I came in with two laptops: one that wouldn't update its operating system and on which I'd messed up the screen with some oily eyeglass cleaner; the other I couldn't start at all bc the keyboard didn't work, plus - just a small thing - none of my passwords were current. And he allowed me to stay, use his power cords on my laptops while downloading the needed software updates in his shop. This was invaluable. This is from an e-mail replying to a message noting that a recently-replaced iPad screen had cracked: Our warranty clearly states that we do not cover the effects of gravity, stupidity, and water. It is a litany that is recited at the presentation of each and every products we repair. We would be pleased to examine your iPad. As for coverage under our warranty program, that is another matter indeed. I would be pleased to examine your iPad. We have the tech to clearly see if force as been applied to an area by polarized light. We use that when we work with law enforcement. It is quite revealing. So my phone suffered a casualty today...to the tune of a toddler throwing it on the ground, resulting in a completely shattered glass screen. I had to get this thing repaired asap. I thought most of the places were downtown, but I found this life-saving place on yelp. I have an iPhone5, that works, except for the above-mentioned broken screen. I came in around 6pm (an hour before closing) with said emergency. It's my only phone number, and main means of telling time, since I don't often wear a watch. They fixed it within the hour, with a few minutes to spare. The total was $129~ and some change. (They were offering a 5% discount with a donation of a non-perishable food item, but I think that's for the holiday season). They were quick and professional, and I have my phone back again. Seconds after handing it over to Michael, we heard "Amateurs!" from the back room. In L.A. they forgot to replace some screws and they messed up the antenna. My tech repair situation was about a month ago. Each morning when I log in for work, I must use an authenticator app that is on my phone. On this particular morning, my phone was completely drained and was not charging. I knew I need a new battery and I needed it fast. My first option was a little tech repair place (I Fix 4 Less) right around the corner from me. Unfortunately, there was sidewalk repairs happening right in front of the store. Needless to say, he was closed for the day. I then went to Clickon Solutions on O'Connor Drive, which markets itself as an Apple Premium Service Provider. I took my phone in and the young man at the front desk said they could replace the battery and it would be ready by the end of that day or the next day. Cost would be $65 plus tax. When I explained that I needed it asap, he wandered to the back where I assume he was speaking to the actual repair person. After about 5 mins, the guy comes back and says that for an extra $55, they can put a rush on the repair and do a "diagnostic". When I asked when it would be ready if it was a rush job, he replied, "End of day today". I then asked him what the $55 was paying for if the timeline was going to be virtually the same as the originally quoted non-rush job. He just stared at me...no reaction at all. I decided that I would not be leaving my phone with this "premium service provider". Quite a few years ago, I had my screen replaced on my very first iphone by a mom and pop shop on the Danforth. I was very pleased with their services and their prices at that time. But I really didn't want to go there because the Danforth is usually choked with cars and parking is almost impossible. I should have made them my first choice. The name of the company is iRepair at 1517 Danforth Ave. I thought they were a mom and pop store but it seems there are several locations in Toronto and Vancouver. But this little store really does have a mom and pop atmosphere. When I got there it was just the lady (gosh I wish I could remember names better, lets call her Wilma). When I explained the situation, Wilma advised that her husband (let's call him Fred) is the one who does the repairs and he was not currently in. As she didn't know when Fred would be back and without any discussion with me, Wilma began looking for a loaner phone for me...which blew my mind. We tried several different phones but couldn't get one set up properly. While Wilma and I were attempting to find a working loaner, Fred comes back. Wilma explained my situation to Fred and he took my phone into the back room and had it up and working within 10 mins. Mind blown....again. Cost was $60...no rush surcharge. My screen saver was pretty scratched up so I asked if they sold ones that would fit my phone. Fred grabs my phone, takes it to the back again, puts on a new screen saver, brings it back to me and says, "No charge". I had no idea my mind could be blown three times in one morning. These two people were wonderful, the service was excellent, and the price was extremely fair. I would highly recommend this location of iRepair without hesitation. read more

Michael and his associate were very nice and helpful. They made sure that everything was done before any repairs were made- incase there was no need for it AND I love that they explained there was no cost to figure out what the problem was, because it could have been a number of things. They kept my water damaged Macbook Pro for almost 3 months and weren't able to fix it. They claimed weekly when I called that they were 'almost finished' or 'waiting for a part'. This waiting game went on for 3 months until they finally admitted they couldn't fix it. I took it to a different repair shop and they fixed it within a month. The other repair shop noted the sharpie marks and hot glue that was left on the inside of my Macbook. So not only did they fail to fix my Macbook AND waste my time, they also caused additional damage to my computer. Do NOT come here if you have anything more complicated than a broken Iphone screen. They obviously can't handle anything more complicated than that. read more

Went to get an iPhone screen replaced. One of those places where a smug arrogant attitude is more important than revenue. Where customers should feel privileged they are bein acknowleded. When a customer asks a question, the auto regurgitated response is "you tell me," three times. The best part, the price quoted was higher than the actual Apple store. I am also a small business owner and am sympathetic to difficult customers, I deal with it all the time. However, this unprovoked attitude was quite unbelievable and I just walked out. I took advantage of their monthly special to replace my iPhone battery. I had the battery replaced by Apple 6 months ago but the same thing happened again. The team here said it was one of two problems, the first being the battery. For less money than I paid Apple (even without the discount) they had my phone up and running again. Not only that, the 6 month warranty blows Apple's 90 day warranty out of the water. The cost to fix the phone if the new battery didn't resolve the problem would have also been cheaper than if I took it to Apple. When I got my phone back, it was cleaned and my cracked screen protector was also replaced, on the house. You couldn't ask for better service and the entire team are professionals, trustworthy and totally cool. All of my Apple products are coming here from now on when they fail me. read more

The owner knows his stuff and stands behind his work. We've had an iPad 2 repaired here that had been dropped on the corner, smashing the glass. It's a very difficult repair to do, but he repaired it within the time--less than 2 hours--promised and when the repair didn't take, he had no issues redoing it. CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST After reading Yelp reviews, I approached iRepair Danforth expecting to meet a wizard. Nyasha was indeed that wizard! My 2013 Macbook Air keyboard suffered from intermittent failures of the numbers row. A previous visit to my authorized Mac dealer included a compressed air blast and a PRAM restart without effect and then a quote of $400 with taxes to replace the keyboard. Another non-Apple repair shop quoted $300 with taxes. Nyasha quoted just under $200 with taxes should a replacement board be required. Nyasha, my wizard, brought out his Apple screwdrivers and on the counter right before me, spent 5 minutes taking the back off my computer, lifting out a panel and unplugging, cleaning and replugging two cables and put the machine back together. We tried it and the problems were resolved. He told me to go forth and if the repair held up, to write a nice review and there would be no charge. I told Nyasha that having read the reviews I was prepared for his overly generous behaviour. I warned him not to resist. I asserted that I would immediately write a review about his exceptional service, and should the fix indeed be temporary, that I would return to have him replace the keyboard for $200 and write another review. Also, I implored him to accept $25 for his brief countertop fix. As a management consultant, I'm on the lookout for exceptional customer service. Nyasha at Danforth iRepair is one of the finest examples of that service I've experienced in quite a while. read more

My poor phone was thrown through a glass pane last weekend. The screen and backplate were both pretty messed up. First time in, the wouldn't take my glitching phone. The advice they gave me was to go home, back it up, run a restore and see if that fixed it for free. If that didn't work, they said they would replace the screen for a reasonable price. If the problem was the motherboard, they said they would put back my screen, not charge me, and send me off to the apple store to beg for a swap of a refurbished phone.
