Warning: Do Not Trust This Repair Shop!…read more Yesterday, our 2009 Toyota Camry would not start and several warning lights were on. We brought the car in for inspection and repair. The shop told us that the alternator and fan belt needed to be replaced. They also said the battery was still at 65% and was fine (just needed charging or not replaced). We agreed to replace only the alternator and fan belt for now, and they charged us $1,400. Today we picked up the car -- and the warning lights were STILL on. We immediately drove it back and asked them to check it again. This time, they told us another part needed to be replaced and it would cost another $1,400. We decided not to move forward with more repairs at this time. Then they told us the battery was dead and had to jump-start the car for us to drive away -- even though yesterday they said the battery was fine. This whole experience feels dishonest and unprofessional. We paid $1,400 and the original problem was not even fixed. Now they are asking for another $1,400 and suddenly the battery is "dead." This is unacceptable. I would not recommend this repair shop.

He took a look at the tire, determined it could be repaired, and had someone begin the repair right away. $20 and 30 minutes later my tire had been removed and patched, and I was on my way! When I went back to address it, instead of taking responsibility, I was met with attitude and told there was nothing they could do because they "assumed." That's not what a professional diagnosis is supposed to be. If I'm paying that kind of money, I expect actual testing and accurate information--not guesswork. What made it worse was the way I was treated when I brought it up. The boss had a smart mouth and seemed completely uninterested in fixing the situation or even meeting me halfway. I understand mistakes can happen, but the lack of accountability and poor customer service is what really stands out here. Unlike all the horrible experiences we've had with our dealers, nothing but wonderful experiences with Eric's Wrench for all these years. I'd like to describe two events, one at our beginning and one very recent. About 15 years ago a young woman was almost in tears, her car had 6 things wrong for about $600 from her Toyota dealer. I sent her to Eric, 4 were perfectly fine, one didn't even exist and he fixed the "6th" for $45. For the next 15 years every thing has been great. Make an appointment and they starts on that time and almost always finish the time they estimated. We've never had to go back for anything that wasn't done right. My last visit was just routine, but after all these years, I asked if they could adjust my dashboard so I can see a compass and see the air pressure in all 4 tires. I took it out, saw the compass but not the tire pressure. One of the mechanics actually took me out in my car, explained that it is not possible to see both at the same time, but they set it up so that all I had to do was hit 1 button to get to the pressure and hit it back for my compass. I went to Jiffy Lube on Saturday for a simple oil change and tire rotation, in the process, they…read moreended up breaking off three studs from my back right tire and told me to go to Tire Kingdom to fix it. Tire Kingdom looked at it and said they don't want to touch it and there's nothing they can do to fix it as it's Jiffy Lube's responsibility. So now I'm sitting here with a car that is not operable and both shops don't know how to fix it, however, both said I should go to Japanese Auto Care to get it fixed. I came to Japanese Auto Care early Monday morning, fully expecting them to tell me to take it to a Mazda dealership or that they would be too busy to take me. To my pleasant surprise, that was not the case at all. Jimmy immediately said he would be able to get it taken care of and get me up and running same day. Jimmy called around to make sure that someone was able to provide the studs that were specific to my car, and kept me updated along the way. More importantly, while I sat there waiting for my car to be done (in a very clean and comfortable waiting room might I add), lots and lots of people filtered in and out, either picking up or dropping off, speaking to Jimmy as if they were family, considering they have been coming here for so long. Jimmy answered every single phone call that came through no matter how busy he was, and had such a kind and professional demeanor with each individual person he spoke to. Within a few hours I was finally headed home, thanks to Jimmy and team. They were able to do what other "popular" and corporate auto body shops couldn't. I know one thing that I have struggled with for the 11 years I've had my car, is finding a trustworthy, dependable mechanic, and I think I have finally found the one.

First off, the owner Pablo runs a great, clean and professional shop! Unlike many shops that will try and "churn" you and recommend things that may not really need to be done for another year or two, I have found that he will only recommend services based on what the Manufacturer of your vehicle recommends at that mileage, or years of existence! Unless, the service technicians (who all seem to be great), notice something that needs attention. This is an HONEST BUSINESS that will do the right thing!:-) I have been using them for the last couple of years to service my 2018 BMW X6 and my 2019 Audi A4. And, although it is never cheap when you are maintaining these German import cars, I feel that you get a great price and value at Autobahn Auto Center! Specifically due to the aforementioned verbiage in that they will not try and recommend anything that you do not need at the time of service. This is pretty BIG in my opinion! After all, most of us have experienced other shops try to "churn" additional services that may not need to be done until a later date in the future. Lastly, but certainly "not the least", is that the staff that you interact with (Pablo, Katie & Amanda) are ALWAYS GREAT!:-) They are all super nice & informative if you have questions.
