Tony would never allow my frames to take a month and a half to get there. And if there was an issue, he would call right away. The office staff is unorganized, unprofessional, and need a course in sales. I get if they need to push a certain product. But if after listening to your sales pitch, I decide I want to stay with my Oakley lens, then just get on the phone and order them for me. Period. Instead, it's been 6 weeks and haven't heard back. We love going to Teagle Optometry. We have been coming now for some time now. They all are very nice there. I'm not usually a fan of dr offices but I feel comfortable and not anxious about going. The whole family goes and we've seen both Dr Mc Clenaghan and Dr Teagle Jr and they are both amazing. I would definitely recommend them. They tighten my glasses if the sides get loose. The front office is sweet and very helpful when it comes to suggestions , frames and any questions we may have. read more

I have been going to Teagle Optometry for years and feel bittersweet about this place. I feel like things have taken a turn lately and not sure whether I should continue going here or move on... Dr. McKlanaghan is pretty great though which is one reason I wouldn't want to leave! It seems that the past few times I have gone here, the price is ridiculous. My insurance covers everything for a yearly exam except $25 (carefully reviewed - I have great insurance!) and somehow I end up having to be responsible for a $60 fee each time. My friend goes here and he pays pretty close to nothing everytime he goes but we compared insurances and have same coverage. They claim that it is for contact fitting + eye test + other fees which I never even asked for in the first place. All I wanted was my yearly exam that is covered! This last time I went in strictly for new glasses (recently did my yearly exam but needed new glasses due to eye allergies from my contacts, and the fact that I keep getting made fun of by friends for my out-of-date glasses) and ended up spending the $60 for the usual charges that they shouldn't even be charging me + $200 more for the leftover fees from my glasses. So much money!! I have brought it up to them too and everytime they come back with different charges that add-up... but still just doesn't make sense. For the sake of not wanting to argue I leave it alone. However, on top of that, I was told I would get my glasses in 7-10 business days but now it is passed that timeframe and each time I call to check-in they say "they're not here yet" then I kindly ask for any sort of update for when they might be there and they say that they have no idea when they will arrive. I am just frustrated because I would love to keep coming here for the sake of going to the place I am familiar with, but with the amount of people referring me to LensCrafters is now making me wonder if they're onto something.......... glasses in a couple of hours instead of going on three weeks now with no silly fees.......... sounds great to me. read more

I was long overdue for an annual eye exam when I made this appointment so I was a little nervous. I mean, when you don't go to the dentist for a long time you end up with cavities. I didn't know what to expect! What is the eyeball equivalent?? I walked into the office and was immediately greeted. They asked that I complete some paperwork. It took me literally four minutes (I checked the clock) since they had most of my info from when I called to schedule my appointment. I did the routine scans and tests, sat for almost no time, and then saw the doctor (not one of the Teagles). He was quick but thorough. And explained a lot to me when I had more questions even though my eyes were totally fine. I was curious! Since I didn't need contacts or glasses, I was able to look at sunglasses to use my lens credit. They didn't have anything I liked for my face shape so they told me j could come back any time and check out new inventory. I'd still get to use my credit. My whole experience took half an hour. I have been going to Teagle for over five years and I will no longer be going back. I love the doctors but the staff is very unprofessional and rude. I had frames that I have not owned for a year that I purchased through them where a screw fell out. I took them in to be repaired and the front desk girl told me there was nothing they could do so I had to press her to order new screws. They never called to tell me they were in, I finally called and they were in. When I went in and waited for them to repair them, myself and my 10 year old daughter had to listen to the front girls talking about their night out and the men they were hooking up with. The staff has no class and seems to be more interested in their personal lives, this is not a way to run a business with the faces of your company. read more

