drove an hour from Kitchener to get the repair done. When I got there, the front desk person told me I had to leave the passport's password with them so they could guarantee everything was working, or I could take it home and not get it fixed. Since I was pressed to get my unit working again I wrote the password down and asked them to send me an email when it was done. An hour later, no email, so I went back to the shop only to be told they "couldn't fix it", that they'd tried the part and it "didn't work." Later in the day I found a Blackberry factory repair location, and the attendant there was able to get the unit plugged in and charging. He said there was a piece of plastic blocking the charging port that hadn't been removed. Translation - the TechKnow guy didn't even try to do the repair, didn't send me an email when they determined they couldn't do the repair, which meant I wasted over 2 hrs driving and an hour of waiting for nothing. With respect to handling confidential information, the password was still on the sign up sheet when I returned, and when I asked them to destroy it, the guy scribbled over top of the password instead of shredding the document. Considering Blackberry has a factory / repair facility in Cambridge, I'd highly recommend sending your BB there for repairs instead. read more

Went for a simple battery replacement on my phone. We quickly noticed when we got home that the battery problem was still there and we concluded that they never replaced it in the first place. Had to drive all the way back and get it repaired "again". They said to me twice that it is likely a motherboard issue and not the battery (not true). Will never go back. I believe it was an accident, but they also never once apologized and were very defensive with me. Plus, the store was quite busy the first time we were there and there were 3 or 4 other people yelling with staff so I was not the only dissatisfied customer that day. I'll be taking my electronic repairs to other service shops from now on. read more

Long story short: They mislead me and told me incorrect information about my repair and returned my Laptop to me in worse condition then when I gave it to them blaming me for their mistakes and refusing to give me any compensation. If I could give them a zero I would avoid these guys at all costs. I took my laptop to them because I thought I had a hardware failure with the Video display chip with my Lenovo Y560 Laptop which is a common problem with that model. Few days later get a call to inform me that the laptops hardware is fine the problem is 1 program causing issues and the operating system had some issues and needs to be reinstalled. They quoted me at $99 dollars for the operating system reinstall and $30 for a recovery. I explained back that my Laptop the Lenovo Y560 has a built in secondary hard drive with the operating system there for reinstall so I can do it myself but I would like to know more about the recovery could you explain. Their staff person on the phone replies to me "the recovery will put your laptop back to how it EXACTLY was when you brought it in" I responded with "So it will be EXACTLY how it was when I brought it in minus the 1 program" their staff response "yes EXACTLY how it was minus that one program" I say "ok go ahead that will save me a bunch of time reinstalling and resetting up everything". End of conversation. Couple days later get a phone call laptop is ready. Pick it up it take it home turn it on and to my horror fresh install of windows 7 and a few pictures, music and videos. Everything else gone, several programs had modified files now gone not backed up, Recording and editing software several settings that took hours of trial and error to setup gone. I called them requesting to speak to a manager about a refund told he was in a meeting give them my information told he will called me back. Several hours pass I call back multiple times being told he will call me back. Finally call and the owner Ash answers I explain my situation calmly I never once screamed or yelled at any staff despite wanting to. Manager explains back to me that it is my fault for not asking the correct questions. My 2 questions "please explain what a recovery is?" There response a "recovery is we put your laptop back to EXACTLY how it was" question 2 "EXACTLY how it was minus that 1 and only program" there response "yes EXACTLY how it was minus that 1 program". I tell this to the manger he tells me "when we state exactly how it was we mean operating system and personal files like music, documents, and pictures. It was your fault for not asking about all programs no refund." At this point I did let me frustration out and yelled at the owner and hung up knowing I had been ripped off and would not get any help from them. So in the end I paid $146 for something I could have done myself for free and done a better job backing up everything. The only reason I went with their repair was because I was promised my laptop would be EXACTLY the same as it was when I left it. I will never go back to them for anything ever again. UPDATE: So while reinstalling my software I have now been treated to a Blue screen of Death multiple times, the programs I was trying to install when these crashes occurred were: Direct X, Battle net Client, Windows security Essentials. I am now going to take my Laptop to the Microsoft Store where I have been told they do free diagnostics for windows products. I am hoping they will be able to tell me how to fix what the TechKnow Space broke. read more

Brought my Galaxy S5 here to replace the screen assembly. Took twice as long as I was promised for the fix. One week later the entire screen assembly started to detach from the frame of the phone at the top. I emailed them and they said to bring it in whenever for a fix. Wasn't a big issue at first until the screen developed a large dead zone near the bottom which I assume is from the top coming apart severing the connections. I took it in and they said it's not under warranty and I'd have to pay again to have it fixed. After spending $240 the first time they were now offering me a "discounted" price of $200 to fix it again. Save your money and time and find another place to get your phone repaired. read more

worst experience of my life in trusting these people with my ipad! i just wanted the glass on the ipad replaced ! they put the glass on and broke my ipad all the data is gone can't use the ipad . It was waste of my time to trust these people with my ipad they keep promising to fix it and at the end they gave it back to me broken and told me to bring it to apple!!!!! very very unprofessional ! This is my second review on a completely different matter I should have followed my own advice and not come back after something similar happened 2 years earlier with an iPad. The owner of this place is a thief, & he knows he is but he's so good at talking sideways and driving customers out of their mind with rage... that you end up leaving out of pure frustration. ***If your product is made by Apple pay the money and go there at least they stand by their work. ***. It may seem more expensive but paying for multiple repairs will quickly exceed Apple's fees. If you do take your complaint to the owner you can expect to hear about his astigmatism, his cataracts, & how his tiny little store barely makes any money. He may even offer to show you his financials. You will be asked to pay at least half more than what you originally paid for the faulty repair as he will ask the tech who fixed your phone to ask if they did it right!!!?? He then will bait them with potential causes that exempt them from honoring any warranty...invisible bends in the frame...you must have dropped it etc. I took my iPhone 6 there to have the screen replaced and the next day when I pressed the home button it cracked beneath the home button straight down to frame edge. My phone was not dropped and it is in a very good case 24/7. It is a very weird place for the screen to have broken. I contacted him 2 days later as I was out of town and let the owner know. He sounded so pleasant and said to come in and he would take care of me.....WITH ANOTHER CHARGE!!!!! My advice should you choose to have your phone repaired by these idiots would be to carefully press the screen on all four corners and around the home button before leaving the store. The glass should not feel like it is floating or flexing!!! My home button felt a little bit weird I should've trusted my instincts Even more frustrating I had to listen to him tell me that where my phone was cracked it wouldn't get worse!?? (because we all know cracked glass is so very strong!?). Try challenging him and suddenly he's talking about structural engineers and whatever other hooey he can pull out of his ass. Stay away!!!!! Terrible Service. I took my phone in to fix the glass and it came back not being able to make calls. I would take it anywhere else!!

I was just charged $40 plus HST to tell me that my device is not repairable. When I went in I was not told that if the device was not repairable, that I would be charged money for the diagnostic. I think that there should be some upfront work to let people know that if the device that they are quoted on at the start, cannot be repaired, that they will still have to pay. read more

Absolutely awful. Replaced iPhone screen and four days later it cracked. Went back to the store and they wanted another $89. To fix a job they botched and charged $139. Plus tax initially. Even before the screen cracked it had a weird reflection and the touch had dead spots. You get what you pay for. read more
