I had an iPhone mishap; it took a spin in the laundry in my husbands pants pocket, only to be discovered before it went through the dryer. the phone was dead from what I could tell, and didn't dare turn it on (rule #1 if your phone gets wet!) I took the phone to the apple store's genius bar, only to be told I would have to pay $457 (taxes incl.) to replace it (an iPhone 6), citing that it probably wouldn't work again. They didn't even bother to take a look at it and assess the damage. Luckily I decided to wait it out and search for more answers, and when I returned home the phone had turned itself on, but would not let me turn it off again --- a glimmer of hope. I began recklessly searching the internet for the solution on how to dry it out properly and keep it working, which led me to stumble across the website for iRepair. I called the shop on danforth and was advised to get it into them as soon as possible so they could start drying the phone out properly and assessing any damage. A few hours later I brought the phone into the shop just prior to closing. Michael offered a free loaner phone while he took to drying mine out. He ended up staying 2 hours past closing that night to get my phone dried out. I received a joyous call the next morning with the great news that the phone was restored and functioning perfectly - thank goodness! And, to think that only the day before it had been deemed useless by apple's 'geniuses.' Pricing was fair; $80 plus tax to dry out phone and fix any issues (additional cost if replacement parts required, thankfully not in my case!) In my case, this was a savings of almost $350 based on the 'repair quote' (aka new refurbished phone) from apple. And the bonus of not having any of the photos and data lost from the phone! Michael was super friendly, approachable and reasonable. I felt like he was a good friend. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone with any apple repair concerns. Possibly the most pleasant and satisfying 'shopping' experience I've ever had! OK, so that might be overstating it a tad but seriously, I am made up. This chap is super friendly, really QUICK, and no nasty 'extras' when I came to pay. In fact, it gets better.... It started off with some sensible and free advice - don't park on my side of the street - it was close to 4 when I rang (tow away time!) but he really notched it up when I came back 40 minutes later. First of course, my daughters phone was working perfectly - she has iPhone 4S and had got the 'blue lines of death', symptom of a failed digitizer, from dropping the phone one too many times. So, tick box number one, very important, I went there to get a phone repaired and what I got was... my phone repaired... check! Out of the blue, he asked what colour my daughter preferred and threw in a protective case to give the phone a bit more of a chance the next time she drops it - bingo, purple case fitted - she's chuffed! Next up, I ask if he knows where I might be able to buy a regular computer power cord for a plasma screen I just inherited - he reaches under the desk and says 'like this one?' KAPOW! Another free gift! As you can tell from my tone, I have walked out of this store a very happy camper, so I'm writing this to tell everyone else about it. If I ever have any electronic repairs again (just waiting fro my son to trash his phone now...!) then I will definitely be going back here. Last February, just after I got home from a stint in hospital, I went to iRepair on Danforth (just around the corner from my home) to pick up a new MagSafe charger for my 2013 MacBook Pro. So much easier, especially when recovering from major surgery, than going to the Apple store - the staff were terrific and my purchase was done quickly. Key point is that the iRepair warranty is six months, which seemed fine to me. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, my charger was working perfectly in the morning, but not in the afternoon. It took me a couple of weeks to get my act together (and was suffering with an MS Surface through this horrible period) and get to iRepair to see if the issue was the charger or, god forbid, my MacBook. Yesterday, I went in, enjoyed meeting the store owner and he tested the charger, which turned out to be the problem. Instead of charging me $100 for a new charger, he exchanged the old non-working one for a brand new one, free of charge, given that I was only a couple of weeks outside the warranty period. I was totally blown away - he didn't have to do that for me at all. He also told me that the retina coating screen issues I've had for years are covered under Apple's warranty! I'm consistently delighted with the service at iRepair on Danforth and cannot recommend it highly enough - go, get your stuff fixed! read more