I am very particular about my glasses and require that they provide crystal clear vision, without glare. Finding the right lenses and ensuring that my prescription is perfect is a challenge, but the staff at Teagle always make sure that I get exactly what I need. Dr. McClenaghen is methodical and patient, providing the perfect prescription. Megan spent time discussing all my lens options, and helped me choose Crizal Sapphire lenses, which I am very happy with. Edwin spent literally hours working with me, allowing me to try progressive lenses and bi-focals, adjusting my frames to ensure perfect alignment. Everyone at Teagle provided excellent service. I had the absolute worst experience today at Teagle Optometry. I went in for a regular eye exam for me and son. I have been going to Teagle Optometry for the eye exam with dilation for the past 10 years and it has always been $10 for copay with my insurance. However, when I went in today the girl at the front desk told me that they do not offer the exam with dilation because of COVID-19. She told me that my son and I would need to do a different exam that costs $39 for copay. Now I already thought that this was a bit strange because my son just had a couple of lasik eye surgery appointments at other offices in the past week, and they dilated his eyes with no problem using gloves and other safety measures. This was just the tip of the iceberg though, so I didn't fight back on this and just went with this other exam. During the exam, Dr. McClenaghan checked my eyesight and asked me to go a different room as he said my prescription had changed. He then brought some contact lenses out and told me to put them on. He asked if I could see better, which to be honest I couldn't tell any difference at all, but he insisted that these lenses were better for my vision to see further. The difference in the contact lenses he told me to try on was a -0.50 for my right eye only so I was skeptical of this. After my son and I finished our eye exams, I went to pay and the front desk girl told me that my total was $158. I was incredibly shocked at this price since I was clearly told that the new exam would be $39, so 39x2 for me and my son is... not $158. I immediately asked for the pricing breakdown as none of this made any sense to me. The girl then explained that it was $39+$10 each for the eye exam PLUS an additional $60 for a "contact lens fitting fee." What? I did not ask for contact lenses at all, I had only gone in for an eye exam, why was I suddenly being charged for contact lenses? I told the girl that nobody had ever explained to me that I would be charged for anything other than a normal eye exam. She then pointed to a paper and said that with my insurance, a contact lens fitting fee is $60 and that because I tried on the contact lenses that Dr. McClenaghan TOLD me to put on (his exact words were "put them on.") Mind you, the front desk girl was not nice at all while explaining anything. I felt sick to my stomach because it was obvious that I had been scammed. In the past 10 years of me going to Teagle Optometry, my eye exam was always $10 for copay and that came with a prescription for both contact lenses and glasses. I could not wrap my head around the fact that I was now being charged $109 for my prescription (excluding the cost of my son), when I was expecting it to be $10. I then started to think was it really necessary to change my prescription in one eye of -0.50 when I didn't notice a difference at all, or was this just for them to be able to charge my insurance company to cash in? Sounds like a scam to me. Unfortunately, the bad doesn't end here. I went to a different store to buy new frames as I was disgusted at the service I received at Teagle. When going to purchase my frames, the clerk there looked at my prescription and told me that I had been given "progressive" lenses and not "single vision" which meant that my lenses would cost at least $100 more. This was really the last straw for me as I SPECIFICALLY told Dr. McClenaghan that I wear separate reading glasses, so why would he give me a prescription for progressive/multifocal lenses. I was never asked if I wanted progressive lenses. I believe this was done on purpose as Teagle Optometry thought I would be purchasing my frames and lenses there, and that they could charge me even more for these special lenses. Overall, I will never be going back to Teagle Optometry and I do not recommend for anyone else to go there either. They do not explain anything to you and only care about taking your money. This was such a disappointing experience for me as I had been a loyal customer many years and it was sad to see how this business has made a turn for the worst. read more

I've been going to Teagle Optometry for a few years and I had no issues. Dr. Mclennegan (sorry if misspelled) is great. However just recently I had an issue with my order. I went for my appt end of Feb and ordered my contacts that day. I paid upfront for my exams and order. The next day I ordered my glasses which I was advised it would be ready in 7-10 business days. Well I waited past the 10 days and called the office, only to be notified the glasses would take 7-10 business days, so I didn't say anything & waited patiently. Well the following week I called again to follow up, only to be notified my glasses and contacts would be arriving later that week. however, the girl over the phone sounded panic- like they may have NOT placed my order, I could tell something was wrong. So finally almost 1 month after I ordered my glasses & contacts they were ready. When I picked up I was told I had to pay $50. Of course I asked for what & they said I needed to pay for my contacts- which I already did. I went back and forth and these girls didn't believe me that I paid & I was willing to go home to get my receipt. Finally a girl helped, looked at the records and confirmed I paid for everything. Yes they were apologetic, which I was fine with, but lack of communication between staff members is not good. Apparently the day I called to follow up on my order the girl on the phone wrote down I ordered contacts. (Which can only mean they weren't ordered in the first place). It's unfortunate because I did enjoy this place but lack of communication amongst staff and customers has now making me take my business elsewhere. read more

