This is one of the few boba places in the DMV area that stays opened late, but we were shocked to see that it was absolutely packed on a Tuesday night around 11 pm! There is ample parking space in the plaza that it's located in. We ordered the strawberry smoothie and the Tropical Twister, which both automatically came with lychee jelly. Our drinks came out pretty quickly for how busy it was, and they were decent! Even though I asked for 50% sugar, the strawberry smoothie was still very sweet. On the flip side, our Tropical Twister tasted a little too bland and bitter when we got the 50% sugar. I'm not sure what happened there, but Tea-Do still hit the spot for our late night boba craving! read more

While my friend beg to differ about my rating, Tea-Do is easily a 10/10! I love the variety, in fact I think it has more variety than KFT which am also a lover of. While KFT has their partnership with TKK. Tea-Do offers a few other things at their store. I was actually in this area because of the Lil' Thingamajigs store but once I read Tea and Onigiri, I was their client. No discussion, no hesitation. I honestly don't even remember the name, but I know it was something about the Sun or Red as well as an avocado onigiri which I regret only getting two because OMG they are so delicious I was very nervous cuz I get confuse and say Orinigi instead of Onigiri but the dude was so nice, I left a tip. Loooved the Ube boba tea with jelly. So glad I was able to find one here. The matcha boba wasn't bad either - who doesn't love an earthy tea? So for sure, they're not the friendliest - unlike the wonderful Boston location - and the teas aren't as tasty as the keto products in Ellicott City or in Boston or in Philadelphia for that matter. So I'd say it's my least favourite out of the four locations that I've tried, but I'm still glad it's here and adds a lot to the area. They should take a few lessons from Boston though, for friendliness anyway. Up in Boston, the milk teas here are fantastic and the fruit teas are actually really good too. During the pandemic I would order delivery from here and I was never disappointed. IRL is about the same. I love ordering online beforehand so I don't have to wait. I was excited to try this place out, as it had recently opened up in the Shilla plaza. The place was open and inviting, and the staff were all friendly. I was a little sad, as they seem to change their menu up from time to time; I ended up getting the Sunset, which was kumquat and lemon, and I opted out of the aloe jelly. The hubs had ordered the Taro Milk Tea, with no boba. We were both a little less thrilled about the drinks; mine tasted more like sugar cane juice with a hint of kumquat, and not much of a citrus action from the lemon. The hubs' Taro Milk Tea was super grainy and tasted pretty artificial, in addition to being watered down. Not sure what happened, but hoping that this is a fluke? This has to be my absolute favorite boba spot in the DMV! My favorite drinks so far are Almond Jasmine Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Green Tea (Matcha), Taro Milk Tea, and Thai Milk Tea (and in that order!). I love that my drink costs exactly $5 every time - a large milk tea with boba! AND they have a loyalty program! Every dollar you spend you get 1 point, and for every 50 points you receive a free large drink with one topping. Due to COVID their seating area is closed off, however they are enforcing social distancing, provide hand sanitizer, and all employees wear masks. I was super sad they temporarily closed during COVID, but now that they're back open, I will be coming here non-stop for my bob fix! I'm so glad to see this shop open. While boba (bubble tea) is more and more popular, some of the most popular places are simply not that good. They either use powdered flavorings for all their drinks, don't know how to make the boba pearls with a consistent size, texture, and sweetness, or they are just so inconsistent you never really know what you're going to get. I've been three times so far at random times and every time the boba is perfect. Their Thai Iced Tea Bubble Tea is made with fresh liquid ingredients and is as good as at any of the best Thai restaurants. Other varieties of drink "bling" are readily available too like popping boba, jellies, aloe, etc. They have some kind of reward program too, so you earn credits every time you buy. This is a relatively small place, but so far, it's not that busy. I'm afraid when word gets out, it will be standing room only...so I'm torn about posting this review. I love Tea-Do! Their boba pearls are soft, squishy and chewy. Some of the best pearls I've ever had. I got brown sugar milk tea