Major crisis when my daughter (age ten) accidentally dropped, dinged and cracked the glass on her iPad (which she saved for and purchased on her own). Mike the owner, after hearing the details, graciously and generously lowered the cost of repair. Prior to servicing the device, it was explained that it may not be a quick or easy fix due to the severity of the fall/ drop. In other words, it was potentially risky to proceed with the repair. Suffice to say, my daughter said yes, held her breath and crossed her fingers. Two hours later, on a busy Saturday, we were called to pick-up the repaired device. All of the staff -- particularly the skilled/ gifted technician -- deserve praise for their professionalism and dedication. While I was there, another customer mentioned previously having a device repaired at another iRepair location, saying the service and repair at iRepair Danforth was far superior. I'm not surprised. This is a gem of a shop -- the emerg room for our devices at a time in history when our gadgets seem almost as essential as an appendage! When customers leave the premises happily holding their revived devices, Mike bids them farewell saying (I'm paraphrasing), "hope to NOT see you a again" .Well, he and his staff deserve to be seen again and again knowing any technical crisis will be left in their (very) good hands.. read more

Long overdue review. Visited a couple of months ago with an ipad that wouldn't charge. Owner (Michael) takes it to the back, returns within 5 mins saying he fixed some of the bent pins in the charge port but couldn't charge me for that. Was surprised/impressed, as other places could have easily claimed different reasons to charge someone like me who's not tech savvy any (reasonable) fee. I didn't have cash and felt bad he wouldn't accept payment and wanting to reward his honesty, I thought why don't I fix my cracked iphone screen so I could pay with my debit/credit card. Again he returns from his lab in the back with the screen repaired saying it was not the actual screen that was cracked but the cover (didn't fully understand what was cracked but the screen had cracks) and AGAIN DID NOT WANT TO CHARGE saying he replaced the cover that didn't cost much and asked I drop by with a coffee next time I'm in the area! Am beyond impressed with this business owner who runs his business based on honesty and true/rare values hard to find these days. Hope the 6 pack Pauliner (amazing beer fyi to all) dropped off days later was enjoyed and promise this is our go to repair place for any of our apple products in the future FOR A FEE! Michael is a real gem. His shop is closed due to the health measures Ontario/Canada is taking, so when I e-mailed him for help I was expecting not to hear back for a while. I smashed my phone screen day one of my quarantine. I had just returned from overseas so was truly quarantined no way to leave the house, and my only method of social interaction was just compromised. I got a response immediately and even though his shop was closed he was very sympathetic and worked out a time he would be at his shop for my phone to be safely delivered to him by a third party. Through a friend with a car, gloves, mailboxes, and sterilization, Michael worked out how to get my phone fixed all within an hour and I never left my home. I recieved my phone back in perfect working order, packaged and sterilized and I'm so so grateful. I know he's trying to work out how to keep his business running while still observing safety measures. If you find yourself in a similar situation, he's very approachable and on board to problem solve with you. I felt very looked after and will always recommend this place from now on. Ah! What can I say? I have created a Yelp account for the sole purpose of telling the world how awesome these guys are! My phone went night-swimming in Muskoka on a Monday night. Of course I put it in rice, and can't get into an Apple Store until Thursday afternoon. Apple will replace my phone for a small deductible but it is showing no signs of life and I have not backed up all the photos (2 lessons here - get Protection Plan on your Mac devices and back up your stuff regularly!). I call these guys cause of excellent service from Michael last year with my previous phone. He says hurry in, don't put it in rice, don't plug it in - I've done all of these things... Overnight, like magical phone-fairies, they fix my iPhone good-as-new and help me back up all my pics and data to my computer. Totally saved the day, my summer memories, and as a small business owner - got me back on track. I can't thank them enough or recommend them enough! Go see them! I don't usually write reviews however I feel the need to share how pleased I was with the service at I-Repair on Danforth. Michael, who is the owner, was great to deal with, good guy and very fair. The store location is incorrect on the main I-Repair website so when I called to confirm the address he promptly apologized for the inconvenience and even offered to stay on the phone with me until I found the store. That wasn't necessary but the offer was appreciated. When I arrived I was instantly greeted and felt very comfortable in the store. I have an iPhone 5S