My family and I have been coming here for a few years now and the staff has always been helpful, professional and always eager to help me find the best frames for my face. WORST experience! Rudest sales representatives, bad customer service, doesn't call back to inform when glasses are ready, says it take 2 weeks for glasses to be ready but took them FIVE weeks and I had to keep on calling them for updates - this is even after informing them that my son is going thru an observation period from his ophthalmologist and we needed to go back for another check up with the new prescriptions. We had to reschedule his check up because his glasses were not ready in time and it's not easy to get another slot for appt with this specialist in LA. They claimed the frame broke so they needed to replace it and did not inform me at all until I had to keep asking what's going on. At the end of 5 weeks, son tried his glasses on, with missing features (like transitions) which my insurance covered. I was told to just go back and have the glasses replaced. Now, this is after ALL the hell I've been thru with their rude representative who insists on going against my son's specialist's specs. I'm never going back even if they need to do a back job on my son's glasses! Btw, we are old clients and have been patient with them but after this, NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

My husband has been a Teagle customer since 2014. He recently went in for new glasses. Dr. McClenaghan performed a thorough eye exam and took the time to ensure that the prescription was perfect. Meagan provided excellent customer service. My husband was looking for a specific frame and Meagan spent more than an hour trying to find the frame he wanted. Ultimately the frame was discontinued, so he kept his existing frame. Ed, the eyeglass technician, refurbished my husband's frames and installed new Crizal Sapphire lenses. When my husband picked up his glasses, Ed adjusted the frame to ensure a perfect fit. Great service! read more

Walked in there with my husband to check out what kinds of frames they had because I was in the process of shopping around for new glasses. As soon as I walked though the door, the sales woman who was about 3 feet away from me, looked right into my eyes and WALKED AWAY! No "Hi" or "Welcome" or "Can I help you?" I think she saw that we were wearing clothes bought at Wal-mart and the fact that I wasn't sporting a Louis Vuitton bag might have disappointed her. Well, I proceeded to look around the store for a few more minutes. There were four people sitting behind the counter, no one else in the store, and never approached me until I approached them asking for options. The lady helping me seemed aloof and frankly didn't seem like she wanted to help me or be there at all. I ordered my glasses and NEVER got a call or voicemail saying they were in. I've been going to Dr. Teagle for years, as has my entire Family. Dr. Teagle is great, and his staff used to be very sweet & caring & couldn't do enough for you. The last few times I have been in there their staff has not been great especially this one rude woman. Today, after being on the phone with one of his staff members, who was the same rude argumentative woman who's name is Tina, I'm done! She wouldn't listen regarding my order that was a mistake on their part, & when I tried to explain, she just talked rudely over me & did not listen to what I had to say, could care less, nor did she try to help or try make it right. When I told her on the phone after she was continuously argumentative to just refund my money & I would not come back, & take my business elsewhere, she said OKAY! Bye!!! I don't know if Dr. Teagle is aware of her running off his customers! Then my husband asked to speak to Dr. Teagle & she came back & made it right. She needs to go!! Dr. Teagle is a great Optometrist but I'm not going back if she's who they want keep to have to deal with at the counter. I had gone to Teagle for 2 years and this review is well over due. Unfortunately this last visit will be our last one here. We went back the later part of last year and while Dr. Teagle himself was ok his office staff was horrendous. Trying to get someone to help us was a joke and the primary women TINA was worthless. All she cared about discussing was her new car that was in the parking lot that she had just purchased and taking everyone out to see it. Icing on the cake was when we did get our glasses my sunglasses were not tinted the darkness that I had wanted. They told me no problem and they can fix it in house. I was like awesome, and they did. Now, my husbands had ordered mirror tint, well there was no mirror on those glasses at all. Needless to say they were going to have to send them out and could not give me any sort of an eta on how long it would take. They told me to follow up mid next week as it was friday. We left and went to the mall. As soon as I walked into the store we had gone to I looked at my glasses and my frames were cracked at the top and bottom (basically about to split). Needless to say we went right back over and they first looked at me and tried to insinuate that I had done it. I told them there was no way in the span of 20 min that I had been able to destroy these frames. Come to find out when they were popping the lenses in and out to darken the lenses they caused the cracks in them. The tech that worked on the said "I thought it was just dirt", so she obviously had seen the cracks. I was very unhappy with entire way things were handled. I had my yearly eye examination done at Teagle Optometry. I told Dr. Teagle I was in a hurry and I needed to get to an appointment he did the examination I needed a new prescription. I left my old glasses to get my new prescription installed. A few days later I received a phone call that my glasses were ready. Again in a hurry I picked them up drove home and something wasn't correct with my vision. After a few days I called Teagle Optometry and asked to talk to the doctor they told me he was with a patient and I left him a message. To my surprise the doctor called me back within 20 minutes and ask'ed me if I could come back to do the examination again. I told him I would be right in. I did the examination again and it needed to be changed slightly. Now my glasses and vision is perfect. Moral of the story " Don't be in a hurry when you have your eyes examined " I really appreciate Teagle Optometry going the extra mile for me. read more

