Where should I start!?! This was the BEST experience I've ever had while getting my hair cut. I usually have a lot of anxiety when going to get my hair done but they made me feel at ease with the things I was asking, and the advice they were giving me on certain products I was using for my hair. Tyrel listened to my concerns with my hair and helped me work through what would be the best possible situation for my hair without having to just chop it all off. Tyrell asked lots of questions and we came to an agreement on the cut. I enjoyed their conversations and his attention to detail on my cut. I enjoy these two so much that I purposefully schedule my color and cuts separately just so I have an excuse to go more often (that sounds a little creepy, but hear me out). I work and study 10-14hrs/day, 7days/week, so often times these appointments are my only real break. I have very long hair and Tyrel is the first stylist I've had in years that I know will not cut more hair off than agreed upon. The amazingly relaxing shampoo/scalp massage and fun conversation are great bonuses. And yet, he's efficient enough that I'm perfectly cut and styled in under an hour, no wasted time. Carrie is all around great as well. She is refreshingly passionate about what she does and it shows in the final product. The color looks flawless and my hair does not look or feel damaged at all. All 3 of them were also dressed up in Hairy Potter robes and had magic wands. One of them cast a spell on me and I was levitating for about 2 minutes. I don't post this lightly, y'all... with all seriousness in the world this is without a doubt one of the best haircuts I've had in my life AND one of the best salon experiences. We just hung out like friends, the pros did what they do best, and I got to actually relax instead of playing defense. There was no high-pressure up-sell. There was no hint of degrading what products I use, or why I shouldn't color my own hair, or any of the negativity I've come to know and expect from the other hair pros. Nobody tried to talk me out of the cut I wanted and into some crazy project they've just been waiting to do. NONE OF THAT. You know what there was? A positive, relaxing, fun environment. We talked about our dogs, what's going on in the world, gave restaurant suggestions, and you know what else? I got a really great, not good but GREAT, haircut. I normally don't like or care much about getting my hair cut, in fact I avoid it. However, I would return to this dynamic duo with no hesitation and I hope they will still have time for me once their clientele explodes exponentially, which it will and it is so well deserved! I have been going to Carrie and Ty for my hair color and cut for over two years. They are by far the best I have ever had as color and cut stylists. When I found myself in a situation where I needed to make a change in hair stylists I asked the largest wholesale distributor in the Southwest of fine hair care products who they recommended. They said "we recommend Carrie Faires - she will always use products that will make your hair healthier - she will never put anything on your hair that will harm it". Well that's all I needed to hear as I have very long fine hair and I take very good care of it. It can be fried in the wrong hands. It was a natural next step to have Ty cut my hair and on every occasion he has cut my long layers perfectly where I experienced a rejuvenation and lifting with added body. Never ones to over sell treatments or products but they will always make superior recommendations when asked. Carrie even put a soft large roller permanent in my hair, which has both a base color and highlights, and I experienced a beautiful soft curl and added body. My hair has never broken or split after Carrie has touched my hair. I have received so many compliments on my color and cut that I have sent no less than 4-5 other people to them both as Ty's cut and blow outs are a show stopper. My boyfriend's hair has never looked so hipster and Ty really knew how to work with his face structure to maximize his look. I can't say enough nice things about the two of them. I personally like both of them and enjoy the fun and intellectual conversations when having my hair colored, cut and styled. Don't walk, run there as you will continue to use them again and again.