last time, which was soooo good, but decided to get the "Hello Kitty" this time. It's really delicious and perfectly sweet! The heart and star shaped jellies in it are adorable, unique and fun (but was kind of hard for me to suck up with the boba straw). I also got shrimp tempura onigiri, served with spicy mayo. So..I've made 2 visits to Tea-Do and to be honest, I don't dislike the place. I think they have a very interesting flavor profile for all their drinks and I appreciate the creativity with names and flavor combos. However...each time I've gotten a tea drink I'm usually debating if something taste a bit off. By that I mean my tea taste like it has been over brewed with a slight bitterness thats tolerable but quite noticeable. But it is refreshing. At my first visit the person who took my order did let me know if the sweetness level wasn't to my liking to let them know. So that does mean they value criticism to improve and get better. Drinks I have ordered 1st one was the Tropical Twister: Mango, Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Lychee Jelly. a customer favorite which I think has green tea? and was recommended by the cashier who ask whether I wanted something milky or fruity. I also asked if it was overly sweet so he recommended 70% sweet. I think this came with jelly which balanced things out a bit. My second drink was the Hello Kitty:red guava with jasmine tea and fruity shape jellies. Cute name...but the drink didn't live up to its hype. I did try a food item. The baked salmon onigiri which was pretty good just very basic rice wrapped in nori with a bit of salmon. It's a nice snack but with a price tag for what it is. Overall I see the appeal of Tea-Do and it does have potential especially with BOGO Deals here and there. It has good variety for everyone from milk teas to fruit teas to anything else in between with toppings galore. Perhaps I'm still searching for that one drink that wows me that says yes this a reason to return. Can't recommend. Placed a GH delivery this afternoon. The order arrived on time. Unfortunately the chicken was dank and soggy from the steam condensation raining down in the box. While the pieces were decent sized and moist, they were relatively tasteless. The "spicy" mayo wasn't and did little to help the chicken. This was my first taste of onigiri, and unfortunately, it's clearly not my thing. The avocado onigiri was tasteless, and the kenshim onigiri was stringy. For me, they were inedible after the first bite. Now to the teas. I was so looking forward to a sweet, rich Thai tea. I ordered it large, 100% sweet, no ice. What a disappointment. It was watery rather than milky without even a hint of condensed milk sweetness. It arrived with ice. Seriously?!? Even the sticker on the side listed no ice. I order ice-free because of sensitive teeth. Managed to slowly drink it because I was thirsty but would not even consider recommending it. The only upside was that the boba was silky and soft - some of the best I've had in the area. The medium strawberry lime tea, also ordered without ice, arrived (you guessed it) containing ice. Ridiculous. The remaining 2 teas were okay and without ice as ordered. The shop is a no-go for me. While I might have considered ordering tea again (although definitely not the Thai tea), the lack of attention to detail when preparing the drink order just killed any desire to give them a second chance. Boba is a lifestyle around these parts and while I was in town I had to try the latest fav of my sister-in-law's. To TeaDo we head with a list of drinks for our family. We ordered Romeo, Juliet, Honeydew, Oolong with Milk, Avocado smoothie, Coconut smoothie, as well as Jasmine Tea, and True Love. We basically all sampled and shared our bevs and not one disappointed! The flavors were all yummy and not overly sweet. The staff were friendly, fast, and efficient! The decor is very anime inspired and included a lot of my family favorites such as HunterXHunter, Hero Academia, Spirited Away, and Totoro. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in town! read more

