There is a large selection of drinks so you always have something new to try. However, I tend to stick to the same thing. Honey jasmine with aloe or passion fruit green tea with mango jellies. They also offer small bites like onigiri and takoyaki. My favorite is the shrimp tempura onigiri. Prices are fairly reasonable and service is quick. It look crowded around 8pm on a Tuesday night. Whenever there is a big crowd, there's something unique about the place. After we ate dinner, we came and brought drinks. Average at best (taste wise) compared to the other shops in the area. My drinks were very watered down and the bubbles were extremely chewy on two different occasions. They're normally pretty busy due to the fact that they have a good location and one of the first bubble tea places in Chinatown. With that being said, I've had much better drinks from Vivi just across the street and Kung Fu Tea just a block away. You can also tell this by the clientele of the various shops. Tea Do mainly attracts tourists, which Vivi and Tea Do attract the FOBs. Highly recommend Kung Fu Tea or Vivi if you're looking for good drinks. One of the best bubble tea places I've been to! Obviously, there are plenty of bubble tea places to choose from in Chinatown. I chose Tea Do based on yelp reviews, and it was such a great pick. The menu is so extensive - I don't think I've been to a bubble tea places with so much variety. I especially like their menu because they have several speciality drinks and occasionally a few fun rotating specials. For example, they had Beauty and the Beast themed drinks when I visited in honor of the new movie coming out! Since this was my first visit, I just opted for the classic milk tea with boba. If I could give this place a 0/10 I would. First off, I along with 10 other people waiting in line were not served before 9:30pm because the woman at the register didn't want to take out order. Keep in mind, this place was to close at 10 pm. All of the customers were turned away. In addition, NONE of the people making the drinks were wearing masks. That is ridiculous especially with the situation of the pandemic in Philadelphia right now. I am utterly disgusted and disappointed at the way that I was mistreated. I've tried other drinks here, but that seems to be the only one that I like. I was in Philly for a few days and had a serious craving for boba "bubble" tea yet didn't have high hopes since it was kinda late. A quick search brought up this little gem. Upon arrival I could see it was popular by the crowd. Usually a good sign. When I walked in, there were people playing cards and other games, everyone seemed happy, and that was another good sign. The menu is robust and it seemed like I would be in the right place ... BUT... I had one worry... I have some strict dietary restrictions as of recent and needed some special ordering to make things right for me. Most bubble tea places just cant accommodate special diet issues... BUT AGAIN... I was in the right place. I had to tell the two guys at the counter my limits and they were super helpful in making me exactly what I needed. The servers that took my order, JOSH and VICTOR, were patient and helped me figure out what would perfect for me, AND took care of my crew. It Is customer service like that, from good guys like that, that make a restaurant, or in this case a boba spot, shine and make you want to continue giving Tea Do business. This place was so good, my husband and I visited twice while we were in Philly recently. There are lots of choices for teas and jellies to add to your tea. I didn't see what I normally order when I go to bubble tea places, so I ordered something not on the menu and they nailed it! I got Black Tea with Lychee syrup and Lychee Jelly. It was delicious. The boba here is amazing. The teas are all wonderful as well. Some of my favorites are the taro smoothie, passion fruit green tea and anything red bean. The food is wonderful also. During high season though, spring and fall and also just random times throughout the day the service can be extremely slow and a little strange the way it's done. Handling a rush is a hard thing to master, but I feel they could do this better. Other than that the prices are pretty common for center city. The atmosphere here is fun and there are board games throughout the table areas. High school kids appear to go crazy for this place. read more

They actually have a couple of cheap food items such as gyoza, fish balls, and wings. I tried the curry fish balls and it was pretty good considering that it was only $1.50. I ordered the taro milk tea and it was pretty good. No complaints here. Taro is ube in the Filipino culture and it is purple. Looks and tastes good! The guy that served us looked a little annoyed at whatever but the service was quick. They had some jenga games as well for entertainment. Overall a good place to get boba and cheap appetizer eats. Not sure if I will come back because of the sheer variety of Asian shops and restaurants in this area. read more

