You can buy bags of coffee to take home, too. There is a case with donuts and pastries. I love that they have some colorful earrings and tumblers for sale. The person at the register was so nice and helpful, making sure to go over all our options with us. This place was a burger king in it's forever life, but all of the old signs of plastic booths are gone, and that have been replaced with wooden tables, industrial metal chairs, a bar height communal table, and a leather sofa/chair conversation area. I love the beamed ceiling and the mountain scene made in wood on the wall. We ordered an iced turtle mocha and a cold brew. Both were delish. I never drink black coffee, but the cold brew was so good I would drink it black. We also ordered roast beef melt, panini style, and the ham and Swiss melt, also panini style. Both were yummy. They were each served with a pickle and a bag of chips. There were several people working on laptops when we were here. They even have a printer available which is a huge plus for people here working. There were several rainbow flags and even a rainbow themed drink of the month, so this place is definitely lbgtq+ friendly. This is a great little spot, and I certainly see my self returning.

When Mayo Becomes the Main Ingredient:…read more My wife and I stopped by Renegade Coffee in Mesa for a quick lunch. We've enjoyed their breakfast offerings in the past, so we figured we'd give their sandwiches a try. Unfortunately, lunch was a completely different experience. My wife ordered the Spicy Chicken Melt, and I went with the Turkey and Provolone. Let's just say I wasn't prepared for what came next. My sandwich arrived on bread that wasn't even toasted, with a mountain of mayo and what seemed like just enough turkey to legally call it a turkey sandwich. You know there's too much mayo when you take one bite and the entire sandwich explodes, sending the fixings straight to the floor. At that point, I wasn't sure if I ordered a turkey sandwich or a mayo sandwich with a turkey garnish. My wife said her Spicy Chicken Melt was okay, but nothing special. Certainly not something she'd go out of her way to order again. The real kicker? $34 for two sandwiches and one Diet Coke. For that price, I expect a decent sandwich, not a mayonnaise disaster held together by a few slices of turkey. My $9 sandwich ended up exactly where it belonged--in the garbage. We've enjoyed Renegade's breakfast before, but after this lunch experience, I think we'll stick to the memories of better meals. Final verdict: Disappointing food, poor value, and a lunch we won't be repeating.

I ordered a latte, nothing fancy or complicated, and it just wasn't good. I can't quite pinpoint whether it was the espresso beans, the whole milk, or the combination of the two, but something tasted off. There was almost a slight spoiled-milk flavor to it, although it's possible it was an issue with the espresso itself. Either way, it wasn't an enjoyable drink. The latte was maybe 12 oz and cost $6.50. At that price, I expect something that at least tastes better than what I can get at Starbucks or Dutch Bros. I'm glad I have an espresso machine at home because, honestly, I'd rather pull fresh shots myself than spend $6.50 on a latte that misses the mark. I really wanted to like this place, but based on this experience, I left disappointed.

I ended up getting the toffee nut latte & my daughter the ice vanilla latte. They have different options for milk and I went with coconut which think it made my drink very bitter unfortunately. My daughter did whole milk, hers was better but could still could taste a slight pungent flavor. I'd have to say we were both not a real fan of their coffee. The atmosphere here is pretty cool. You can shop, sit inside or out. They do have a restroom that was really retro. Would say the outdoors (backyard) could use some good maintenance crew cleaning. It was a cool experience, but probably would not be worth our visiting again.
