Bar menu 1/2 off all drinks 6-8pm

Candela is located right in the heart of Mary Brickell Village and is a nice spot with outdoor seating for people watching. The restaurant used to be called Cuzco and is still a Peruvian restaurant with some flair. The server was friendly and eager to please. He recommended a good Malbec "Forever Young" (I wish ha!) which is $9 a glass usually but during happy hour 4.50! I ordered the raw oysters and when they came I asked for horseradish and cocktail sauce (usually standard with raw oysters) au contraire here apparently. Maybe there was a loss in translation but I asked for these things and the server was extremely confused. He first brought me tabasco sauce and then said he needed to speak to the kitchen poor thing. He truly went out of his way to try to help. He returned about 5 minutes later with a confused look on his face and gave me the horseradish as well as what he called a side sauce (it was cocktail sauce) He warned me that the kitchen staff advised him horseradish was very potent and to be careful. Haha The oysters were fresh and the place seemed to fill up. The table next to me was having pisco spurs which looked amazing as well as some appetizers. I would return during happy hour as drink prices were great.

This plce is located at the heart of brickell.. We came here as our supplier recommended it... I though to myself another nice Peruvian rest.... What a surprise!! Maybe the best Peruvian restaurant I have been in Miami!! The complete experience was very good... We were greeted by Nilton who took great care of us... Explained very well how the menu worked and also explained why they use a fresh Tilapia (this one was quite good)!! And suggested a Special Ceviche... It was very good... Tasty well prepared and balanced. Then he recommended the Sea Bass for me with some kind of noodles as a bed of the Fish... This was quite good and well cooked... Balanced, fresh and tasty as well!!! My colleagues were also very happy with their selections!!! The place is clean, has outside tables and a nice bar area inside! Good ambiance as well... This place I will for sure come back! Enjoy

Came here on a Friday night for a work holiday event. Located in the brickell area there is plenty of street parking and garage parking. It is located on the first floor. The service was good and bartenders as well. Those who were part of the event got a wrist band. We ordered an appetizer plate which included slices and pieces of sausage, chicken, steak, with fries and potatoes. Also came with two sauces: chimichurri and a cilantro sauce. The music was also good and everyone was dancing having a good time. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was at how dark it was everywhere but the bar! The bar had red lights around, but when you turned to look at everyone dancing behind you, you could not make anyone out because it was so dark! I think a little extra lighting around would be perfect. Overall fun place to go to for a night out!

Lunch Special - Bandeja Paisa

Tried this place for the first time with some friends for lunch on a Friday. I was surprised the place was not full being it is located in The Shops of Mary Brickell Village which gets a lot of traffic. The waitress greeted us, mentioned the lunch specials, and they had 50% off all drinks. So I went with the Bandeja Paisa special for $12.95. I was gladly surprised with the lunch portion. My bandeja came with a steak that was cooked medium well and soft, two eggs over medium which was perfect to ooze into the rice, one chorizo, one crispy pork rind, two thick slices of fresh avocado, two sweet plantains, bowl of beans, and a triangle of arepa. The food was delicious and filling. That night I had a smoothie for dinner because I wasn't hungry. Dining area - They have both indoor and outdoor dining area setup with regular tables and high tops. They also have seating at the bar. Ambience - inside the shades rolled down to block the glare of the sun, soft background music, flat screen TVs, and lights dimmed enough where you can still see what you are eating. Outside you get to people watch while you are eating.

I have been in this restaurant a couple of times since they opened, I admit that I have comeback cause every time I'm there I see other people dishes and they look so fantastic thet I say to my self "I will come back for that"..... I have had the Grilled Octopus and is just fantastic, I also tried somenthing that I could never thought it would be so great and is the "Lomo Saltado Risotto" this is a peruvian dish made with tenderloin that is to die for... I have also tried the ceviche with mango and I honestly not into raw food but this ceviche is super tasty and with an excellent citrus balance. This place is very clean and the service is good they clean your table fast and keep you glass filled whit whatever you are drinking, nice atmosphere and beautiful space.... Definitely coming back! !!

similar vibe to tao in nyc/vegas…read more we ordered the chinese prix fixe: - dumplings 7/10 can definitely tell theyre handmade but so small haha - black pepper beef 7/10 flavor was really light for black pepper beef (usually the black pepper is almost overwhelming but in a good way) also veggies in the dish were like store bought frozen veggies :/ tasted like pf changs tbh - ube flan 7/10 way too sweet but good we also got the szechuan ny strip 7.7/10 if the sauce was on the side instead of on top and they had green beans instead of the potatoes it would be a 9, it was cooked really well !! service was kinda weird, it wasn't busy but our waitress rarely checked on us and it kinda felt like she didnt wanna be there/passive aggressive

Mediocre Food, Insultingly Small Portions and Poor Service…read more Unfortunately, Komodo was a major disappointment. The food was mediocre--especially for a Miami Spice menu--and nowhere near the upscale experience we expected. After spending almost $400 for my husband and I, I would have expected more. The portions were insultingly tiny, with the exception of the chicken salad. The salmon tacos contained what tasted like salmon "paste," and each taco shell was barely two inches long. They were so ridiculously small that even our waiter chuckled. The "half Maine lobster" was about the size of a jumbo shrimp, with no claw. The main course came with no sides so for $65 jumbo shrimp that was it. If you actually want a meal expect to pay extra for "fried" rice that was super bland and churrasco 10 oz extra at $12. So my steak meal was $87 and for that I could have had a real upscale experience at Daniel's in the Gables with upscale service and food. The experience started poorly when the four of us were seated at an awkward, cramped table with no legroom. We were positioned facing outward instead of toward one another, making normal conversation nearly impossible. It was a very strange setup for a party of four. Also, it was very warm in the restaurant and I would have asked to adjust but at the look at the servers face and everyone else I was afraid to say anything that something would happen to my food. The hostess also forgot to give us the Miami Spice menu. As soon as we requested it, the waiter's attitude noticeably changed, and the service went downhill from there. By the end of the night, the restaurant was overcrowded, with a very young crowd pouring into the bar area, and everything felt disorganized and poorly managed. Miami Spice used to be a wonderful way to experience Miami's better restaurants. Unfortunately, this felt more like a complete rip-off than a special dining experience. Komodo did not deliver the quality, portions, service or atmosphere its prices and reputation suggest. They should not be participating in Miami Spice as they have no upscale food to offer. My only regret is I didn't take pictures for potential customers to see how terrible this experience was and food looked. This was highly disappointing,,,save your money.

Grails in Wynwood absolutely nails the sports bar experience, but with a personality all its own…read more The sneaker-themed concept is everywhere, from the sneaker shot glasses to the oversized cocktail souvenirs. It's fun without feeling gimmicky, and the food holds up just as well. The smash burger is excellent, the wings are crispy and perfectly seasoned, and there's nothing wrong with washing it all down with an ice-cold beer. If you're there for weekend brunch, things get even more interesting. Grab a mimosa or sangria and, if you're feeling ambitious, take on the 17-inch monster breakfast burrito "Bases Loaded Burrito". Finish it in 20 minutes and your picture lands in their virtual Hall of Fame. I was smart enough not to try. For sports, this place is hard to beat. TVs are everywhere, and there's a huge outdoor watch-party setup. Big shoutout to Nacho behind the bar, Paul, the mastermind in the kitchen, and Roger for keeping the games covered. If it's game time and you're in Wynwood, Grails is the place.