LOVE EM! They are always busy for good reason. Perfect little snacks to go with Boba tea that doesn't overfill you because the Boba tea can sometimes be kind of rich. The only complaint is that the Gyu-don (Beef and rice bowl) is pretty damn tiny. The ambience is not too bad it's very Weeb friendly. But honestly, it's such a quick spot that I don't really want to sit because of the busyness and crowded tables. This is one of my favorite boba tea shop. I love it because they have a great point system! Basically you get a free drink every 50 points so make sure you put your phone number in. My to go order at this place is the black honey tea, or the black honey lemon tea. I substituted the aloe Vera with boba and it's free substitute. I also really like the black milk tea, it really remind me of the Vietnamese boba. The Tiger milk tea is a little too sweet for me and I'm a super sweet tooth. The price at this place is super great! It include a topping in the price so it's a super good deal. At most places, it is extra for toppings so this place has the best deal. Most of the time I've been here, the boba is cooked perfectly. They also have great snacks, I've tried the octopus balls and it was really good, the price is such a great deal. First time trying NOVA boba and wanted something light after a very filling meal so I went with the white peach tea with aloe because I've heard Tea-Do's fruit teas are really good. I asked for 50% sugar and less ice and indeed received a mildly sweet drink. Despite the adjusted sugar levels, the peach flavors still came through! The tea base was green tea. Shout out to my sister for introducing me to Tea-Do because this is my new favorite boba spot in the area. If I lived closer, I'm sure that I'd be stopping by at least every other day for carry out, but at least my wallet is thankful that I live farther than it would be convenient. I love that they have almond jasmine milk tea (one of my top 5 favorite flavors) but the real winner about this place are the onigiri (Japanese rice balls, typically with a filling consisting of meat or veggies). I picked up a few for my husband and I and we were instantly reminded of our trip to Hawaii. I'm a big fan of the spam, kenshin (seaweed and crab stick), and baked salmon, which all come with their own container of spicy mayo to dip in. Tea Do has my heart! Forever and ever! My husband and I order our drinks through DoorDash at least once a week. My go to is the Thai Milk Tea and he always gets the Black Milk Tea, both with boba. Occasionally, we'll order a third drink off the menu that neither one of us would get, but what to try. We typically stick with fruity teas and all have been great. Their in person menu is very extensive when compared to what they offer on DoorDash but again doesn't bother us as they always have what we order on their menu. There have been times when Thai Milk Tea is not available on DoorDash but if I call the store and have them make it for me, they'll usually do it. Its always good. The boba is perfect each time! I've had tea-do quite a few times already and my general rule of thumb for their drinks is always get 70% or 50% less sugar (trust me their drinks are much more sweeter than other places) Top 5 favorites and standards are the Tiger milk Tea, Thai tea, watermelon smoothie, Wintermelon green tea, and the Hello Kitty. Keep in mind their speciality drinks have toppings in them, if you want to substitute the topping you can. Onirigi and Takoyaki are hot and yummy as well! This place is in the same shopping center as To-Sok-Chon & Iron Age, so it's convenient to walk over after dinner and grab something to drink. Nice little bubble tea place that recently opened in Annandale in the same center as Shilla bakery. They have many options to choose from. You can modify the sweetness of your drinks too. They have classic teas, milk teas, slush and lots of toppings to choose from. You can opt for more ice, less ice, no ice. They also sell food here. I got to try the takoyaki here. It was actually alright. I am not sure if they do make it here. They serve it in a Styrofoam container which I am not a fan of. Really not good to serve food in styrofoam. The milk teas are pretty sweet so definitely ask for less sweet. They have a bunch of board games, TV's and plenty of seating. Free wifi, bathroom as well. Try it out. see what you think read more

This place is kinda cool. Definitely for the youngsters and K-town lovers. I ordered the Juliet with aloe- read the reviews first so I for the tip that their drinks are sweeter than usual or other tea places. Glad I ordered 70% sugar and less ice. The drink came perfect. I also tried the onigiri unagi and shrimp tempura. Not a fan of the tempura- too much rice and not enough ebi. The sauce makes up for it but IDK if you want to pay for the little tempura shrimp, sauce, rice and seaweed wrap for $5. My order came to about $19 with tax and $2 tip. A little pricey for a snacks and drink considering you can just get kimbap and finger baps across the street that's much better and cheaper. The drink is bery good and refreshing tho. I got the Japanese green milk tea, which is another name for matcha, with green tea jelly. It is interesting to say the least. The drink is good but the jelly is weird.
