No more schleping it to someone across town who won't answer the phone and keeps the knives for the entire week. I use my knives every day, that doesn't work! Tomás to the rescue! He does house calls. He was in and out in 20 minutes. This is a permanent solution for this household. Also, it was not as expensive as the very difficult to deal with brick-and-mortar place in town. Inquired with Tomas about sharpening some garden tools, specifically my bonsai pruner and scissors. After some discussion, and a visit to one of his local neighborhood pop-ups, I decided to trust Tomas with my tools. The same afternoon, Tomas was able to finish and helped me not only sharpen but also cleaned the tools so they look almost brand new! My bonsai pruning shears were hand sharpened and Tomas did a great job removing the nicks and cleaned up the tarnishing, rust, dirt and sap from all those accumulated cuts over the years!! I'm now feeling great about being able to renew the life of my tools and being able to make precise cuts with ease on these newly touched up edges. My plants will be happier too with cleaner cuts for easier healing. I actually went to this sharpeners' garage to get my knife sharpened. He did a great job re-profiling a Shirogorov that had a chipped tip. He removed the minimum amount of material and gave the knife an edge sharper than factory. Great guy and good work. read more

Then looked at TD Sharp website, which is well laid out-- simple w/essential info re: price, contact info & where to have knives sharpen (you can drop off, go to TD Sharp directly or they can come to you). I sent msg through Yelp & TDSharp email address w/photos of knives to sharpen and availability. Rec'd response within a few hrs by email and text. (I appreciate promptness!) Tomas was very accommodating. I met him on a Sunday afternoon. He sharpened three knives (chef, utility and paring) w/3 different belt sanders in about 15mins. The knives are sharp and now it's so much easier to cut and chop! I like TD Sharp b/c Tomas is responsive, competent, reasonable in price, and very nearby! I met up with Thomas and dropped my blades off. He has options for sharpening your blades. In this case it was several rather inexpensive utility kitchen knives that he sharpened on a belt sander but he also offers wet stone and strap sharpening for your nicer blades. It seems like years since I have encountered a business owner who puts out great effort. in both job skill and proving customer service. Tomas did everything to accommodate my schedule. I had him sharpen 7 knives. They are crazy sharp now. when I put them back into their block in the drawer they cut the wood if I touched the wood with the knife. The great challenge now is to not cut myself in the next month. I have had my knives sharpened many times. This is my best experience ever. The price was more than fair. It is easy to schedule and especially now with Joann no longer providing any sharpening services, it's great to have someone that can sharpen kitchen and woodworking tools locally. I saw Tomas ad through IG and was in need of getting my knives sharpened, because w wall know the most dangerous thing in the kitchen is a dull knife. He was running a special so I thought why not. I reached out to Tomas and scheduled a drop off time. I dropped them off he took a look and said no problem. My knives had never been sharpened professionally before and I glad I found Tomas. Not only did he sharpen my knives that they now cut through food like butter but he also removed some rust for me. His prices are extremely reasonable and he was very accommodating to my schedule.
