I go to this place with my friends fairly frequently and it's usually a good experience. They always like their drinks and they have pretty good samples. I don't know if it's just me, though, but every single time I've ordered tea from Tea Talk - even the unsweet kind - it's always come out sickly sweet. Some times it doesn't bother me but usually I can't stand all the sugar and I have to water it down. It's a real shame because the tea actually has some very nice flavor. The seating is funky and very creative, with a huge overturned polished tree trunk serving as a table. The prices aren't too bad, and they seem to build tax into their prices for most of what they sell, so that's nice. I just hoped for more from this place. read more

This is one of those places you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking for it, but trust me, you should be looking for it. Actual real bubble tea outside of New York City is almost impossible to find. Trust me. Especially in this area, I have searched high and low for anything that I can get. When I arrived tat Tea Talk there was an impressive line but they were swift with getting the orders in and out. I ordered two Thai ice tea's with regular boba, they said the boba would be ready in 20 minutes time since they had run out, and I was more than happy to wait. I judge every bubble tea place I go to by the quality of the Thai ice tea and let me say it was worth the wait. Rich in both color and flavor, the boba cooked perfectly, just the right amount of ice. I like this place and the tea choices are great. Probably the best (and only) place you can get boba drinks in the area. Line and the wait for your order can be pretty long though- so beware. Also I've noticed that they often don't have original boba to serve anymore. Which is weird because that's normally what people really come for. read more

My wife and I visited Tea Talk last week during our stay in New Palz. Don't be thrown off by the fact that this business is tucked away in a strip mall. Tea Talk is a solid spot. The bubble teas are phenomenal! But the disrespect and dysfunction from the staff is not worth the stress. I went in this weekend and attempted to order two teas, but only left with one after they made a tea for my friend that she didn't order and then proceeded to walk into the kitchen and talk poorly about her for not wanting the tea that was made that she never ordered or paid for. Apparently I want nothing, never mind, translates to "tea no boba" we were both unaware. Also they were out of black tapioca pearls but failed to put up a sign saying that they didn't have the boba that is typically put in boba tea, like if you were a salad bar but didn't have lettuce. We were told we could wait 15 minutes for them to be made, which would have been fine if I hadn't waited in line for 20 minutes and the woman in front of me hadn't walked out with 10 teas with the boba in them. She should have been made to wait since we wanted one tea and she had a bulk order. I wish I had names of the staff because there was one man who seemed to have it together, but I was more disappointed in the androgynous being behind the register that it's parents could ever be. read more

This place is pretty solid - I like the environment when you walk in and the tea selection is massive. Things can get pricey depending on what you choose but nothing too ridiculous. With tea I'd say you definitely get what you pay for quality wise. Their hot tea is great, I prefer the taro root and honeydew. Worth a visit if you're in the area. The Belly rewards program is pretty great too if you become a frequent flyer here. read more

To be quite honest, there's nothing around Poughkeepsie that can compare to Tea Talk. If it weren't near my school, I'd be completely deprived of milk tea while in college. How sad, right?! I'll be the first to admit it's not the best I've ever had, as I'm a bit of a tea snob, but you know what? It hits the spot! They have a variety of tea flavors and add-ons (boba/jelly) among other products (ice cream!) if you're not a tea person. The staff is really friendly and they're open to answering your questions about tea if you're unfamiliar with the concept. I've witnessed this happened. There are a few seats if you and your friends are interested in staying a while, but it's definitely easy to just pop in and out of if you just wanted to grab a quick drink. I'm definitely going to be back to Tea Talk from time to time, as I want to try a few other items on their menu. If you're just starting out, or if you just need a recommendation, I recommend the classic milk tea! read more

The tea is very good and it is a nice looking cafe. Cute place to hangout with friends. But they take a very long time to give you your order, even if there's only one person ahead of you. If you're on break at work and craving tea, i recommend not coming here because you'll waste your whole break just waiting to get your drink. How do I say that this is my favorite place in the universe? I would come here 2-3 times a day when I was in culinary school, and honestly all the bubble tea I've had in Manhattan and California don't compare... Only negative points is that they are often out of original boba (why not make extra for the "rush" that predictably occurs each day?) Awesome tea shop. They have well over 100 different teas (tons of different green, black, oolong, herbal, fruit) and anything you need for your tea (infusers, tea pots, mugs, accessories, etc). One of the few places that you can find green match by the ounce. Don't get me started on the bubble tea... With something like 50 flavors and 12 different boba options, you can't go wrong. I had the classic bubble tea and it OK, not great. They don't use real milk in it, which I found odd. I think the fake non-dairy substitute they use is what gave it the weird aftertaste. I don't recommend the bubble tea, but my friend who got hot tea said it was excellent. The mall is a little sketchy feeling, but the shop was cute. Honestly the only reason I go to this place is because it is close to my college and it somewhat fills my craving for bubble tea. The services is absolutely awful. There is a guy who works there that is constantly rude to my friends and mocks them for what they order. I don't understand why it is necessary to make fun of someone's order. You're the one getting the money, so why should it matter what a person orders. The bubble tea is some of the worst bubble tea that I've had, so I would definitely recommend going elsewhere. Great place for bubble tea when in the area (spent my undergrad at Marist, now I'm up there every now and then to visit). So many different options / flavors of tea - even for a seasoned bubble tea drinker like me! They have loose leaf tea as well and a variety of cute tea sets, bowls with chopsticks, and normal mugs. Great variety of "bubbles" you can get in the tea including the classic tapioca bubbles, pop bubbles with fruit juice inside as well as one of my favorite, the pineapple star "bubbles" that are actually the shape of stars. They always have yummy samples at the front so you can try a new flavor. A cup is around $4 which isn't bad, just tell them to go easy on the ice. They will also take suggestions "more or less sweet" Nice little atmosphere to sit and drink your tea and they even do tea tastings (for hot teas) Make sure to get a Tea Talk card and you can earn yourself a free tea if you can manage to keep track of it! read more

Not a fan of the extremely slow service at this location. A 10 minute wait just to place an order and the employee didn't know he didn't have the ingredients for the drink. 3 people working. I love tea talk! Refreshing teas and cute little place. The location is unfortunate, but that's my only critique. Instead of getting a sugared up bubble tea, try something with not so much sugar. The moment I stepped foot inside Tea Talk it immediately became my favorite spot in Poughkeepsie. The employees are very nice and always have a smile on. After my trip to Thailand, I couldn't get enough Thai tea. Their tea is good but never tastes exactly the same each time I've ordered it. Since there isn't many places I can get this drink, I settle for Tea Talk's. The food at their new cafe is nothing to rave about. I have had two of their "ramen" soups which do not have any flavor. I recently ordered the shrimp noodle soup and the noodles were over cooked and mushy and the only flavor came from the pickles. I'll stick with just the Thai tea from now on.