Best bubble tea I have ever had! First of all, the prices are totally fair which is nice because Bubble Tea is definitely something people can try and jack up the prices on. I am a very traditional bubble tea consumer, so Thai milk tea with tapioca bubbles is my go to. The bubbles are always good, fresh tasting, and never clump together like I have experienced at other bubble tea places at this price point. Also, love that you can select different levels of sugar (100%, 70%, 30%, and 0%) which is awesome for accommodating diets and general preferences. My BFF always gets the coconut and puts 0 sugar and it still tastes sweetened. Also she is more adventurous and gets the mango or lychee jellies instead of the traditional tapioca bubbles and it's soooo good. Luckily we usually go together so I can have some of hers in addition to mine and not have to choose between the two, because they are both SO GOOD. Last comment - the place itself is pretty trendy and fun to hang out at. They have Jenga and other board games, a couch to chill on etc. Only problem with that is it can get super packed so wouldn't be the most fun to hang out there when it's crowded. What I like about this place is that the flavors are always consistent. No matter what I order or how many times I order it, it will taste exactly like I expect. This place is very good with taking and completing orders. Whether you want 30% sugar, a substitution for bubbles, or no ice, you will always get what you ordered. The food items take a bit longer to make, but if you're craving a good onigiri (I suggest the spam), it's worth the wait. The only thing that may be bad about this place is that it can get very crowded sometimes. When it's crowded, finding seating can be difficult and you might have to wait a long while between ordering and receiving your drink. The crowd, noise, and loud music is enough for me to make a run to Mr. Wish, KungFu Tea, or Vivi's down the street. Works on it right away. Hands me my cup of thai tea and asks if I wanted anything else. Of course I'd love to try everything but not today, I reply. I pick my own colorful straw and walk to a table to poke my straw in the plastic wrappings. The Tea: Freshly brewed tea. I like how they left the tea and milk in a gradient blend for me to mix myself and watch it turn orange. Bubbles are MARVELOUS. You think Tea Talk's bubbles are great? THINK AGAIN. This place has the best bubbles I have EVER eaten in the fifteen years of my life. The Place: Decor is very nice and people are nice too. They speak loud enough and the music isn't too loud either. They can speak both english and chinese so it's not a place for just the youngins'. Menus are nicely on the wall and text is visible for a blind mouse like me. Menus also available outside the store so you don't have to awkwardly walk in and be like 'Heyyy.. oh you don't serve xx nevermind' and walk out. Conclusion: Definitely visiting again. I came here on a weekend afternoon with some friends and it was pretty packed. I got the Thai tea with 30% sugar no ice and half boba, and I asked before ordering whether they use powder or real tea. They use real tea, so I got it. The tea was really weak though, and they gave me ice and they did not give me half boba like I asked for. Their bubbles were quite chewy and good though, and the tea wasn't overly sweet which was good. Definitely need stronger tea though. At $3 pre-tax, it's pretty well-priced for a drink! read more

In all seriousness, I love to drink tea with balls in it. Taiwan seriously rocks for inventing this. I absolutely love it. For you tea with balls noobies, sometimes it's called bubble tea, other times boba tea, sometimes the balls are called "pearls." But what I dig about this place is they don't just stop at the normal black balls, they have a large assortment of "fruit jellies" you can add to your milk tea or smoothies. Recently, I was also introduced to the fruit flavored "popping balls" that are filled with juice and pop in your mouth. Yes, POPPING boba! It's like a gusher in your mouth! Only, it explodes with totally awesome flavors like green coconut tea and guava fruit tea. Tea Do offers a nice variety of snacks and drinks that sell at an affordable price. I've bought impossibly expensive white tea in Manhattan boutiques (hell, even Teavana), and I'm a bubble tea fiend. I like the EGCGs of Green Tea, the lightness and clarity of a good Pu Ehr, and the enhanced digestion and metabolism of yerba mate. So when I had the Honey Jasmine at Tea Do, and I tell you it was perhaps the greatest tea experience of my life, I'm not messing around!