which I had just hours before dropped and smashed the screen. Within a mere 45 minutes my phone was like new again! Not only did he put a new screen on the phone but also took the time to go around and reshape the metal band around the sides on the phone as I had dropped it numerous times before and it looked pretty beaten up. It's not often a business tells you, "it will be done in 45 minutes" and it actually is! To the minute. I was very impressed with the service and Michael himself. Great shop! I always took extra good care of my iPhone 5s, which is why I was devastated when an accident caused it to become smashed and bent in ways I could only imagine were possible (not to mention leaving me with a few bruises and cuts myself). I thought all was lost until my alarm went off and I heard texts being received by my nearly pulverized phone. I did a quick Google search and found that this shop was the closest to me, so I went first thing next day. The man behind the counter was very nice, and expressed nothing less than shock and awe at the level of destruction inflicted on my poor phone. But luckily the damage was all in areas that left nothing unfixable. "How long will it take?" I asked. He responded, "Normally an hour, but give us two for this one." I came back in 2 hours and my iPhone was looking like brand new, and it cost less than Apple would have charged me just to get the replacement parts. I took my son's macbook air in because of a water spill (stuff happens right?). Michael and gang fixed it up with a new logic board and SSD (whoever said "water is life" was not a robot) and sent me on my way. Exactly three days later my son came to me with his laptop and to my horror showed me that the screen was messed up. A perfect quarter of it was full of pretty colours like a test screen while the rest was fine. Back to Irepair I went where they told me that it had nothing to do with the initial water damage but rather was due to some kind of physical knock or some such atrocity. My teenage son denied it (of course) but what could I do -I'd already sunk half the cost of a new laptop already into it so I gave the go ahead to order a new screen. Michael felt so bad for me that he fixed it at cost. The first screen he ordered had a dead pixel so we had to wait a few more days to get it but Michael came in on his day off to fix it. Long story short, he's a good guy and I'd definitely recommend his shop to anyone with a mac. read more

Even if you barely know anything about computers or macs like me, it's good to know they've got your back and will go above and beyond to help you. My macbook crashed via grey screen and I didn't know what happened. I was confused and uncertain if when I would be back online and if I could recover any of the data for the upcoming work week. Coming into the store, Michael was very open and warm and gave me an instant diagnostic on the spot - I had to get a harddrive replacement. Unlike some other repair stores, Michael and Alex kept me updated via phone throughout the process, giving me rough time estimates and reasons why. Prices were excellent. Customer service was phenomenal compared to most businesses in general I've experienced - they even took the initiative to upgrade and update all the software I had (and didn't have), as well as travel to get the hardware that was needed. Huge thanks to Michael at this iRepair location! My MacBook Pro was seriously infected with bad stuff over the weekend. I googled computer repair in my neighbourhood, found iRepair, saw the good reviews and called. Alex was wonderful over the phone and told me Michael was best person to look at my computer. Next day Michael called and I dropped off my computer to him. First thing he said was I had a great computer with lots of power and lots of memory and it should last me a long, long, long time. He then informed me that repairs would be about 1-1/2 hours so I decided to grab a tea across the street and wait. When I returned he told me the cleanup process was still ongoing (over 43 minutes by then) because there were a number of bad items on my computer but all would be perfect soon. I asked him to have a quick look at my iPhone too and he did a quick cleanup at no charge. Total cost: $60.00! I could not be happier. My ipod classic decided to spend the night outside in the rain recently. After letting it sit in some rice for 24 hours I was able to turn it on, but it was unable to receive any charge. I looked up ipod repairs. IRepair was one of the first search results. I emailed the owner through Yelp and he got back to me very quickly. He informed me that he could help if I got it to him as soon as I could. This was on a Sunday, brought it in on Monday and they got back to me Wednesday to let me know that they had fixed the water damage that occurred to my ipod. I was beyond happy with the news. Their service is incredible, their employees (or the owner and one employee I dealt with) were great, and their prices were very fair. