Was bar hopping and checking things off my 'have to try' list in brickell and we just had to end the night at Tea Room. Any speakeasy type bar will always be my favorite. The engaged and friendly employees are what cemented me coming again. Starting with the gentleman manning the line out front he was so friendly. Some lady made a snide comment about something I had on and he made a very nice comment which started the moment off amazing. Then the front door man two tea room was super friendly. There was a little bit of a wait, but he wasn't rude about it . Once and we ordered a drink at the bar from the Bartender as soon as the Bartender notice us there he grabbed a drink order made our drinks quickly. Stay away from this venue. I was extremely disappointed with the employees at Sugar and Tea Room. This is likely why fewer classy, self-respecting patrons are attending compared to the past. Something in their management or operations has clearly changed. I used to visit these venues frequently, but one night I was abruptly escorted out with no explanation or reason given. I later learned from others that if you're not constantly purchasing drinks, they will single you out and ask you to leave. I'm not a big drinker--but had I been treated with respect, I would have gladly made full dinner nights out of it there. On previous visits, security staff would oddly sit next to me and ask if I was "okay," as if something was wrong, despite there being no issue. On another occasion, I was told to leave without any explanation whatsoever. I am a well-dressed, respectful, and well-groomed individual, and the only apparent reason for this treatment was that I wasn't repeatedly buying overpriced drinks or reserving a table. Staff constantly watch and patrol the venue, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and discourages guests from ordering at their own pace. This made me feel unwelcome and pressured rather than relaxed. Additionally, having worked closely with city code compliance in the past, I can say that the hallway connecting Sugar and Tea Room appears too narrow during their over-capacity weekend nights, creating a potential fire hazard in the event of an emergency. I'm not sure whether the city or fire department has been made aware of this. I am a reasonable and respectful person and would not have posted this review if management had simply provided an explanation or apology after I reached out privately. I received an initial response stating they would follow up, but no further communication ever came. Brickell now offers many better options, and I've been treated far better at other venues. Until I receive an apology and a genuine welcome back, I see no reason to remove this review or return. read more

Unfortunately racist experience. I came last night to celebrate my birthday with my friends and partner who are all Indian; I am black. We told the hosts we wanted to go to the Tea Room and were sent back. When we got to the door, we were told by the security guard asked us if we were on the guest list; we said no and we were told we could not go in. We went back to the host stand and were told there was no guest list. We went back again and he told my boyfriend he still could not go in; the manager was walking past and the security guard asked "are they ok to go in"? Came here for after dinner drinks/vibe and Tea Room did not disappoint! Great ambiance right when you walk in and great music, plus views you can't beat. I will say the bartender was a bit standoffish and when I asked for water immediately charged for bottled which is fine, I guess. Made a mean drink though so can't fault them there. Would definitely come back to experience the food, if you want a spot at the bar or a seat, highly recommend getting there on the earlier side because it fills up quickly. read more

Absolutely love this restaurant/ lounge. I went on a Friday night with friends. We initially made reservations to catch the sunset on a beautiful Friday. However, we got there and little did we know, they offered us a night brunch. I thought this was fantastic and honestly so glad we did the night brunch. It did not disappoint. The night brunch included a five course meal with free- flowing wine. You also have the option to have beer or sake or even upgrade to other cocktails. Since it was three of us, we were able to pick and try so many items from the night brunch menu. Our server Tetiana was beyond amazing. She made sure to explain how the menu worked and went over the options. She kept coming with the champagne and wine and was so attentive. The ambience was even more amazing, there was a DJ and the Tea Room was full of people. If you are going on a Friday it is definitely recommended to make reservations as it does get pretty packed. Dear ... I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during our recent visit to Sugar, where my wife and I were celebrating her birthday. This was our first time visiting, and we were initially very impressed by the venue -- the view, the ambiance, the service, and the food were all exceptional. As part of our celebration, we enjoyed a substantial dinner and champagne, spending over $1,000 throughout the evening. Around 1-2 AM, we discovered the Tea Room, a beautiful and quiet lounge near the restrooms. We decided to continue our evening there and ordered another bottle of champagne (approximately $350). We were seated in what appeared to be a VIP area -- a small, private space within the lounge that was occupied by only a few other guests. At one point, we stepped away from our seats to admire the view -- no more than 20 steps away. We left my wife's coat and purse, along with our half-full bottle, at our table, fully intending to return shortly. A security guard was stationed near the VIP area and had a clear view of us the entire time. Upon returning just a few minutes later, we were shocked to find that our belongings had been removed. The security guard had taken my wife's purse and coat, handed them over to the manager, and our bottle had been discarded -- all without any communication or effort to confirm whether we had left. It was an extremely disrespectful and unnecessary action, especially considering we were clearly still present in the room. We spoke to the manager, who returned the purse, but we later noticed that a small amount of cash -- approximately $100 -- was missing. While the amount may not be significant, the principle is deeply troubling. This experience left us feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and ultimately, robbed. What was meant to be a special and celebratory evening ended on a very sour note. We expected a level of professionalism and courtesy that aligns with the high standards Sugar/Tea Room is known for -- unfortunately, that was not our experience. Night brunch at tea room was SOOO incredibly tasty and fun. This unique experience really added to the vibe for me. With the option to choose every single course as well as drinks, the customization here was truly endless. The food was fabulous and the drinks were hitting. My only complaint was that drink service was a bit slow for unlimited, but I understand as it's a club. It can be challenging to hear so be warned this is not a place for table side conversation. read more

