I spilled a drink on my laptop (cover closed, fortunately) but it still caused some problems. I took my laptop to TechCare, and Ray diagnosed the problem in about an hour. Came to get my iPhone screen fixed. They didn't have an original, so they order it and we're able to fix it the next day. Pricing was reasonable. I've had my phone fixed at a mall kiosk and it was slightly cheaper for an after market screen which reduced the color and overall screen display. Went in for cracked glass on my 6s phone. Something went wrong when they took the phone apart. It was inconvenient, but I will say the Reza went out of his way to make it right. Sometimes things don't go as planned, but as long as the effort if made to satisfy the customer and they follow thru and make it happen. My water bottle broke open in my gym bag, which also acted like my purse. Unfortunately water got into my iPhone of all things - leaving my change of clothes completely dry. After ricing it (yes, I turned "rice" into a verb...) for a few days and turned off, I decided the battery was shot. I gauged this because the phone still turned on, screen untouched by water, but the battery died extremely quick. Anyhow, I remembered seeing a CPR (Cell Phone Repair) off Leigh and Camden and headed that way. I entered the store and it should have been a red flag when the couple in front of me were disappointed and left. The guy said it was going to cost more than $50 to get a new battery and take several days and didn't know this or that. The customer service was HIGHLY lacking. A lot of one-worded answers, and unfriendly at that. One Saturday I went strolling down Campbell Ave and noticed this closet-sized store providing services in all things tech. I walked in out of curiosity not expecting the great price for a new battery (at least $20 cheaper than CPR) and a very friendly guy; AND when I went back to get it the whole thing done, it took 15 minutes! So this is my experience with the owner here when I first stopped by a few days ago. I had called earlier in the week to ask for an estimate to repair my phone's cracked screen and he gave me a price. I asked that if I were to procure the parts, would it be cheaper, and he said yes and gave me a lower price, so I said "ok, I'll order the part and come by when it gets here." He said "that's fine, it should take about 1-2 hours for the repair. I finally get the part and stop by his shop and I told him what I wanted, same as when I called and he started acting like he never said that and I said "well maybe someone else answered?"He said "No, I'm the only one that picks up the phone." I said I would show him that I did indeed call this place on my call log, and once he noticed I was going to show him, he had a change of tune and acted like he remembered and started telling me something about how now he remembers and that for my specific phone he would have to look up how to repair it and he couldn't do it until 3-4 days later. So at this point I'm a little ticked off that he's being a little sketchy and insinuating that I was lying about the initial call I had made. While I was here, a lady stopped in to say that her phone that he had repaired a few days earlier was having issues and just his reaction to that scared me off too. He even told her that maybe it was because he hadn't used an OEM screen, and that this time he would use a genuine screen this time? Whaaaat? So he admits to using inferior parts?