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. This iRepair is amazing, Mike is the most kind and helpful man I've ever delt with. He went out of his way to help me fix my laptop, TWICE. When my initial laptop was going to cost more to fix than it was worth, I decided to buy the loaner laptop on a 6 month warranty. One day around 4 months after I purchased it, it stopped working and I brought it in to be fixed. Once I expressed how quickly I needed it fixed, Mike made sure I was top priority and he fixed my laptop within 3 days. It turns out it had extensive water damage that and he did not charge me after changing the entire logic board, he still honoured the 6 month warranty. He went above and beyond to call me while it was being fixed to ensure me it would be ready by a certain day as I needed it for work, etc. I could not recommend this place enough, the owner Mike has the most amazing customer service care and he sincerely cares about his clients. 10/10 read more

I was having a play date at my house with 5 kids running around. My iPhone fell to the floor and appeared to have "died". Since this was my means for communicating pick up times with other parents, I was in a panic. My husband knew exactly who to go to for help! He drove over to iRepair on The Danforth and explained the phone situation. They opened up the phone and identified that a wire had come loose as a result of the fall. They put it back in place and handed the phone back to my husband. He asked: " How much do I owe you?" To his surprise came the response: "Nothing." Most businesses would make up some fake story about the issue and at a minimum, charge you an inspection fee. The people at iRepair are honest business people who we have gone to before and will continue to go to in the future. I highly recommend them. I have had a lot of interactions with computer repair shops, but I have never had a place do what these guys do. They have ways of fixing things that nobody else knows, it seems, and they are super nice and accommodating. Michael is a super friendly guy (weird for a computer geek, I know, but hey, that's reality), and everyone that works there makes it a great experience. I have had two iPhones, an iPad, and a Macbook pro fixed and I am happy to say all of them are healthy still. they also have products for sale there, and they are amazing, with great prices. In fact, many of the small repairs that others charge and arm and a leg for are done for free here. I cannot say enough about this place - simply the best repair shop in Toronto by far. They only deal in Mac products, but they also have great handbags for computers, and the best Trump toilet paper!!!!! 10/10, A +++ read more

Can't say enough about these guys. My white iphone 5 fell from 40 feet onto a boulder and then ricocheted 15 feet into a forest. I swore it was a goner. The entire screen was a shattered mess, the glass having turned to dust in some places. But though it appeared to be a goner and I was already thinking about the cost of a new phone, I heard a text come in so I knew it was still working. I brought it into iRepair on Danforth right after they opened on Saturday. They guys there were equally blown away by the destruction, but within an hour I had what appeared to be a brand new phone. Moreover, as they didn't have a white replacement glass screen in stock and I needed the phone ASAP, they provided a black screen, with the promise of updating it to a white screen two days later, free of charge. The is a new iRepair for the Eastenders like me!!! Travelling to Yonge and Eg and College and Bathurst is no longer necessary, although those dudes know their stuff. My iPhone 4 was run over by my wife and was flat and cracked so badly I almost cried. It turned on, That was all the iRepair guy needed to know. 90 minutes later it was good as new....hell even got a loaner so I did not miss anything. Really impressed a bit over $100 and bam, I was outta there. Very professional, guy talked me back from the ledge... They just opened so the place is not as spiffy like the other two places. But I was told come back when you break it again and you will see fresh paint and a kick ass sound system and a leather couch to wait. Nice job guys!!!! Had a problem with my Macbook, asked for recommendations on Facebook. Got lots of suggestions, but the only place that had multiple mentions was iRepair Danforth, from several very pleased customers. So even though it was across town, I took it there, as I wanted to have someone I could fully trust work on it. It was something I probably could have done myself, but the online instructions were such that I could see there was room for error that might be difficult to undo. And now I'm really glad I did because the owner not only fixed it while I waited, he explained that he had a way of doing it that bypassed the potential problems I saw, and that he had learned to not do it the way most videos show, and had fewer subsequent problems as a result.