This is definitely a place you spot by for one or two cocktails to enjoy a nice view. They also play live music during the weekend so it justifies the cost. I have tried the food there once and absolutely loved it but can be costly. Put this on your bucket list. Ps: the tea room is more of a speakeasy and you'll need a reso to get in during the weekends. It's just overly pretentious. The views are spectacular though. Only had Chicken Yakitori which was very good. Glad it was cooked through because you can't see anything; it's so dark in there. Bartender was super nice and he made a zero-proof cocktail (non-alcoholic) at request. There is no signage or labeling anywhere for "Tea Room". Select "Sugar" on the lobby touch screen and it will take you up. Bouncer will check ID up there. Turn right go down long hallway. The Tea Room is a place you won't easily forget. The incredible Miami city night lights from the 40th Floor will forever remain a beautiful memory. The red velour, dark wood furniture with the red lighting sets a sexy mood and is so comfortable. The drinks are superior and get you in a good mood quickly. The food is exotic, delicious, and beautifully presented, never mind the timetable and the price. The guests are dressed to the nines and walk fashionably past you, leaving an expensive perfume tickling your nostrils. Do get closer to the window area to see the fabulous view if you can. There are a few times where you find a spot that deliver good vibes. This place is it. It's a whole vibe. I am only reviewing the drinks. I ordered the Tropical Thunder. The cocktail had a nice blend of rum, Amaro, pineapple, grapefruit, peychauds and jamaïcain bitters. Sweet and fruity. It was really good but way overpriced. On average, the cocktails price range from $17-21 per drink. They add an automatic 18% service charge (20% if you're in a group of 6+) which brings your total to a hefty $30 easy for a single drink! With that being said, the view is truly breathtaking. You get to see the whole downtown Miami from the rooftop. It's a nice spot for a girls' night, date night, friends' night or any night outs for that matter. The music is awesome; they play techno meets EDM music. Pro tip: if you take the elevator to the 26th floor, there's a sitting area facing the windows where you can sit and soak in the view quietly and in peace one last time before you leave. Came here for the first night of my bachelorette and we had the most amazing time. The food was surprisingly delicious. Drinks were strong and vibes were so lit. First, let's talk about how cool this place is. It is not advertised and the hotel does a great job of keeping it very "exclusive". This was my first, true speakeasy experience and it definitely won't be my last. In order to get there, you have to go up the elevators and instead of heading to Sugar, their gorgeous rooftop bar, the hostess takes you into this hidden hallway and behind this really cool door is Tea Room. The view at night was amazing. You could see the whole city come alive. I believe at 10pm they start kicking restaurant diners out and this place turns into a really classy, "invite-only" bar with dancers and a DJ. The food is Asian fusion. Every single dish was so good and the service was awesome. Beware there is an $100/pp minimum but very well worth it. Overall, this was one my favorite places on my whole trip to Miami. Despite calling ahead of time with concerns regarding a sleeveless dress-shirt, the front of house staff tried to deny me entry & brought out a manager who ALSO tried to deny me entry by claiming it was a tank top. After reading the dress code from the website out-loud she agreed to "make an exception" after realizing I did meet dress code, but still refused our entry because the "rest of our party was already late and we wouldn't have time to eat" AND the person I was with wasn't wearing heels due to a medical condition that forces her to wear comfortable & supportive shoes. She rudely said "you can sit outside and wait at sugar, we let anyone go there." Mind you - we witnessed several men walking in to Tearoom with athletic/dirty/ugly shoes. Because we drove over an hour to meet a friend for their birthday, we decided to go outside to Sugar and wait. While Tearoom refused to take our food off of the bill (despite us not being there to consume it), our lovely waitress at Sugar brought it out to us there. It was TERRIBLE. Everything tasted like soap and the portions were pitiful. I would never recommend Tearoom to anyone based on the food, rude staff, and negligence of extenuating circumstances that might prevent a woman from wearing "appropriate" shoes. Since it's a lounge, even with a dinner res we sat at the low tables which was awkward for eating and seemed like a service challenge. The value of the $88 unlimited wine and 5 courses is unbeatable, I would not be satisfied if we had chosen a la carte. The portion sizes are great and we felt we got more than our money's worth in wine. The lobster salad portion was especially large, although the lobster didn't taste fresh. Under The Seaweed roll is also a delicious highlight, and the Takoyaki was surprising, very crunchy and hot.
