After 11 years in the industry, Bruce is the ONLY sharpener that I will allow to sharpen my grooming tools! Other sharpeners in the Ventura area have completely shaved off and ruined previous shears and it has cost me a small fortune to replace them. So I've definitely learned my lesson. He is honest and has told me when my shears just need to be adjusted and not sharpened. My blades and tools come back sharp and the value is fair. I know my tools are in good hands with Bruce! Thanks Bruce! Nikki from Woof Pack read more

Amazing service and trustworthy! I'm a newer groomer and my two shears that I thought needed sharpening just needed to be adjusted and lubricated. I appreciate Bruce being honest and letting me know as well as educating me on tool maintenance and what to look out for in terms of wear and tear. Thank you Hower's Sharpening! read more

I met Bruce nearly 7 years ago when I first started grooming. I have had my shears damaged by other sharpeners in the past and am extremely selective when it comes to my sharpening services. Bruce is absolutely amazing, he is fast and all my shears and blades come out perfect. I never go to anyone else. If I don't have enough for him to come to me, I can mail it to him and he gets it back FAST. He is incredibly knowledgeable and always up to date on new products when I see him at the West grooming expo. I swear by his work, and he is a great human being!! So fortunate to have found him. You can't go wrong with Hower Sharpening! read more

Hower communicated with me on Yelp and was very responsive. He gave me a quote and the prices were reasonable - currently at $8 flat rate. I felt like he did great work! He tested the knife's sharpness by cutting through paper. We are very satisfied customers! read more

Bruce came highly recommended by several groomers I know. Friendly, professional and fast service with reasonable prices. He's the only sharpener I trust and the best I've seen in my 14 years of dog grooming. He also sells refurbished clippers and new sets of Sensei Pup shears (which I have purchased and absolutely love). I moved out of his service area, sadly, but I still take my tools to him every 2-3 month when I'm in the area running errands. He even has a mail in service with a quick turn around! read more

Great service and price. We met the relatively low minimum to have him come out to our house, which was definitely worth it. Great work, highly recommend, and would use again when needed. Nice guy as well... read more

Hands down best sharpener around, I use very expensive shears and only trust Bruce with my steel, very punctual,Honest and trustworthy

He sharpened two of my wife's knives a couple months ago, and my wife is satisfied. The only thing I don't like is that he doesn't have a permanent shop -- he just parks in the parking lot in front of a store, and sharpens items from the open end of his vehicle. read more
