A terrific business. I'm a satisfied customer - & I had a hard-to-address problem that left my phone non-functional for over two months.
My Microsoft Lumia 1520 smartphone's battery died. Not customer-replaceable, & Msft has such low market-share, no-one stocks the battery. The supply chain is kaput. Msft itself no longer services the phone (hah! Apple will still service my old iPhone 4 - though it isn't worth doing so, I know. Microsoft: if you won't support your own products, what makes you think former customers - or anyone who listens to them - will buy your future products?).
But iRepair really tried. They confirmed the battery was the problem (at no charge). They tried several suppliers to obtain the battery. When they struck out, they returned the phone & assured me they would be willing to install a replacement battery if I could find one. I did, through Amazon, in China (iRepair don't do this as they can't obtain supply quickly & reliably enough to assure customer satisfaction, which seems fair to me). The battery cost me $50 & took about 6 weeks to arrive. Surprisingly not an OEM look-alike replacement but appears to be Nokia-branded original equipment. Cool!
I brought iRepair the phone & battery; they performed the installation within 30 minutes - faster than promised - at very reasonable cost ($30). And while they cannot of course guarantee the battery, they'll stand behind their work.
Note that I had tried three competing businesses in Toronto through May & June, & found them all to be unprofessional, unreliable & a total waste of my time. They'd agree to call back, and wouldn't. They'd assure me they could do the work & invite me to drive in, then say they couldn't once I'd driven across town to see them. They'd promise one price on the phone & another in person. Most appear to have absentee owners who never seem to show up. I called one competitor repeatedly for weeks looking for the owner, who never seemed to be there, appears unreachable & unconcerned about the way his employees operate his business.
Bottom line: Lindsay & Phil (the owners of iRepair, I believe) operate a very well-run business. They hire well (I'm a headhunter - I notice this): the three employees I met at the College St. location are courteous, careful not to commit to more than they can deliver, thoroughly business-like (they return calls!), and obviously committed to customer satisfaction. They're good at handling distraught customers (I witnessed a couple while there). They appear to know their stuff, they charge very reasonable prices, and they're efficient at repairs, for a huge range of electronic equipment.
iRepair.com rocks! They've earned my trust & they deserve yours. Look no further for the best eRepair service in Toronto! read more
