Today I went in for a return and figured it would be a quick in-and-out, but Maddy turned it into such a great experience. The store didn't have the wool socks I needed in the right size, and instead of just sending me on my way, she took the time to help me order it online right there in the store. She made sure I got the size I needed and walked me through everything. What really stood out was how genuinely kind and upbeat she was the whole time. Wanted to add a safety check for skis and boots going into new season. Filled out all paperwork, passed inspection and paid for both upfront. When I came to pickup nearly a week later, and past the date I was told they would be complete, there was an issue that the heel plate was worn down just over the allowable threshold. REI will not make adjustments or anything to skis/bindings. I was told I got a voicemail, but I never received a call. Pulled up my cell phone record on the spot. Worst of it all, they did not even do the wax. So my skis just sat at this location for a week, with my money, and then I picked them up and got my money back and nothing but wasted time.

I've been taking my sons to Lumberyard Baseball Academy for the past two years. I found them…read moreinitially looking for an idea for my sons 10th birthday party. He likes baseball but never played. The Lumberyard offers birthday party packages. We did one and all the kids had a fantastic time! This was a super easy and fun way to entertain 10 boys all between the ages of 8 and 12. After that, my son (the birthday boy) wanted to start playing baseball on a team. I had him do a couple other camps with different trainers- and then we did the Lumberyard's camps and clinics. These are the only one my son does now. I asked him to compare and he said "The Lumberyard is the best! You get a lot of personal attention at these. The other ones didn't make you feel that way." He also has told me many times that he learns the most from the coaches at Lumberyard. We do each one that comes up. As a mom, I knew my son was starting baseball later than the other kids on his teams. The camps, clinics and private lessons have helped my son become one of the strongest players on his teams. He's continually learning how to improve his skills, and he's around coaches at the Lumberyard that really care about the kids on and off the field. I highly recommend them to any parent who wants to help their son or daughter with softball or baseball. They are going to start more intermediate and advanced camps too this summer. We'll be there!