My husband and I have been going here for years, and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I've been to a few of the doctors, and all of them have been professional and knowledgeable. I wear contacts and my eyes are extremely dry. Dr. McClenaghan has taken so much time with me to make sure I am comfortable and have the right lenses for my eyes. I also wear glasses and Tony spent a good hour with me making sure I had the right glasses for my face and did not try to sell me the most expensive glasses in the store. He was patient, courteous, helpful, and always made great suggestions. I've also had my kids eyes examined here and the whole staff was wonderful with my kids!! If i could -i would rate no stars. Having been coming to this office since 2012 my children needed a check up. Waited a week for an appointment advised to employee making appointment all my insurance information to confirm still accepted told everything was good to go. Received confirmation of my appointments show up to the appointment get told sorry we dont accept your insurance and that they called me to advised they no longer accept my insurance. Funny my call log showed no missed or received calls from there office. Got no apology nothing- but were sure wanting to collect my money. That didn't happen. Asked for notation on paper work of there mistake they could not even do that. THE WORST!!! read more

I have been coming to Teagle Optometry for all of my eye exams and glasses for over 6 years. I went in this past week for my annual eye exam and to pick out new glasses and, as I've come to expect, the entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I wanted to maximize my vision benefits and still get a great pair of glasses so Teagle's staff took their time with me and helped me find the best pair of glasses for my face and my budget. My exam was with Dr. McClenaghan who was professional, courteous and thorough. He had a slight concern with my right eye's prescription change and did additional tests/exams (at no cost to me) to ensure I had nothing to worry about. I appreciated him taking the extra time with me and explaining everything he was looking at and testing for. I am constantly recommending my friends and family to this office because I know they will be in good hands. I look forward to my next visit with Dr. McClenaghan and the rest of the staff! read more

The optometrists are fantastic- attentive, thorough, and friendly. I would not hesitate to see the doctors. I would, however, hesitate to ever buy glasses here again. The front desk staff has zero customer service skills and little to no conversational skills. My husband and I have been going here for years and in the last 3 years when I started needed driving glasses, I lost about 3 years of my life just trying to get my glasses made correctly. I never knew getting pair of prescription sunglasses would be so hard or time consuming. It will take weeks for your glasses to come in and they will be wrong when they do, especially if you want your sunglasses to actually block the sun. Do not expect an apology from anyone, and don't even expect them to take notes about what went wrong so the glasses can be corrected. Just be prepared to return time and time again for months until the glasses come in right...or go somewhere else. read more

