Interesting story about my journey with Tech1 Auto. I recently went in for a periodic oil change; first time with Tech1 Auto. Asked them to check on the road noise that I've been hearing lately; thought it was the tires. They stated it was from my rear wheel bearings; surprise. Had to think about it a bit, since a lot of auto repair shops try to upsell work that aren't necessary. My car was 90,000 miles so it made sense the bearings would be going bad. Had them replace the wheel bearings and the road noise disappeared. Great work and fair pricing! Tech1 Automotive is my go to auto shop from now on. read more

I am basing this review on Tech 1 not honoring an appointment that I took off work for and lost money from because of it. After purchasing a Groupon and then finding out their times for oil changes are extremely limited , I attempted reshuffling my work schedule to no avail and finally just took two hours off of work to make it to Tech 1 by 2pm, the latest they state that they will perform an oil change. This appointment was made several days in advance. When I got there, I was told that a truck that was being serviced was blocking the bay and that they couldn't perform my oil change until at least 2 hours later! I purchased a Groupon for a synthetic oil change and nowhere in the fine print was there any indication that they only perform oil changes in the morning if it is Friday, that they are closed on weekends, and that they prefer to not do any oil changes at all unless it is in the morning. How is a working person supposed to accomodate this ridiculous schedule? This should have been stated in the fine print but was not! I'm not sure exactly how it works with Groupon and merchants, but I would think that they could request Groupon alert customers that they are basically paying a good deal of money for an extremely limited schedule. When I explained to Anita that I had taken off work early and was already losing more money taking off work than if I had just bought a full price oilchange elsewhere and worked a full day, now I was basically being told that I would have to take another day off of work! Furthermore, I was not offered a future oil change that would fit my schedule...a future discount...nothing. I have disputed Groupon for the charges and through my credit card and should be reimbursed since I paid for and scheduled a service that I did not get, but I am surprised by the lack of customer service on the part of Tech 1 Auto Service. I see a lot of great ratiings when it comes to auto service, but Tech 1 fell way short in this situation. read more

Mike (Johns main mechanic) has taken over Tech 1 Auto in Boca Raton. I brought my 1995 Honda Accord to have a new timing belt and some engine mounts installed. He did an incredible job at a fair price. My car now runs amazing! If you need work on your car or truck, Tech 1 specializes in Engine repair, A/C repair (new freon), Brake service, Electrical systems, Transmission, Suspension, Exhaust systems. Go see Mike for a free diagnosis and he will tell you exactly what your issue is. They are family owned and operated. I can not recommend them enough! I have been their customer for years but will not go back. Recently I went in for an oil change and the mechanic found a seized brake caliper. John, the owner, said "go home" and he would call me when he found out what the parts cost. When his secretary did call, it was around $1300. This included new pads and rotor turning on both front wheels. He had added in tire replacement, which we'd never discussed either. I looked at the tires again and they would pass inspection if stupid Florida hadn't done away with car inspection. Then there was the belt (fan/water) and I eyeballed it and it didn't seem at all so worn as to need immediate replacement. Then there were new spark plugs, which he had mentioned, but weren't due for another 3,000 miles, according to manufacturer. For a 11 year old 2nd car with 117,000 miles, that is rarely driven over 40 and only 3,000 miles a year, if that, all of which I had told him, this is really out of line. I had the caliper replaced by another mechanic for about $60 in parts and $100 in labor. When the wheels were off I looked at the pads and rotors and though there was certainly wear, there was no immediate need for replacement. The other mechanic agreed. read more

I would highly recommend Tech 1 automotive repair shop. I brought in my Audi A4 for problems that came up on my dash. Samantha that I spoke to at the front desk was so nice and friendly. This is by far the greatest auto repair I have ever used. Each time I have been their I am greeted with a smile.i love my car, 2007 Solara Convertible , Tech1 has always taken care of it. This time I thought I wasn't going to get it back. I slammed into the center medium damaging the front and rear wheels and underside of car. Bent the rod connecting front tires. This place is really awesome! They've serviced 2 cars of mine on multiple occasions and are always pleasant and fair with their pricing. They've replaced brakes and a battery on my Cadillac and air conditioning on my Traverse. Each time, my cars are serviced within a timely manner. Once, I was running late and the owner stayed late just to meet me. Things like this is why I prefer Tech 1 over my dealership.
