Tea Rush Express has a small sliding window facing East from 10th street to take the orders, pay and pick up your cold drink. You'll almost miss the window as it's new and it's small not high reaching. I don't know if I even took a pic. The only negative is that if it's early you have to wait in the sun. But it's worth it! As we arrived I could see the locale was small but well kept and clean. There is about 7 tables and can sit around 20, so hope you arrive when it isn't packed. This locale also doesn't have a drive thru, so you will have to get down if you just want one to go. They do offer free WiFi and the password is taped to the back of their computer monitor where they charge you. It's tearush168 if you need it. The lady at the counter treated us very high spirited. Though the enthusiasm was appreciated, when asked questions about what a certain choice was, she just told us it was very good and that we should try it. I am an adventurous kind, but I also need to know what something is in case of allergies or possible reactions. Overall, the taste of my beverage was good. I had a peach drink with cherry bubbles. I have tried so many boba shops in Houston, San Antonio and Tea Rush is probably one of my top three places of not sitting in first. The owner is always in taking orders with the most pro service. She speaks clearly and always confirms your order. She offers suggestions and always smiling. The quality of the teas are always the same and rarely change. The boba is always cooked to perfection and teas are not overly sweet or lacking. The distinct flavors are there.. Making honeydew flavor one of my favorites here. This is my first time trying a tea place. So I had no clue what to expect as far as taste or options. Their menu is easy to choose from and the all the options sound delicious. They serve your tea in a 16oz or 24oz serving. I decided to try the "Coconut" tea with the "Passion"popping pearls and Oooooo...mmmmmm....ggggg!!!! It tastes phenomenal! I was totally caught off-guard. The creamy coconut combined with a popping sweet sensation at the end is such a rich and smooth experience. I love it!!!! The place is small but seems to have quite a following since there was a line even after the place closes. All tea orders after hours are only available to-go so the place can be cleaned up for the following day. I had been to this place at least 8 times and the waiting after you've made your order, has taken longer every TIME. The one that always takes the orders (Jennifer) forgot to make my order after I was waiting for 15 minutes, she then takes MORE orders and then asks if I was waiting for my order and finally goes and makes it. The main problem here is the lady! Rude because I chose not to wear a mask... while I was outside. Keep in mind. Shes inside. The barrier is an inch think window. She cracks opens the 8x10 (approx size) window not even an inch which she close right away after every sentence. She did not want to take my order bc I was not wearing a mask. She asked me 2 or 3 times. I told her "I'm outside!" She eye signals the customers behind me who were next so she can take their order. I told her the lady I brought with me wanted to try her drinks. I tried their watermelon bubble tea. It was yummy and super sweet. There was opera music playing in the background, which was kind of weird and totally unexpected, but I dug it. Prices are regular, the place is very clean, and the decor is interesting---there are giant outdoor umbrellas on indoor tables. It'd be cool if they had outdoor seating, like MoonBeans, but maybe that's their future plan? I also tried their Japanese Green Tea smoothie with boba. It was just the right amount of sweet! First time coming to this tea shop. The shop and the cashier was very friendly. The environment is very nice but the jackfruit smoothie I got taste like water, like tasting milk and sugar combined. No flavor jackfruit. I thought it could be some real jackfruit flavor but it's not. Maybe I would be ok if they use jackfruit powder but literally this taste and no smell of anywhere near jackfruit flavor. I would recommend not to get the jackfruit smoothie. Yay a second Tea Rush location! Perfect when I'm in this part of town, which was previously boba-less. The drinks are great and just as good as the original location on Shary Rd in Mission. The interiors are a step-up as well, even though the vibe is a bit weird to me. I suppose they are going for a tropical vibe with all those indoor umbrellas. An open umbrella indoors wouldn't go well with a superstitious Mexican but then again this is an Asian establishment. This new store is located in a little plaza with mostly Asian businesses (Filipino market, an Asian restaurant). There is also a doggy spa and a crossfit gym. Used to love coming to this place when I lived here however now it's gotten run down. It used to be so clean and tidy and the drinks were true to their flavor. Now after recently going I saw the drastic change. I used to order a taro smoothie or green tea, this time I ordered lychee and it was pretty awful. It tasted like sugar water....the lychee flavor was very faint. My mom ordered the taro and I think it's better to have it as a smoothie instead of a milk tea because it tasted too chalky. I have gone to several boba places here in the valley and in LA (which is where I was first introduced to it). By far, this is the best place I've come across for boba tea. I go so often that the female owner knows my order by memory, which is awesome! I have tried several flavors which were all good including white chocolate with whipped cream, mint chocolate, coconut, mango, spiced chai, avocado, taro, and my favorite and go-to, lavender. I ask for my lavender lightly sweetened and water-based instead of milk (perfection!). I think the avocado would be better this way too because I thought it was way too sweet when I tried it. The decor really doesn't look all that great but I couldn't care less since that's not what I go for anyway. I highly recommend Tea Rush. read more