Never again! This was my first time going to the optometrist and trusted Teagle as my wife has used them for almost 20 years. Upon entering the office the front counter people appeared cold and unfriendly. I was handed a tablet and told "fill this out." After filling it out I handed it back and was given an eye exam by the doctor. The doctor was nice. After exiting the exam room I found that other employees had shown up to work. I was confused as when I went into the room the girl I spoke with was dressed appropriately, but after exiting the exam room the girls were dressed as if they were going to a night club. Short skirts and cleavage hanging out of their visible bras, not what I expect to see at the eye doctor. While I stood there Dr. Teagle walked by me and gave me a cold stare, I said "hello sir," he just stared and walked by. After picking out the glasses I wanted and accepting the up charges, I placed the order. Upon leaving I was charged $39 for pictures taken of my eyes. Later I was told it was an option and I didn't have to do it. Upset that I didn't see that fee and feeling it was just another charge, I called to inquire. I was told by the girl that it was there to see, when I advised that I had read it and didn't see it, she replied, "sorry, were short staffed." I advised I was the first patient in the morning. I was then transferred to a manager, she was very rude and condescending. I didn't expect my money back but did want an explanation and proof of that fee. She continued her rude behavior until I said, "maybe I will take mine and my wife's prescription elsewhere." She replied, "that's fine, come in and pick them up." I told her to cancel my order and I would be in to pick up my prescription. She replied, "fine." Upset I drove over and picked them up immediately seeing as other reviews stated they will lose or destroy your prescription. Upon entering I was given my signed prescriptions, prior to walking out I saw the manager exit the exam room with the doctor. I assumed she was doing damage control. At no point did any of the employees offer to show me that fee in the forms I filled out. If I made a mistake, fine, I own it, but show me. After reading the reviews they are either five or one stars. The one stars all read the same, nice doctors, rude, condescending, under dressed staff. One review written like this should be unacceptable! You need to fix your office, tell the girls to put clothes on and start acting like the work in a medical office. I never write reviews but felt compelled to after an experience I had today. I called to order new contacts and was told that the ones I use are now $100 a box. They were $50 last time I ordered. I asked about the increase in price and was told they had gone up after the new year. But double! Really. I called 1-800 contacts and ordered a box for $60. Wow! I think the increase has something to do with the fact that whenever I go in, the place is empty. Just an inference. read more

Had an appointment today and was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism. I made the appointment last week, they emailed me some preliminary patient information forms prior to my appointment, and I showed up on time and there was no waiting. They saw me immediately, performed the tests and Dr. Teagle was a consumate professional. Dr. Teagle really made me feel at ease by making sure he answered any question that I might have and assuring me that he offered me all of my options. Had a Saturday appointment - one of the reasons I wanted to start going to this office was because of their extensive hours - and I expected it to be busy and slightly behind schedule, but I was promptly seen. The assistant who did my preliminary tests was knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. Dr. McClenaghan saw me quickly after the assistant completed her tests and was attentive, thorough, and efficient. He listened and also informed me about his evaluation and ideas, providing me new contacts to try with the aim of improving my vision and comfort. read more

I also agree with Sage H. but in a different way. Let me explain, I was examined by Dr Teagle Jr. and he seemed not so interested in my current state of health. First off I have a chronic health issue which I mentioned and I also mentioned it affects my one eye. I believe he noted it in the chart. But here's the kicker - I told him that I just finished a round of antibiotics that can cause BLURRY VISION. right then and there any optometrist with knowledge would have said "OK LET'S RESCHEDULE IN A WEEK WHEN THE ANTIBIOTIC IS OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM". Nope went through anyway. The "ditzy" girl"said they would be ready in a week and they would call. They never did. I HAD TO CALL THEM! The lenses out of focus and I couldn't get my eyes re-checked that day saying they were completely booked. GIVE ME A BREAK - a re-check takes less than 20 minutes. I guess they didn't want to stay overtime - heaven forbid they go the extra mile for a new patient. Upshot - my re-check is this Tuesday morning instead of going that "extra mile" for a new patient. read more
